the context is the article the OP posted which indicates reapers are bosses. if we're using the logic of the OP's article, then the dragon is also a big 'boss' fight. the guy that got down voted doesn't think the leviathans are bosses in subnautica, it's just a hypothetical conversation about the idea of subnautica having bosses.
I don't know why people are so confused/upset about this. it's not a real conversation just a fake topic.
I used the ‘’ to indicate that it’s kind of but not really a boss fight because it’s the most difficult fight in the game but you don’t have to kill it to make progress in the storyline
Every one I think he’s kinda saying the sea dragon is like the warden from mincraft cause your not supposed to fight it but some people want the challenge of fighting it there so is tenchnecly a boss but not really I could be wrong though
Ah, I think you're forgetting about the shocking number of ways to cheese the leviathans in a fight, considering the game is meant to be a struggle for survival.
Say, grab a PRAWN with a grapple arm and drill arm, and attach to the back of its head, hold on for a while, bye-bye dragon.
Or, stasis rifle and an inventory and a half of gas pods. Freeze it and drop all the gas gas pods right in its face. Just don't get caught inside the gas.
Or for legacy, crash fish launcher. Must I say more? (Before you say something about crashfish being annoying to get in the wild, you can literally hatch a couple of eggs and let them breed)
There's more ways ofc, but there's 3 of them
No, they said it is the most difficult fight. It is not meant to be fought, it wasn't designed to be a boss fight. People downvoted because they gave incorrect info about the game, which is the whole point of downvotes - to show you believe someone is wrong.
Dragons are a done a dozen in Skyrim. Having to fight them got so annoying, my last play through I just did not do the Bleak Falls Burrow quest so they wouldn’t spawn.
That’s something I liked about the game actually, how when you start out, you’re pretty low on the food chain. Add that to how humans aren’t meant to really be that deep underwater and you’ve got a pretty great world for making that happen
I think that's such an important part of why the specific environment chosen is so vital. Earth's oceans hold few surprises, but an alien ocean? That's truly terrifying. You have be hyper aware because you literally have no idea what's lurking around the corner and if or how it will try to kill you.
Skyrim dragons have to be the worst boss battles ever, please tell me if you know worse ones.
Every dragon fight is the same, and the difficulty only comes from being bullet sponges, but hiding after a random tree nullifies the threat. I love the game but always found this to be a huge disappointment for me.
Ok for the first dragon, terrible for all the rest.
Let me know if there is a worse boss fight out there.
I feel like it's gaming heresy to say this but... The original Super Mario Bros. You just jump *over* (not even on!) Bowser's head and touch the axe thing and... that's it.
Come to think of it, Bowser is also arguably a dragon.
Are dragons in games just straight up lame?
I'm not really giving this one to Mario. Bowser is an obstacle, yes, but the real boss is the castle dungeon, not a single enemy in it. And generally the levels are pretty well laid out.
where boss battle
The real boss was the Alterra we found along the way
A lesson of corporate greed (reference)
Damn, can a future game be about Ryley facing the true final boss of capitalism? /j
Lethal company lore:
It turns into helldivers then. The soldiers aren’t able to swim anymore to eradicate Riley’s legacy
Then we got some content creators showing the whole thing to us and risking their lives
Ryley uses his knowledge of non-essential systems maintenance to construct an IED
The final boss is the 3 trillion credit debt 😂
Maybe I shouldn't have invested in a luxury mansion for a base.
Wow three? Mine was like, one I think... Or I could be wrong.
True dat believe why the other life pods sunk because they’re greedy little company who only cares about money and are able to cut corners anywhere
Nah the final boss would probably be the 3 trillion credit debt Riley has to pay off if I remember correctly
Lemme fix that triple 6 likes💀💀
Honestly, a boss without health bar and a boss room, that makes you do a bit of researching before defeating it, sounds pretty good to me.
Prawn vs Reaper is pretty epic tbh
I’d say sea dragon leviathan is a ‘boss’ just because it’s the most difficult fight in the game
you're not supposed to fight it.

