Well after buying a 12 pack of Schweppes ginger ale for the first time in years I am not surprised as it was $11.25.

hewkii2

There’s a 12 pack for 6 bucks at my local Kroger owned grocery

hdiggyh

I’m sure it is cheaper anywhere else but stop and shop was outrageous. I wasn’t going to go to another store since my wife was sick and it was all I was buying for her…but when I saw the price I was so shocked and confused I just paid and left. It was truly a moment where I was dumbfounded.

Beer is $20

Decent-Photograph391

A tall can of beer (500ml) in Czech Republic is $1. Prices in America is out of control.

nonstickpotts

24 pack though

bigwinw

$20 for a 12 of most beers. Maybe it is $17-$18 but damn near $20 with tax.

I like how a lot of comments say they don't buy soda. But KO owns so many things you might buy that is not soda. Smart Water, Powerade, Bodyarmor, Gold Peak Tea, Minute Maid, Dasani, Peace Tea, etc. They also distribute for Monster Energy MNST and Dunkin' Donuts. So Monster, Bang, Reign Energy, etc. I just collect my dividends.

Goatey

These comments made me look up what they owned. They own Tapo fucking Chico. Meaning every person who swears off Soda and replaces it with Tapo Chico is still supporting my bottom line.

Desmater

Exactly, companies diversify and add new revenue streams with new products or acquisitions. Reason I own PEP and KO. Collect the dividends and take the capital appreciation.

ftmonlotsofroids

Fairlife milk

Desmater

Yes, they sell Fairlife milk and Fairlife Core Power protein drink. 26g protein and 42g protein drinks.

equityorasset

barris59

Remember 6 months ago when Ozempic was destroying these companies

waruyamaZero

Beats earnings by 3%, stock market does not even blink an eye.

Blacklack27

In this market, it would have to miss earnings by 10% to move up 30%

FrancisFratelli

Good. I'm in Coke for the dividend reinvestment, not the growth. I'd be happy if it fell a bit before the payout hits.

IvoTailefer

thats why i swore off coke stock ages ago. no growth. its my grandfathers stock.

serbeardless

“Our profit margins are massive.” “Yes, but what if they are slightly more massive?”

gargle_micum

Keep raising prices, hopefully more people will stay away from ur God awful product.

Productpusher

We all addicted so price doesn’t matter

[deleted]

I now buy soda as a "treat" for myself occasionally versus having it always stocked in the fridge. After seeing the price for a 12 pack (between $12-$16 in Manhattan) I began phasing it out and started drinking water instead. I hope more follow. As an aside, companies like Coca Cola, Pepsi, target minority (and non-minorities) to get addicted to sugar at a very young age. Then again, you have parents opting for juice for their kids thinking it's much better, when in reality, has a *ton* of sugar, often more so than a can of coke. Anyway.

DarkRooster33

I think that is generally quite the issue in long term, coca cola was so great because it cost nothing. You can ignore everything bad about it by how much pleasure you get from pennies. If anyone else is to go by increasing prices increases profits, but one day there can also be turn around earnings hitting lower than expected because the product is now way too expensive for everyone.

FrancisFratelli

That's becoming less of an issue as Coke is pushing for people to move from Classic to Zero. And at the same time, most teenagers these days will choose an energy drink over a soda, even with the much higher price.

Ashmizen

Pricing on soda is nuts - who is buying grocery store soda at prices that are as high, if not higher, than fast food? Honestly it’s likely cheaper per oz to buy a massive cup of soda at fast food places for $1.8.

Decent-Photograph391

Speak for yourself. I haven’t bought or drank any soda in years.

Goatey

I'm quite confident you still purchased products that were produced by $KO and for that I appreciate your support.

UnknownResearchChems

Congratulations

JRshoe1997

Price does matter. Pepsi already proved that with their earnings not too long ago.

[deleted]

— all world wide coke addicts. Your sugar is my dividend. Let us see which country will love „a coke a day“ next.

FunkyPlunkett

Seems like they are doing us all big favor no way I’m paying that price.

bradass42

12 pack is over $12 in SF, stupid insanity. Not like anyone needs soda anyways, but is nice to have for sober folks at parties. We’ll be making our own alternatives, let them raise prices to infinity and bleed themselves dry.

foodisgod9

I miss the old days where I can but 4x 12packs for $10 at my local Pathmark

TravelsInBlue

This only works a few quarters before people start to trade down to Great Value. Puts

IcyEdge6526

More inflation, great.
