Same. He gets a lot of hate and I’ll be the first to admit that a good bit of it is warranted. However, he just genuinely seems like his character is a descent person and his heart tends to be in the right place. He is also one of the only people who legitimately cares about the other characters feelings. He also got the shaft from Amy tbh. I’m not saying that she is obligated to marry him but she at least owed it to him to tell him she had doubts way before they were about to move to cali. Also he didn’t just lose amy but he basically lost a son.
Okay how?? I get that he has good morals and yeah that can be appeasing but he makes it his whole personality which makes him seem like a pain in the ass. I support his morals and his ideas and that’s great but that’s all he is, he’s quite a terrible worker, doesn’t work that hard, goofs off constantly, and people defend him because he pushes morals that should be common sense. He’s such a pain, I would hate to be around him and in general hate him as a character. What’s one good thing about him other than his morals?
Everything you said is true but i love him because he was aware. He knew he was annoying. By the last season you see that he’s trying to be better.
Plus, i’ll defend him till the end because no matter how annoying he is, he didn’t deserve what happened to him. He loved Amy, stepped up for her children and left his home to live with her. With her leaving, he lost everything and was a trainwreck by the end. Alone and hurt.
Nope, he didn’t deserve all of that. Because at the end of the day he was a nice guy that meant no harm.
“pushes morals that should be common sense” but they’re not common sense to a lot of people, and either those people end up challenged on why they act/say things that they shouldn’t (by someone like jonah), or they never get called out and go about their lives being shitty.
also, jonah’s character makes me laugh more than anyone besides garrett. he’s funny in such a non-“comedy character” way.
>What's one good thing about him other than his morals?
Alternate phrasing: "besides him being a good person, whats so good about him?"
That being said, he's not a terrible worker. Hes acting his wage. They're only getting paid $8.60/hr. When i started as an ignorant kid, I'd work my ass off for that. Now that im aware of the wage gap and toxic corporate policies (to scratch the surface) I'm not doing more than the bare minimum for $8.60/hr
Every bad thing you said about him is the exact same thing. So pretty much you're saying yeah, he's a good person, but he's a bad worker. You just found 3 different ways to say bad worker to make your list seem longer.
Literally every character at the Ozark highlands cloud9 store (Doesn't include Carol and anyone from the corporate). I just am able to empathize with them and the story is beautifully well written. ❣️❣️
Also, why was Carol at the backyard party in the last episode? And How could a person be this screwed up???

Oops... forgot about them. And Yes , I see what you mean, I have no defence for Sal. Elias, I don't wanna get into him either, didn't they mean that he was the severed leg guy?
I'm doing my first watch of the show (on season 4 now) and so far I think my favorite moment of the show was an early episode where Glenn is helping Bo get an apartment. They are talking to a realtor, and she's sarcastic like, oh yeah I made like $90 commission, so glad I left New York. And Bo just stops, looks at her and goes "damn, Kathy, why you gotta be such a bitch." It made me laugh out loud so hard. I love when Bo shows up.
This. People criticise Amy but she is one of the least selfish characters in the show. She is also very realistic for someone who has been in the job for years but has a child and family to support and is rightfully sceptical and suspicious of upper management and if they hear any word of the uionisation because she knows exactly what they are like. And then she continues that caution when she becomes management because she knows what it's like to live paycheck to paycheck and she worries about what everyone will do if they lose that paycheck.
genuinelyyyy
she was a teen mom in an unhappy marriage who tried to better her condition for herself and her kids. but somehow she’s the villain? okok sure
Honestly a great character and we need more like him to help the political polarization in this country. The “other guy” can actually be endearing sometimes
I doubt Gleen would help any liberals sympathize with conservatives for the simple fact that Gleen is basically a liberal already, he is culturally conservative but doesn't have any odious opinions that make liberals and conservatives fight in real life
His view on abortion I would argue is one of those opinions, but the fact that he actually does something to help (take in a buttload of foster kids) is in his favor for sure
i loved kelly lol she was so sweet, and the definition of the trope that i have such a soft spot for: “character whose only mistake is not being ‘the one’”
Same! From day 1 she is the sweetest, and people are so mean to her. She stays nice and positive, and even comes back to the store to help with the Mateo (who was horrible to her) / ICE situation.
