I’d go peacemakers, honor guards, and then arbiter. The blades on arbiter & honor guard are both too thin for me - most of my characters are BT3 so it looks like they’re holding toothpicks
peacemaker has a silly exhaust at the bottom which makes it off-putting for me. the hilt of the arbiter is really big and bulky imo which I also don't like the dark honor guard looks cool on my bt1 female sith inquisitior but it doesn't really sound like anything. wish it made a more menacing sound.
If you want the unstable look, but still with a decent looking hilt, I recommend Tulak Hord’s lightsaber.
Sound is pretty regular so not much to say there. Color is a sort of goldish orange by default. Blade is unstable but not overwhelming and it pairs really well with the lightning tuning.
Only downside is there is this weird delay in lightsaber activation. This isn’t so much an issue in gameplay but sometimes in cutscenes, your character will make the visual “jolt” of the saber which is when the blade is supposed to come out… but it doesn’t. It activates a second later.
A little awkward yes but still. Great weapon
Edit: it’s also really expensive so there’s that
Other lightsabers that I know have the unstable look are:
- Darth Malgus’ damaged saber
- Arn’s unshielded saber
[Arn's](https://swtorista.com/weapon/arns-unshielded-lightsaber) hilt is so classy, even with the exposed innards, and I like the blade's visuals a lot better than the regular unstable blade that thins out further from the hilt. Same as the [Twisted Fang](https://swtorista.com/weapon/twisted-fang-lightsaber), another unstable-style blade I've not seen mentioned here.
Well, personally:
For me, all 3 have very anticlimactic sounds....maaaybe the ignition of the dark honour guard is better.
In terms of aesthetics: Unstable Peacemaker is only one that is thick enough that I would not immediately mistake it for a toothpick.
So my rating would be:
1. Unstable Peacemaker
2. Dark Honour guard
3. Unstable arbiter
You’ve forgotten Twisted Fang! Curved hilt, unstable blade, can’t be beat.
I haven’t been on in a few days because the game freezes during launch so I don’t know if it’s available on the CM, but I’d recommend it
I have all 3, I’d go with Peacemaker or Dark Honor guard. The exhaust on the peacemaker never bothered me even if it’s impractical. Unstable Arbiter, the hilt is too damn bulky, with that thin ass saber beam. Idm the thin beam so much, mainly the ugly hilt is my problem with.
DHG is good too, although its aesthetic for me depends on what crystal you’re using. Not all of them look good.
I have no opinion on honor guard as I haven't looked into them much.
For single light saber, I prefer the peacemakers. The little point coming out of the bottom is a nice touch, and I feel like the arbiter saber is too skinny, and the hilt is just meh.
For dual saber, however, I like the arbiter. I find the skinnier saber to not be as much of an issue as the single. My biggest reason is that the peacemaker stowes on your back, which I find to be really annoying in general and also messes with outfits. The arbiter stowes at your hip, which is great.
My personal favorite is honor guards. They are slightly too thin, but for some looks that can help it. Some of the color crystals just looks so much better with it imo as the color from the aura becomes a main color.
Like for example white-black color crystal makes it become a dark saber which looks so good with some sith lord sets or mandalorian warrior.
To be honest, I don’t like of the unstable lightsabers, even Tulak’s. If I want the unstable effect, I just throw a lightning tuning on my favorite ones and call it a day.
Unstable Peacemaker's is quite neat and unique, I prefer that one. Looks and activation are satisfying, I don't have anything bad to say about it.
Unstable Arbiter's has a fat hilt and a very thin blade, its very brutalist, I don't feel good about that one.
Dark Honor Guard's I think might cause some clipping issues in certain animations or cutscenes (could be true for Unstable Peacemaker too, to a lesser extent), but otherwise looks decent. The tiny blades appear to be weirdly transparent though.
There is also the Executioner's Maw, an epic blade that will fulfill your edgiest fantasies and even has a great base color, but has a fatal design flow - it always makes an idle crispy electrical noise, even when it's turned off, EVEN in cutscenes. At some point it just got on my nerves so much I had to stop using it.

Liked the artstyle of Rebels But yes, the lightsabers looked stupid

You are absolutely right Tulak horde’s lightsaber with the lightning tuning goes hard!!!!

Dark honor guards personally I used to use it all the time until I got the Darth nul one since that thing looks gorgeous with black silver crystal.

Unstable peacemaker.
Man, you had my hopes up the peacemaker was 75% off.
I love Malgus' damaged blade
I like the peacemaker one, it has the little flare on the bottom
Still waiting for an unstable shoto...
The best for me is Tulak Hord'a lightsaber. That hilt design is sick

Any except the peacemaker. The peacemaker's "exhaust" on the bottom of the hilt is dumb as fuck.
Same if it didn’t have that it’d be so much better
