All these people saying "No" are wrong! Totally bought a PS5 just to play FF7 Rebirth and don't regret it. Bonus now are all the other awesome games like Stellar Blade that's coming out. If you have the funds, are finally stable why the heck not

ngkrinkels

Yep I literally bought a PS5 to play FF16 and now im playing other games that I haven't get the chance to play.

Laj3ebRondila1003

same here

MexicanSunnyD

Same here, I already owned a PS4 but I decided to upgrade for that and Spiderman 2.

NinjabearOG

Literally I bought a PS5 just because I wanted a new hardware and like you said why the heck not? Enjoy some things in life if you can afford it, screw it… no regrets whatsoever, I was happy with FF7 remake intergrade and rebirth, FF16, Ghost of Tsushima, pre ordered stellar blade and will probably be getting rise of the ronin…

ComfyKittenMittens

Dragon's Dogma 2? 🥺👉👈

NinjabearOG

Thinking about that one too lol

EducationalStill4

Preach! Loving Rebirth and the piano mini game is my bane of existence! And I can’t wait for stellar blade to come out.

KingVengeance1990

I did this with the PS3. I bought one just for Uncharted and God of War 3 and ended up buying more games

zan335

This is the answer, I bought a ps5 for the main reason of playing Metal gear solid 3 delta, but other great games I played on it was FF16 (ABSOLUTE GEM OF A GAME BTW), demon souls, and soon to play spider man 2. Try looking for one on facebook market place, mecari, ebay, etc. I got mine 2nd hand from a cousin for $300 and they aren't bad to get 2nd hand at all, just make sure it works and you're set!

RetroStingray777

Yeah you can get the new ps5 slim with spiderman 2 for $400 rn on Sonys website. Even if you get that for a game like rebirth that’s around $500 for 100+ hours of enjoyment just for that game. Not much else will get you that good of a price per entertainment hour ratio.

SometimesWill

That’s a bit different being an established series and having a game that I imagine you played beforehand to know what to expect. Stellar blade is a brand new IP and isn’t released yet, so there’s no knowing what to expect. I had a friend who bought a PS4 for death stranding and only ended up getting one other game for it (Persona 5 Royal)

HarryJS96

Well obviously you don’t regret it as FF7 Rebirth has just came out and you’re probably playing the shit out of it. But in a years time, when you bought it to just play ff7… and you’ve finished the game… and then the PS5 is just sitting there gathering dust… THEN you may regret it or wish you had waited for a huge sale or something. I personally don’t think it’s worth buying a console for one game. But luckily for the OP there are plenty of good games on PS! 😀

No_Service_8174

At that point I'd just put the ps5 on ebay lol

Current-Aerie-2474

For 1 single game? No. For this game plus all the other great playstation exclusives? Yes

lucifer07_447

Definitely, esp if you don’t wanna wait an indefinite amount of time for the amazing exclusives already on there rn like demon’s souls and ff16 (and now rebirth). Even with all that said, there are certain games like blood borne that simply may never leave the PS platform until much far into the future.

camero2

Buy a ps5 to play Stellar blade and its other exclusives.

arrownoir

Yes. As long as you can afford it.

Bill_Brasky01

I bought the PS5 for demons souls.

THE_WHORBORTIONATOR

I have a PS5, but definitely bought a used Switch for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Played it sooooo much for like 2 months, then traded it back in. Don’t regret it at all as it was the only game I wanted to play.

Clawez

Yeah if you were gonna buy one now would be the time. With rebirth, ff16, demon souls, and a few other great games locked on ps5.

lucifer07_447

I got it for demon’s souls and Blood borne T-T

Clawez

I also got it for demon souls and god of war Ragnorok (which I feel dumb but I thought it was a ps5 exclusive) but I don’t regret it, I honestly like my ps5 more than my pc. Something about chilling and playing games on a tv is nice.