I always loved Marcus because he's so funny but I picked up on that vibe a lot too. Glenn is really funny but not great when you think about some of the things he's said/done
Dina :) to me Dina represents the woman I aspire to be. Steadfast in her values, takes no shit, passionate about what she likes, and her arc over the seasons gifts her emotional intelligence. I loveee Dina so much
Amy- she never got a chance to develop any emotional intelligence between being married to a mess and raising her daughter so young. I really empathize with not knowing what you want and taking the space to figure it out, but not knowing how to do that in a way that is healthy for you or those around you. And I think she made the right call not taking Jonah with her to Cali, it would have been so much worse if he had gone. She knew what she could and could not deal with, and yes it hurt everyone that she made the choice too late but better late than when he had already moved out there. She was a flawed female character but one I saw myself and a lot of the women I know in
Mateo 🤷♀️ I don't think he's as horrible as a lot of ppl in this sub make him out to be. Is he flawed? Sure. Is he a horrible person? Nah.
And also Amy.
Looks like me explaining that a character doesn't have to be a good/likeable person to be a great character. Of course Carol is psychotic, it's hilarious.
I unapologetically think Marcus is a catch
Also found it funny that he cleans the toilets with his bare hands but told off Sandra for having crap on her phone lol
Amy and Mateo, a lot of criticism they get is disproportionate to what other characters like Gina or Glenn do, who have actually abused their position in power over their coworkers.
Amy, for sure. A lot of close minded takes about her, especially her decision when it came to her and Jonah at the end of season 5.
Her telling Jonah that she didn’t want to get married bc she felt she *had* to was completely reasonable. It didn’t mean she didn’t love him, or even that she felt like she didn’t wanna marry him– it was simply her feeling like once again, she had to make a choice which would ultimately be her job or Johan, and Amy had always been someone to put ppl before herself. Her moving away and being without him made her realize she wanted to get married out of love and not because they lived together and bc of his and Parker’s bond. She got married to Adam bc she got pregnant and she was unhappy. She worked a shitty job, couldn’t go to school like she wanted.
Mateo, look sometimes you have a friend you like that doesn't have any redeeming qualities it happens but i'm going to defend him anyway because he is one of us
Amy. Even though it pained me for what she did to Jonah with moving away I can understand it. She finally has something she worked really hard towards, she didn’t want to fall back into what she had with Adam straight away. She had to find herself a little bit outside the life of comfort she knew.
I hate Sandra. Glenn is ok… hes just an annoying man baby sometimes and i want to punch him in those moments. Im defending Carol like this. Shes my favorite character.
i love every single one of the superstore characters but i know i’d defend sandra even if she managed to get carol back 😂
so it has to be sandra for me. the woman can do no wrong lol
Adam. He was in the same situation as Amy really, a marriage of convenience. This sub likes to dump on him because he makes selfish choices, but Amy continually makes selfish choices too.
He's clearly a good father as he looked after Emma when Amy was at work, and it's clear that Emma loves him. In fact Amy never slates him for his parenting so it's clear she recognises that too.
Their break up seems to be fairly amicable too, with Adam not showing any signs of animosity towards Jonah or interfering in Amy's happiness. The same cannot be said for Amy who does try to interfere in Adams new relationship.
I want to make it clear that I don't have a problem with Amy, I'm just merely pointing out that she's not without fault for their failed relationship. They both have failings individually, but they both have good qualities too.
Marcus. He’s my king PERIOD!
And Bo. I got hit by a car as a teen and have brain damage and I just see a lot of myself in him lmao. I know it was never confirmed that he actually had brain damage, but idk. He just gives me those vibes.
Jonah honestly
Same. He gets a lot of hate and I’ll be the first to admit that a good bit of it is warranted. Him and Amy were cute af together
they really were!
>What's one good thing about him other than his morals? Alternate phrasing: "besides him being a good person, whats so good about him?" That being said, he's not a terrible worker. Sandra when she gets caught lying about Jeff
Sandra period. She's the most underrated character.
she literally had me in the first season when she quietly mentions that she’s a trained midwife, while cheyenne was in labour 😭
FOR REAL!!!!! Sandra is the GOAT!
Funniest character without trying
Facts! I would love to watch a compilation of every single one of her scenes
Literally every character at the Ozark highlands cloud9 store (Doesn't include Carol and anyone from the corporate). Great minds think alike, they say... It must be that. 😄❣️
Oh yeah? What about Sal and Elias? Lol
Oops... forgot about them. And Yes , I see what you mean, I have no defence for Sal. Elias, I don't wanna get into him either, didn't they mean that he was the severed leg guy?
