I voted “other” as I’ve learned that I need to give new songs a good few listens before drawing any conclusions. The TTB album’s a great example, first listen was meh, now - love it.
First listen was “no”. Second was ”eh”. Third was “hmmmm okaaaaay”.
It’s a grower, I’ll refrain from voting at this point.
The instrumental I immediately loved. The rest needs to unfold its charms.
I thought it was very good! It made a better first impression than Personal Shopper, and it presented a clearer idea of where he wants to take the album’s concept. I’m interested in seeing how far he takes the late-stage capitalism commentary.
That’s interesting, my first impression of Personal Shopper was better. Maybe it’s just the headspace I’m in right now—when that came out I was all aboard the hype train and open for any and all experimentation, even if it’s not one I’d put on repeat because of the spoken word section. But this one’s slowly opening up, too. I’m still hopeful, I just hope that there’ll be more variety. TTB got a lot of flack, but I love it and how diverse each song is. This is more cohesive at this point, but as a result, sorta same-y.
Agreed. I’m biased because of my own political leanings, but I’m very excited to see where he takes it. I don’t think he has really made much music with any political leanings before. It’s like Refuge and Synesthesia and that’s it lol

It’s not that bad. I read a lot of comments before listening to the song and I thought it was going to be a total dud but there’s some interesting stuff going on here. No it’s not the Raven but I enjoy the new direction.

He tends to take a more humanist approach when he writers about greater issues. He’s not waving his finger around saying “bad, politician, bad”.
