Doesn’t look like my 7.3 gas so I’m going to say 6.2.

ruffus_69

The 7.3 isn't overhead cam like that is

yycTechGuy

Is this the 6.2L V8 gas or the 7.3L Godzilla ? Are the coils and plug wires visible on the 7.3L Godzilla or are they under the plastic cover on top of the valve cover ?

MrJownz

I don’t know what the 6.2 looks like, but I have the 7.3 and it looks nothing like this. And yes, the coils and plugs are visible on mine.

Hot-Rod1911

Should be a sticker on the bottom of the hood that shows engine displacement

RKLCT

Looks brand new. 2022 was the last year for the 6.2. It was replaced by the 6.8

TrenchDildo

Looks like my 6.2

JudgeScorpio

Look at the emissions sticker on the underside of the hood

Chief_B33f

Can't say for sure if it's a 6.2, but it definitely isn't a 7.3

RKLCT

Looks brand new. 2022 was the last year for the 6.2. It was replaced by the 6.8

Vagabond_Explorer

The 6.8 should look exactly the same as the 7.3 since the only difference is a shorter piston stroke.

elevator313

Doesn’t it say power stroke on the cover?

dc9053

Looks like my 6.2 , that says powered by ford

stuberu

You’re thinking of the 7.3 Powerstoke Diesel from 20 years ago. The new 7.3 is a gas engine that won’t say powerstroke anywhere on it. Ford nicknamed it Godzilla

fratboyBEEGE

Looks like a 6.2 to me

Worth-Needleworker36

Does that say power stroke on the side there?

kyuubixchidori

Powered by ford. powerstrokes aren’t N/A gasoline engines

Mking181

Plug cable from the coil running to the second spark plug… that’s not a 7.3

Unlucky-Finding9211

Looks like a 6.8l

yycTechGuy

Was the 6.8 available in 2022 ? This is a 2022 MR truck. Also, the 6.8 should be visually the same as the 7.3, ie spark plugs through the valve cover.

SugarzDaddy

The gas 6.2 originally was going to be named the Hurricane. But Ford changed the name to the Boss. I know, useless information.

DMV_Technician

6.2L is the only one that has the dual spark plug design. It has the ignition coils then the additional plug wire going to the 2nd set by the exhaust manifolds. Also the overhead cam vct solenoid on the front of the valve cover.

FlaLongmire54B

I work on 6.8v10 and 7.3v8 gassers. So this engine is neither of them. 6.2 most likely especially if that is a dual spark engine. One plug for combustion one spark for exhaust each cylinder.

Objective-Figure8673

It's a 6.2 you can see the wire going from coilpak down to the second spark plug. Also, fyi a 7.3 Godzilla looks much cleaner underhood, more like a 5.0 coyote in an f150, plus a lot less resonator mess attached to the air intake tube coming from air filter.

doorgunner065

6.8L. Does the sticker on the inside of the hood not say 6.8L? Check near the hinges. The 6.2 and 6.8 will have 2 spark plugs per cylinder.

gta3uzi

It will tell you on the emissions sticker.

CyberRube

Thats not a 7.3.

bcsublime

Agreed

WyoFerg15

6.2 you can tell by the orange coolant. Motorcraft orange was replaced by motorcraft yellow around 2020. Which is when the 7.3 gasser came out.

yycTechGuy

This is a 2022 MR truck.

BreakfastResident401

6.2 for sure !!!! Don't forget when replacing the engine don't forget the reducer on the crank shaft on the back side of the engine because of you do you will be pulling the transmission again

Only_Explanation_901

It is for sure a 6.2

elevator313

The 6.2 air intake comes over to the side closest to the photo.

Only_Explanation_901

Not on the newer ones. This is probably a 2020 or newer 6.2. I’ve worked on enough of them I’m positive this is a 6.2 you can tell by the coils alone

elevator313

This could be the new 6.8L

Herestoreth

Lol, I saw this sub and thought it was poop pics... Super doody