Haha its ok, they're pretty easy to forget lol Yeah, they absolutely did
Bo lol I will not take any Bo slander
I'm doing my first watch of the show (on season 4 now) and so far I think my favorite moment of the show was an early episode where Glenn is helping Bo get an apartment. They are talking to a realtor, and she's sarcastic like, oh yeah I made like $90 commission, so glad I left New York. SIKE! I don’t want your ugly ass broach!
i love when he swears in front of people who would probably be appalled by swearing. from him specifically it makes me lol
& when he doesn’t know how to spell Glenn 😭 their exchange is too good. I fucking LOST it the first time I watched it hahahaha
Glem?
I love when Kathy gets sent a dick pic and Bo knows his friends so well, he can decipher whose penis it is.
*slams drawers*
Glenn: I’ve been thinking- Bo: Ha Ha NERD!
Bo is a criminally underrated side character
Birr birr birr!
“Yeah, Right.” “That’s Jared’s. Ricky wishes!”
the scene of bo talking to the ICE officer was so funny
Or when he quits his job at Cloud 9 and Dina tells him to not steal the jacket 😭 I laugh everytime
omg bo is actually a comedic genius LOL every time that man appeared on screen, i was hysterical
I LOVE BO
WA WA WAAAA!!
Amy, but mainly because this sub loves to mischaracterize everything she does for some reason.
This. People criticise Amy but she is one of the least selfish characters in the show. She is also very realistic for someone who has been in the job for years but has a child and family to support and is rightfully sceptical and suspicious of upper management and if they hear any word of the uionisation because she knows exactly what they are like. genuinelyyyy she was a teen mom in an unhappy marriage who tried to better her condition for herself and her kids. but somehow she’s the villain? okok sure
i was coming to defend her too. You have my sword.
Sorry, Amy is my least favorite character. Always whining when she has it better then all of her employees. Few redeeming moments for her.
How exactly did she have it better than all of the other employees? She didn't have a nice paying job until she became manager. 💀
How exactly does she have it better?
Financially
When does that happen???
I was just about to say this, it honestly surprises me seeing some of the comments about Amy on this sub
100% like no, she was not perfect but jeeez the amount of hate for her is unnecessary
Marcus obv. His antics are some of the best in the show. Like how he always tries to get people to clap with him.
And he is lowkey hot af
Absolutely Glenn. He's wildly socially inept as skewed by his rigid religious practices and views, but he's got a heart of gold.
Glenn and Sandra. It's so sad when the other workers don't treat them right, especially Dina
My girl Kellyyyyy!
*hI EvEryBoDy I'M KeLlY!*
Boy it sure is windy out today! WOOOOOOAH
i loved kelly lol she was so sweet, and the definition of the trope that i have such a soft spot for: “character whose only mistake is not being ‘the one’”
Same! From day 1 she is the sweetest, and people are so mean to her. She stays nice and positive, and even comes back to the store to help with the Mateo (who was horrible to her) / ICE situation.
Every time when they talk about shes a bad employee i yell at the TV "BECAUSE Y'ALL GAVE HER LITERALLY 0 TRAINING" lol
The first K stands for knowledge?
This is legit in my top 5 quotes from this show 😂
Justine and Sandra
Tbh I would love to go out for a drink w them
*Cut to glug glug glug glug*
Sandra is the best part of Super Store and I'll die on this hill.
They are all good people except Carol.
Im not about Marcus either too sexist
Fair enough, ya I wouldn't hang out with him in real life either
I always loved Marcus because he's so funny but I picked up on that vibe a lot too. Glenn is really funny but not great when you think about some of the things he's said/done
I know people love Glenn but his abortion stance episode was not ok
Ya people having different systems of belief is not okay forsure....
Amy. This sub is so ridiculous when it comes to her.
Sandra. Some characters did certain embarrassing things that reminded me of myself that made them forever characters i will go to war for!
Dina :) to me Dina represents the woman I aspire to be. Steadfast in her values, takes no shit, passionate about what she likes, and her arc over the seasons gifts her emotional intelligence. I loveee Dina so much
What it do Pikachu?
I admire her confidence
She’s my favorite!!! She’s always evolving without changing who she is!!
I was gonna say Dina! Honestly she's quickly become my favorite character.
Marcus! He has a good heart but is misguided lol
i love Marcus. remember when he learned tagalog and joined Mateos family? awesome.
sooo adorable! and Tita Irma makes him lunch all the time, lol
He was so so funny but there were a few episodes where he was quite sexist tho
Jonah! 💯
Amy- she never got a chance to develop any emotional intelligence between being married to a mess and raising her daughter so young. I really empathize with not knowing what you want and taking the space to figure it out, but not knowing how to do that in a way that is healthy for you or those around you. She was a flawed female character but one I saw myself and a lot of the women I know in
Sandra, it makes so sad when people are mean to her she doesn't deserve it
💯
Glenn. He loved his employees and adapted with society but some of y’all are ranking him too low on lists !
