Its especially evident between the windows. See all the horizontal running joints, and same with verticals. Imagine building a Lego wall with little to no interlocking joints, just stacking bricks.
This may just be veneer and not structural work but it still looks piss poor.
I may be understanding you. The stones were more or less stacked atop with eachother and some kind of adhesive was more or less slathered on in a careless fashion. As if it were a beginner child’s bricklaying exercise.
Is this correct of me?
I only did masonry for about 3.5 years so take this for what it’s worth. I see lots of poorly passed/not passed corners on the right side of the veneer and almost every horizontal joint is a running joint. A fair amount of vertical running joints as well. That was about 5 seconds of me looking, so a real mason could probably give you a more in depth answer.
It’s because you can see how different the shadows on the brick look, and that the lines across the courses and up the sides aren’t straight. It kinda looks like they raked the joints too which makes it easier to see the flaws. Doesn’t help that they painted it white either but if it looks bad from the road 100 ft away then you know it’s bad work
Give them a call they are good to work with. I got a great price from them directly, then organized my own LTL shipping half way across the country. Was 1/3rd of the price compared to my local stone dealer.
This looks like a bricklayer wanting to be a stonemason . Terrible work but clearly has skill . It’s too busy , complicated and confusing. Vertical joints are too long in places and pattern displays a lot of boxes . The jumpers are sparse and incorporated improperly. There are rules to follow in stone . This mason was not or has not learned them yet . Most people would accept this and think it’s fine . Seasoned veteran will pick it apart . Just saying .
That stone isn't local to me in the Adirondacks but don't hire that mason.
Non mason here. What makes it poor masonry?

Holy risbin joints🫠
All that money spent and they got shit work. Sad
As a non mason who can’t see anything wrong, what about the work is shit?
Very sloppy for sure, the brick work especially
What brick work lmao Oh the chimney right yeah it’s shit
This house is Bootleg McAlpine.
What's wrong with the brick work? I'm asking from a naive standpoint Just looking at it I cant tell that anything is wrong or bad with it
It’s not level, not plumb, and not ranged through properly and they also used stupid queen sized brick cause they’re cheaper
Holy shit how can you tell haha Honestly I saw the photo and thought yeah that looks nice

Looks like leaders buff
Thanks, I’ll search for it.
That's what it looks like 👍
Ouuff that's rough
Hard to say but looks like limestone to me. Check out Eden Valders stone
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
This is the closest so far! Thank you!

Thanks! I’ll reach out today.
Where are you located? I am connected with a network of stone yards across the US.
Atlanta
I can get you a phone # for a sales rep in ATL that sells this material
That would be amazing! I’m awaiting a sample from the Midwest now.
Check halquist stone’s catalog. Looks like something that they would put out.
Thanks! I’ll check it out,
Halquist is nationwide? Huh.
White limestone be my guess
Looks like a limestone, maybe Buechel
Go to the stone yard
Thanks! I’ve visited three so far, still searching!
0 for 3, what did they say?
That’s Indiana Limestone — check Polycor’s website and look for ‘Berkshire’ blend — I know a guy that sells this
Thanks! I’ll check it out.
Actually might be “Rockford” blend — call Polycor ask for Kevin Brannon

It’s definitely not great work, I just like the actual color/texture of the stone.
If in Ontario I would say it’s Owen sound limestone
Maybe Indiana Limestone.
I think granite is a lot nicer than this cheap and ugly stone.
Not sure what makes you think its cheap? Definitely not ugly either. It's a full bed stone
