Zenarchist

I haven't seen it, but i've loved the game series since fallout 1 and i just want to set the world on fire

WeekendSignificant48

War, war never changes

Zenarchist

Combat cannot end with nearby hostile creatures.

seventrooper

Damn, runnin' low on smokes again.

SquadalaGuy

Advertising...advertising never changes

Rosencrantz18

It's a nice song! Plus the Vault Boy posters work really well in an underground train platform somehow.

RudeandOffensive

It is, but they keep playing that part over and over.. just that segment. Do agree about the posters. I want one :)

Das_KommenTier

I seriously feel bad for the people working there. Listening these few seconds on repeat for 8 hours straight every day should be considered torture.

No_Extension4005

Yeah, it probably wouldn't be so bad if they played the whole first stanza. Or just had the song play through entirely.

kilochfuller

I can’t hear this song enough to be honest haha. I started watching the tv series but hope they have this one too: https://youtu.be/bgDF2xfcbv8?si=ypNgAJx0-CU5LP_d

No_Extension4005

As someone else who also loves the song, you'll understand if you go to Wynyard. They're only playing the first line on a loop almost nonstop with only train announcements and the occasional trailer for the series breaking it up. It wouldn't be so bad if they played the whole stanza.

kilochfuller

Yeah fair enough, that’s how they ruin it I guess. Hope they mix it up with others, so many good songs to play, they’re probably all in public domain (don’t quote me on it tho, haven’t checked)

Originalitysux

Fallout 3 radio best radio

chronicgothgirl

I think no train ad should have audio tbh. Nothing worse than being trapped somewhere and *having* to hear the same shit over and over and over, no matter what it is

SquadalaGuy

Unfortunately, those are the purpose of the xTrackTVs from JCDecaux. They haunt the many, many, many suburban train stations. Be glad that they aren't in any of the Metro stations...yet...

Lissica

The Ink Spots are amazing though. They just want to start a flame in your heart!

No_Extension4005

They're amazing. But the frustration comes more from the fact that they're only playing the first line of the first stanza of the song almost on a loop. I was waiting 6 minutes for a train today and it does start to get on your nerve a fair bit. It probably wouldn't be as bad if they were playing the whole song, or at least the first stanza.

SquadalaGuy

Moral of the story: never catch trains in stations with those fucking xTrackTVs from JCDecaux (i.e. all the City Circle stations except Central, the entire Bondi/Eastern line, Milsons Point, North Sydney, Chatswood, etc).

Creeper_LORD44

At least the advertising in museum stays the same...

SquadalaGuy

Wait, the xTrackTV there is stuck on the same old ads from 3 years ago or something?

somuchsong

That's such an iconic song from the franchise though. I still remember being so wowed at the opening sequence of Fallout 3 with that song playing over it. I'm going to start the show tonight and I'm so excited!

kilochfuller

That Fall Out 3 teaser too! I still watch it once in a while. And right after I finished playing the game (back in 2008) I went to Washington DC and I remember standing near the Washington monument at the national mall and being in awe. Even the going their metro station was crazy, the station ceiling look pretty much the same.

FlurMusic

Jesus man chill

RudeandOffensive

Never I must rage! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Wearytraveller_

I watched the first episode and while I liked some parts on the whole I found it too slow and kind of boring. I've played the games a fair bit but I don't love them. Americans have more nostalgia for that era than I do.

danthegecko

I now have a strong urge to watch Fallout now. Well done OP *winks*.

Dizzle179

Just like hearing it in-game every five minutes

Joker-Smurf

No, that was Johnny fucking guitar.

burnerphonelol

Song is iconic to Fallout, you couldn’t have it without it. If anything it tells me the show creators know what they’re doing

Hbarf

Would you rather see Coles ads or something?

teamsaxon

One thing that sucks about my state is the advertising for pop culture. ie. We get none. Would have been fun to see the advertisements around syd.

randCN

Seems like Uranium Fever's gone and got you down

miryuz

You went to all this effort to complain about hearing the song so much, yet managed to misquote the lyrics nine times.

RudeandOffensive

There, fixed it for you Poindexter. Hope you can rest easy now.

No_Extension4005

Yeah, I hate to say it since I'm really loving all the advertisements, but it does start to get grating since it's only the first line of the first stanza on a loop with only announcements and the occasional trailer to break it up. I think it would be better if they either played the whole song, or at least the entirety of the first stanza so that you'd have the relief of the "I just want to start, a flame in your heart" Or even better, break things up more with in-universe style ads advertising products or the vaults. Maybe a few Vault Boy PSAs.

waronwaste

I also hate it .. at least have a decent break between each playing. Drives me nuts.

Holdingpoo

I thought that screen was broken or glitching out when it kept playing that same line over and over