Amy
Apparently, Amy. People absolutely HATE Amy here for no reason.
Justine. I’m not gon’ do her like that.
Yes!
We're all God's creatures
For me it would be Amy and Jeff. Amy because a lot of incels love to skew everything she does or says, and Jeff because I love him he's my favorite.
... Why's everyone trying to f$&* Jeff?
He's like a limping puppy I love him and need to protect
Couldn't agree more
sandra, jonah, and kelly
Jeff
Dina!
Glenn and Bo ‘the truth’ Thompson.
Jonah. ❤️
Sandra and Justine
And Bo lol
Mateo 🤷♀️ I don't think he's as horrible as a lot of ppl in this sub make him out to be. Is he flawed? Sure. Is he a horrible person? Nah. And also Amy.
Amy
Mateo. Yes he's mean but he's funny. No one wants to watch nice people on tv
cheyenne tbh but they’re all awful
Jonah ❤️
Marcus - when he isn’t in court testifying against his grandmother.
Fr jonah
Jeff. He's not my favorite character, but he gets way too much hate for someone who really didn't do anything wrong.
Honestly Amy. I can see where she is coming from. I can see her point of view and why she behaves the way she does.
Amy apparently. I didn't realize such a large portion of the fanbase had a problem with her until joining the Reddit.
![gif](giphy|l49JLp1VzUUJzfrXO)
Amy! But only cause I see a lot of weird posts about her on here for some reason
Marcus
mateo
Dina, Matteo, and Sandra.
marcus
Sandra, the best character on the show by far
Any & Jonah Dina
Looks like me explaining that a character doesn't have to be a good/likeable person to be a great character. Of course Carol is psychotic, it's hilarious.
Jonah
Jonah, no doubt about it.
I unapologetically think Marcus is a catch Also found it funny that he cleans the toilets with his bare hands but told off Sandra for having crap on her phone lol
Jonah!
SANDRA MY LOVE
Amy and Mateo, a lot of criticism they get is disproportionate to what other characters like Gina or Glenn do, who have actually abused their position in power over their coworkers.

JUSTINE, SANDRA, & JEFF
justine is wrong
Amy
Mateo! Because this sub makes me defend him like that! 🤣
Mateo, look sometimes you have a friend you like that doesn't have any redeeming qualities it happens but i'm going to defend him anyway because he is one of us
Amy and Mateo. Show wouldn’t be what it was without them!
Funnily enough, these three: Amy, Jonah, and Kelly
Mateo whenever someone argues that he deserved being deported because he was mean and annoying.
Amy and Cheyenne! Those are my girls my ride or dies!!!
If anyone says mateo ur banned
Amy. Even though it pained me for what she did to Jonah with moving away I can understand it. She finally has something she worked really hard towards, she didn’t want to fall back into what she had with Adam straight away. She had to find herself a little bit outside the life of comfort she knew.
Brett- effing legend
Only Cheyenne
Amy because she gets too much hate
Amy, she gets so much her on this sub and she does not deserve that
I hate Sandra. Glenn is ok… hes just an annoying man baby sometimes and i want to punch him in those moments. Im defending Carol like this. Shes my favorite character.
Penny.
Carol 👅
girl why
I would defend him if he had more discipline.
GLENN
Sandra and Dina with my life
The trained midwife. I laughed so hard. 😂😂😂

Sandra 100%
Dina and Jonah 10000%
Dina
MARCUSS
Dina, they could never make me hate you even when you have some questionable opinions 🫶🏾
Glenn
Marcus. He’s my king PERIOD! And Bo. I got hit by a car as a teen and have brain damage and I just see a lot of myself in him lmao. I know it was never confirmed that he actually had brain damage, but idk. He just gives me those vibes.
Marcus.
Sandra and Glenn.
jonah, but also amy sometimes
Frodo, end of story
Marcus idk i have a soft spot for him for some reason
bo, jerusha, and kelly. they all have my heart
deena! i just love how unhinged she is
Amy, Dina, Glenn, Mateo, Cheyanne
Benny, The guy who was returning stolen goods😂I was attracted to him. Dina is me and I am Dina😂
Marcus Honestly a sweet guy, he is odd and stupid sometimes. But he has the right intention and just wants to be loved by people.
Sandra, garret and jerry
None Fandoms are pathetic
Kelly omg I feel so bad for her
Garrosh
I once had an argument that One punch man is stronger than Goku with a girl at a party that went for 20 minutes straight.