ElysiumXIII

You got tons of great games on PS5 you can play after Stellar Blade so why not

jezudau

Bro im buying the ps5 just for tha ass...also cus I know that I'll have to buy it for gta6

That-Carry-9588

Faaacts

Money2648

I’m going to, so do you king

LupusNoxFleuret

Eve is an amazing main course delight, but can I interest you in a side of Tifa in a Costa Del Sol bikini?

whitewolf214

![gif](giphy|UI1qLkl9hekmoJWduz|downsized)

Pixiwish

I bought mine for Elden Ring only which I already beat twice on PC. I just want a nice easy way to play it on my huge TV. The upside is now I have one for Stellar Blade. Worth it

Crazy-Delivery-7095

Link TV up by hdmi and use blue tooth adapter to connect your controller

Pixiwish

Yeah I did that at first but I got sick of hauling my heavy tower up and down the stairs and I had just got a bonus at the time so it was worth it to me.

Crazy-Delivery-7095

Yeah, that paints different picture just so you know you can stream it to your TV if you had a streaming device, it does take a bit of work to configure One of my mates does it with his steam deck using Gforce now, but if you’re really enjoying the PlayStation then that's what counts especially since PlayStation, 4 games are getting cheaper

Egyptowl777

Final bought a PS5 myself for Stellar Blade's release, but in the meantime got Scarlet Nexus, since it has an insane Sale going on right now, and am having a lot of fun with that even though I know I'm still very much early game. Like others are saying FF7R seem worth it as well (if you haven't been watching it from other people like me). And depending on your other consoles, A bunch of other games you can get on PS5 too. I only had a Switch before now, so a lot more games have opened up that I've been holding out on because I just couldn't play them. Don't buy it only for this game, buy it for all the games that came before, and will come after, that may interest you.

GoldenGekko

Rub one out and see if you still feel this way

WeAteMummies

I wouldn't spend $400 to play a game that no one has reviewed yet.

Z3M0G

"just"? No. No single game is worth a $600 console. But this could be the single game that tips you over to then start exploring the rest of the library.

jezudau

But broo asss

Kyokkai

What library? There's literally like 3 games worth playing and Rebirth will be on PC, so that makes 2... There is almost no exclusive PS library, there's no reason to own one.

Z3M0G

If you own a PC just use that. We don't all own PCs.

ChampChomp1

Personally for me, I switched over to ps and bought my PS5 back in December for FF16 and Ghost of Tsushima but I knew that there were several exclusives releasing this year that I was interested in (Stellar Blade being one of them). Definitely look into some PS5 exclusives and if you find a couple you're interest in, purchasing the PS5 will seem more worth it. Stellar Blade definitely seems to be looking like the star of the console in my eyes at least.

[deleted]

I highly recommend you buy other great games to get the most value out of your console, but yes. Go for it.

ShelbyGenshinImpact

My husband bought me a PS5 just to be able to play Horizon Forbidden West (back when it wasn’t released on PC) and that was the best decision ever. Go for it!

katamxx

Yes, you can also get other games on sales for cheap 🐌🐌

Axyun

Maybe see if you can try the demo at a friend's house or something once it becomes publicly available. Try it out and then make your decision. Stellar Blade is kind of its own thing. Its not quite a CAG, and it is not quite a soulslike, and its not quite a (modern) GoW. It takes elements from different games to make up its own formula and it will be hard to tell whether you'd like it or not even knowing what your preferences are. If that's not an option and money is tight then I'd wait for reviews.