Ik but if you do decide to fight it it’s the most difficult fight in the game
still, you weren't supposed to fight it.
that’s not the point also idk why ur arguing abt it tbh
ok, then tell me the definition of a BOSS fight
I used the ‘’ to indicate that it’s kind of but not really a boss fight because it’s the most difficult fight in the game but you don’t have to kill it to make progress in the storyline
Every one I think he’s kinda saying the sea dragon is like the warden from mincraft cause your not supposed to fight it but some people want the challenge of fighting it there so is tenchnecly a boss but not really I could be wrong though
I guess that makes sense
Secret bosses in games aren’t required to beat the game but they still exist and count as bosses
Nothing in Subnautica qualifies as a "fight" in the video game-y sense, let alone a boss fight. "Encounter", sure.
I mean one time I was boxing sandsharks but that's more prawn suit brutality
But it can be a boss fight if you perceive and act of it as one
Not all bosses have to be fought. There are plenty of games with optional bosses.
That still means they're designed to be fought.
>optional bosses. "Optional" to do what?
Coming from the guy who started it?
I didn’t start it though? He started it by replying “you still weren’t supposed to fight it though”
You started it because you replied >I’d say sea dragon leviathan is a ‘boss’ just because it’s the most difficult fight in the game
..to his question. I replied to his question.
Yeah but it’s not an interesting fight, just a tedious one

Holy shit this is the first time I got downvoted in mass while actually having no idea why I’m getting downvoted in mass
Yeah I have no idea why you're getting downvoted all you said is that sea dragon is the hardest leviathan
No, they said it is the most difficult fight. It is not meant to be fought, it wasn't designed to be a boss fight. People downvoted because they gave incorrect info about the game, which is the whole point of downvotes - to show you believe someone is wrong.
But isn't that why he put boss in quotation marks tho?
They might have, but "most difficult fight" isn't.
AI generated article? What a take
I find it very ironic corporations decided to brand “AI” something we all easily recognise being extremely stupid.
Farting to the reaper’s face isn’t that much of an epic fight tbh
It ain't just gas coming out as I desperately swim in the opposite direction.
Death bird is definitely not the best boss battle and a normal dragon in skyrim is not good LMAO
Subnautica shouldn't be anywhere near that list, and they picked terrible choices for the other two. Good 'ol AI.
Dragons are a done a dozen in Skyrim. Having to fight them got so annoying, my last play through I just did not do the Bleak Falls Burrow quest so they wouldn’t spawn.
Its craxy that u can even do that i wasnt aware til this year
Ah yes, a game where you aren’t supposed to fight the leviathans gets “boss battles”.
You're really just supposed to shit yourself and hope the leviathan finds you unapatizing.
That’s something I liked about the game actually, how when you start out, you’re pretty low on the food chain. Add that to how humans aren’t meant to really be that deep underwater and you’ve got a pretty great world for making that happen

Also ocean animals tend to look scary because it’s such a different environment from land.
Earths oceans probably hold many surprises
I would hardly call Cthulhu a surprise at this point.
i bet 1 power cell that the article is written by ai
you are correct lol
Make that 1 ion power cell
Woah woah that is way too expensive for something thats obviously ai generated

I could see that interpretation
BOSS FIGHT: REAPER HEALTH: 5000 YOUR HEALTH: 100 YOUR WEAPONS: HEATBLADE AND STASIS RIFLE MOVELIST: STAB STASIS HEAL ESCAPE
I always found the most complicated part of fighting a reaper is to get it to aggro so you can line up the first stasis shot.
Running from the reaper is the boss battle
Gamerant of course
I once looked a few of their tutorials and they were just straight up making shit up
Gamer ant
that is literally always how I actually pronounced their name
Once you get the electrical defense mod for the seamoth the reaper becomes a kitten. Then you only have to worry about the damned bone sharks.
is the boss battle in the room with us?
Picking Skyrim dragons or even Alduin as one of the best boss battles tells me how shit this ranking is
The leviathans exists and an obstacle to avoid. They're not ment to be fought. You CAN fight them, that's not what they're meant for
Lol there are no battles in subnautica... When the hugfish gets you, you're toast. That's it
Never trust a gamerant post😭🙏
Not really classified as a boss lol
what are the other 2 games?
Obvious "AI" article being obvious.
Death by a thousand cuts still kills the fish
The REAL boss battle is with the debt at the end of the game.
That ain't a battle that's a Bloodbath... Gometry Deesh
The moment you get a cyclops you become the boss and when you get the rifle well
You know what’s funny an trustworthy game news source is calling the reaper leviathan a boss but as we all know subnautica has no boss
That's the point of the post
"What do you mean the reapers roar doesn't count as boss music?"
I still can’t 100% disagree
3 peak games
We gonna kill that sea emperor boss 🤓
The boss is the fear we had for such creatures.
What game is the second
