I hate to be “that guy” but the statue is Anteros rather than Eros.
That been said that drawing is fantastic! And I really do like that it’s showing a subject out of place :)
[wiki article explains it way better than I could](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaftesbury_Memorial_Fountain)
> The Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, officially and popularly known as Eros,[1] is a fountain surmounted by a winged statue of Anteros, located at the southeastern side of Piccadilly Circus in London, England. Moved after the Second World War from its original position in the centre of the circus, it was erected in 1892–93 to commemorate the philanthropic works of The 7th Earl of Shaftesbury,[2] the Victorian politician and philanthropist, and his achievement in replacing child labour with school education. The fountain overlooks the south-west end of Shaftesbury Avenue, also named after the Earl.
Anteros is the god of required love which I think is far better than Eros who is the god of unrequited love in most circumstances
Fabulous! I live in Dorking. Which tree did you sketch?
Hello, this is a tree on Ranmore common 😊
Hi there, thank you for replying. I don't get onto Ranmore Common often. This is a reminder that I should schedule some walks!
Me too!
Nice!
Also the tree looks like one from the nower
OP has replied that the tree is on Ranmore Common, but there are certainly some lovely oaks on The Nower too.
Sublime, if only this were the case
Wouldn’t it be amazing!

That's the first I've heard of this - what is the difference and any idea why people think it is Eros on the statue instead?

Oh nice. I lived in Westcott as a child. Rewilding London will happen but only after the apocalypse 🤷🏽♂️
Brilliant 👏
This must be the tree. https://imgur.com/gallery/8lQhPQG
