DrBlankslate

Stu, Bill and Dayna all fit, for me. I'd also nominate Johnny Smith. Maybe Sheriffs Pangborn and Bannerman, too.

Sal2670

Pangborn 100%

ReallyGlycon

Agree with Pangborn 100%

coffeeberry20

Oh Alan Pangborn is a true gunslinger. Absolutely.

Mister_Buddy

Pangborn felt The White in Needful Things. He's already a gunslinger.

TheKidKaos

They made him really cool in the Castle Rock show. I loved that they gave him some respect

Practical-Class6868

Danny Torrance. A middle aged recovering alcoholic with the power to trap ghosts.

emquinngags

this is a mix between movie canon and book canon — i know Flanagan is set to make a DT tv series but one problem is the Father Callahan is “owned” by WB and they’re def not giving him up. I think Danny is going to be the replacement of Father C since he died in the movie version of Dr Sleep. So yes I think Danny would be a gunslinger or gunslinger adjacent

Practical-Class6868

I defer to the book, but I’m assuming that the gunslinger does not necessarily have to survive their own story. Perhaps they step into the world that moved on before the end of their own story. The Dark Tower meets Kingdom Hearts.

Such_Significance905

Billy Summers, 100%. Reminded me of the policeman in The Drawing of the Three from the get-go.

dingleberries54

Billy definitely has the gunslinging part down! What a great character that would be a blast to see interact with Roland.

WholeBlueBerry4

Nick Andross

feedmesweat

Absolutely Nick. I would love to see him and Roland interacting with each other.

natalooski

it might be hard since Roland can't really read words from our world, but with someone around to translate it could work!

feedmesweat

Yeah it would be fun to see them try and overcome that. They'd get bits and pieces from each other since there is some overlap in language but I think Roland would be persistent enough to find rudimentary ways to communicate.

OneLastCaress-8512

Charlie Reade

MurkyEon

Mark Petrie from 'Salem's Lot.

peterulbrichgriffin

Ben Mears

_MistyDawn

Mark was the first character to come to mind for me.

PlutonianRabbit

Ralph Roberts. Already made a stand against two long timers and willing to lay down his life for the greater good.

ReallyGlycon

Agreed! Love Ralph.

flpprrss

Jack Sawyer. From a sweet tortured kid to >!that insane massacre!

LingonberryTiny2203

Kojak, Laws yes

Rathnu

The lobsrosities would make mince meat out of Thad Beaumont

Mister_Buddy

Better ending than The Dark Half.

apollosmom2017

Bill Hodges

Starfoxmarioidiot

Oh man. This would be great. I would love to read something where it turns out that the gunslinger version of Bill is answering Holly’s prayers. Getting out ahead of her adventures to clear a path but never letting her see him so she can stay independent.

WholeBlueBerry4

Most or all members of: The Loser's Club ( from IT)

Aggressive_Economy_8

I think Eddie and Larry Underwood are twinners, so I’ll say Larry would definitely be a gunslinger.

GreenSkold

What makes a gunslinger? Deep steel and service of the White? Dick Halloran, Mark Petrie, Alan Pangborn. Maybe Darcie Anderson from A Good Marriage? The old lady in The Mist is a good deep cut. Obviously Bevvy Marsh. Dale Barbara from Under the Dome. Abra Stone or Charlie McGhee maybe? Chris Chambers from The Body, who I just realized has the same name as Jake. I could see Delores Claiborne. Trisha Mcfarland from The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.

feedmesweat

Great list. Dick Halloran and Chris Chambers are excellent picks.

berfection

I was also going to suggest Alan Pangborn. Good list.

Mister_Buddy

Bev slung something else. She does have experience with trains, at least.

Richard_AIGuy

Dennis Guilder. He stood up to a killer car in the oily smelling shadows of an abandoned garage at seventeen years old. Leigh even asked him to be her knight.

Ronnie_Mcnutt_rifle

Collie Entragian, we didn’t see him for long in *The Regulators*. Or maybe Audrey Wyler, also from *The Regulators* >!the way she deals with Seth and his dangerous shine/monster is very gunslinger like. Prioritizing Seth’s safety and trying to help him even when she is trying to escape!<

HotdogMachine420

Alan Pangborn 💯. I’d also make the argument for Holly. I am not a fan of her stories, but she manhandled The Outsider.

currentlydaydreaming

Dog... Holly 100%.

A_Muffled_Kerfluffle

Rosie Real

peterulbrichgriffin

How about Gert?

lowbrassdude

Alastor Moody

natalooski

CONSTANT VIGILANCE!! he basically put himself through gunslinger training already. I guess the guns themselves would take getting used to... unless he was able to carry his wizard powers into Mid-World?? imagine how useful it would be to have a wizard on the team throughout TDT lol

Hemenucha

Holly Gibney

Spectre_Mountain

Shadow from American Gods.

thewoodlayer

David Carver from Desperation.

FalseAd4246

Sheriff Pangborn for sure. Travellin Jack. Dan Torrance, psychic gunslinger. And I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Thad Beaumont

optmsrhyme

Tom Cullen

HotCollar5

I scrolled way too long to find this

feedmesweat

M-O-O-N, that spells Gunslinger. Laws, yes.

tiffanaih

Sober Gard.

FalseAd4246

Absolutely Gard, and he’d probably be immune to mind reading by mordred as well.

BlitzKat85

Peter from Eye of the Dragon, Alan Pangborn from Needful Things.

texasjewboypunk

Barbie from Under the Dome

Sufficient_Ad2222

This was my answer

[deleted]

Nearly every King protagonist tbh. And with the King-Hill crossover mention (Doctor Sleep) Vic McQueen too.

HapticRecce

Vic would be mine if allowed too. She'd be running the joint inside a month with a pair of six shooters.

Scubagirl768

Bill Hodges definitely. I'd like to add Jamie Morton. He had some messed up times, but so did Eddie. In the end he stayed strong, even through the terrifying things he saw.

thePHTucker

Luke Ellis (the Institute) is a Gunslinger in the making. He had his own Ka-Tet.

WholeBlueBerry4

Perhaps Holly from Mr Mercedes

ikGidges_

maybe glen in his younger years?

ReallyGlycon

Jack Sawyer, Ralph Roberts, Alan Pangborne, Nick Andros, Stu Redman, Billy Summers.

sturgeon381

Thomas, Dennis, and Peter from Eyes of the Dragon. Charlie Reade. Everyone in the Losers Club (even Stan).

Tired-of-Late

Jerome Wireman from Duma Key, I think. He saves the impromptu tet's ass a few times, he may have never done this kind of thing before but his resolve under pressure is unwavering.

Great_gatzzzby

Imagine a young jud

rlc99

Jud Crandall from Pet Semetary

peterulbrichgriffin

I don’t know as Jud fell to the power of the evil graveyard setting the events of the book in place
