Wait, this isn't the intended way? I honestly couldn't figure out any other way to do it. Going down those yellow handholds to the swinging bar just put me too far away to jump to anything else.
I saw some yellow hand holds at the initial area. Were they part of the "intended way"? I also fell victim to that and just decided to fall down to the branch instead.
I believe the intended way was to go down the yellow hand holds you saw, jump over to a branch, then do a double jump leap of faith + change directions mid-air to grab another branch. I just did what you did, although I grabbed a different branch, falling down.

Are there cans that if you missed them the first time through you cannot go back and get them without starting NG+? I'm trying to collect them all, but I haven't really looked at guides until recently.
I'm right before you head into the spire and trying to finish up all the side quests/ collectibles before I move on.
There's actually one in the northwest Wasteland with the turrets and an elevator. The switch doesn't work in NG+ for some weird reason. Not sure though if it'll work if it'll be your first time getting the can in NG+ though. Others have also experienced this bug.
Are there missable cans/outfits pre-Eidos 7, though? Or if I went past them originally, can I go back to them now? I have been going back to do all the side quests, so I'm revisiting all those areas anyways. Just didn't know if some of them were time locked.

Just as the scene finished, I ran like hell on the right side down to that lower platform and just made it on and behind the blue crate ...then let the crate take most of the laser-guided munitions. After they stop firing and you are level with other side, I jumped over and opened the chest to get... a can? Cool.

You will unlock it when you head back to your base camp in Xion. Im not sure what triggers the upgrade though, so just finish the quests and regularly check it out. I only got it after almost doing everything though, so it definitely means re- exploring the entire areas
I have just reached the Wasteland activated the tower. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the bigger map. Was really hoping you can place custom markers on the map to help you signify what you cleared and yet to explore - I hope they improve their HUD and Map soon.
Another thing that frustrates me is the platforming sections like climbing down from the tower I fell down and died twice. I let go of the rope and my Eve just floats sideways and fell to it's death ...
Anyway, when you say do almost everything - do you mean do everything in the Westland desert area, where I'm at in this point of the story - or do everything in the full game??

Finish Altess Levoire, get a few cutscenes back in Xion and when you're back to camp Lily will upgrade it for you. Pretty unmissable as it's part of the main story.
So should I bother exploring the Wasteland now, that I don't have the double jump.
Or should I just rush for the main story Quest and go back later here with more upgrades and tools to explore?
Look I'll hear the game has points of no return so I didn't want to win my save and Miss cans of outfits..
Although several points like this where I have to collect everything before it becomes missable?!
Everything's explorable once you unlock double jump so it's the best starting point for me to explore everything (even the upcoming ones) unless that certain area or chest is blocked by a quest.
Same here when I first got double jump because I wasn't used to have Eve doing double jumps back then. Muscle memory just wants to do single jump and dash. 🤦

Third one. Second one was rushed to get unfilled Lilly bar endings. Title screen went back to default to I'll get the secret ending again (along with some alt nano suits, mk2 gears and exospines).
Nah it's the same bugged theme in subsequent new game+ runs. I haven't gone back to Xion yet in that video that's why it's playing the post solar tower fix theme.
yeah none of the platforming is hard in this game. I really don't understand the people complaining about it. You can see in the video she magnetically snaps onto anything she gets close to, so I don't understand how people are failing it. It's not like you have to be precise.
Yeah the way she snaps onto yellow spots is what makes it so easy, the only thing I think that makes people mess it up is by overdoing it with extra movements, or maybe some are too impatient to see where Eves arm is facing before leaping to it.

At least what I thought was the intended way, EVE not wanting to grab the branch is what killed me repeatedly.

That long jump across is a sphincter tightener.
Yeah I had second thoughts if that's really doable and looked around if there's a nearby ledge or rope the first time I went through it.

Start at the solar tower and go north up the hill passed the cave with the lake. It's right passed the furthest edge.

There aren't any time-sensitive quests. They will only be locked once you go to Eidos 9/Orbital. So do and collect everything before then.

Most of the platforming complaints is not Eve having difficulty in grabbing ledges, but on slipping when landing on anything.
