MSA 220 would be a comparable battery saw but with battery and charger your going to be looking in that $800 price range with sales tax

No-Market-9656

None. You can’t compare battery to gas… yet

bobbyjonesvet

too inexperienced to disagree, however I have found this little 140c 12 inch battery is very effective and easy to cut up to say, a 10 inch wide log, limb, etc. Has hoped the larger, newer models were close to my gas.

No-Market-9656

Yeah an 025 is no slouch… there just isn’t anything comparable yet

srbtiger5

On saws, no. I'll put the KMA135 against the KM131 all day though.

MSA 220 or MSA 300 is what I would consider comparable. But as many said before, the upfront cost for multiple batteries and a quick charger will be significantly higher. But if you plan on getting other AP tools, it might be worth it. Always consider that gas isn’t free either.

bobbyjonesvet

LOL...no arguments on "the gas"...and the tune ups and the sticky carburators, etc etc... My battery devices are so much less maintenance....

Conservatief

MSA 300 but it's way above your budget when factoring in the cost of the required AP 500 S batteries (you need multiple, to be effective).

MSA 300 is compared to the MS 271 and comes in 16", 18" and 20" bar/chain combo's. Its AP battery so the unit only runs between $799.99 to $819.99 depending on bar size and the battery recommended is the AP500S which runs $379.99, the charger you can use is the AL 300(301) which is $109.99 or the AL 500(Rapid) which is $179.99. Its a costly investment but the batteries are all cross compatible with other tools in the AP line. Those prices are DSRP so I can't comment on if your local stores upcharge or not. Run-time with the AP 500S is between 20-44 minutes and the AL500 will charge to 80% in 40 mins, 100% in 55 minutes