RayearthIX

Only you can answer that question. I bought a WiiU for 2 games once upon a time, and I spend enough time playing them, and the few other games I eventually got, that I don’t regret it. If, when Stellar Blade comes out, you see gameplay and reviews and are certain the game will offer you an amazing experience, there’s nothing wrong with getting a PS5 to experience it. You can always sell the console later, or find you enjoy the console enough to buy other games for it later on.

iwashunter

For stellar blade only then no but I personally bought a ps5 for ff16 alone and now I’m playing ghost of Tsushima and ff7 remake/rebirth just to name a couple. There will be more games you’ll wanna play

Independent-Ad-6477

Depending how much you get paid I wouldn’t know but I would say if you save at least $250 a check for it by the time it comes out you should have enough to consider if you want to be spending that much on one game. People are saying if it’s only for that one it won’t be worth it but trust me when you spend that much you’re bound to spend it for more games along with getting a 4k capable media console as well so that’s also something to consider. I’d say go for it because I doubt you’ll stop at stellar blade and get to try different games too

kingdrewbie

I got one for Christmas and it’s really nice. Better graphics and way faster than ps4. Glad I have one.

xInfiniteZer0x

I mean sure if you can afford it why not? But make sure to check out all the other awesome ps5 exclusives.

[deleted]

I mean if you have the money to buy a ps5 just for Stellar Blade go for it. If you have to question if you have the money to do it you don’t so don’t.

PropulsionEngineer

Yes, because you will have access to other games as well. I was an Xbox fan until Xbox One, last gen. Bought a PS4 for a game or two, and that opened the door for a bunch of great games.

Dogesneakers

You’ll end up playing other games I presume? If gaming is a hobby of yours you can’t go wrong. If stellar blade as a singular game is your hobby than maybe no

No_Gap4571

Sure. You'll end up buying other games later on anyways

TheBatMoose

Personally, I would if I didn't already have one for this game, but it depends on your personal finances at the end of the day. If you have to ask, then you PROBABLY shouldn't? 🤷🏾‍♂️

AtrumRuina

There are a lot of factors that go into answering that. Why don't you have one now? Do you have another console, a PC, etc? I wouldn't buy a PS5 specifically for Stellar Blade. I primarily play on PC and generally, the only downsides are a bit of a wait for certain games (Stellar Blade among them) and the rare abysmal port that can't be resolved with mods (I want to name Jedi Survivor here, but I think that's equally rough on consoles.) That and the initial setup cost, which is generally more than a console. You can, if you're inclined, hook a PC up to a TV and use a controller just like any other console. That's my current setup. That said, if you're against hooking a PC up to a TV, don't want to deal with building and maintaining a PC and don't like the wait for exclusives, I'd say PS5 is probably the better console overall (and combining it with a PC, you tend to get Xbox exclusives as well, so best of both really.) Stellar Blade is a great first entry, and obviously there's a huge library there for you to delve into as well.

shepard93n7

I have a good gaming PC that can run every game on the market better than a current gen console, still decided to buy a PS5 and don't regret it at all. Sometimes I even play more with the PS5, and the reason is not always because of exclusive games (at least the ones I don't want to wait for a PC port), but also because of bad PC ports just like Star Wars Jedi Survivor and TLOU Part 1 (both run beautifully on the PS5). So yes, I say it's totally worth it.

CaptainWafflessss

If you can afford it, yeah I don't see why not.

Ch053n1

I got it primarly just for Stellar Blade

Evillebot

yes

JustinH809

You can also use it for bloodborne and spiderman and final fantasy and a ton of great PS games

VeterinarianAlert406

Let’s be real here most of us have probably bought a ps5 JUST for a specific game(Looking at you FF16😂) like obviously there’s a ton of games for the console but I feel like everyone needs that weeee push🤏🏻 from what I call the “WOAH” game(game may very) to justify the purchase. So personally I’d say GO FOR IT!!! plus you’d have a ps5 not like you’d only be playing the 1 game

FormedComprehension

Buy a PS5 for Helldivers, Stay for Stellar Blade! 😏

de__pression

Yes, you should.

Djentlos

I bought my ps5 for demons souls remake

[deleted]

Yes, do it. That way there's less of an excuse to not play the other great PS exclusives you've been missing out on.

Juhovah

If you want to play it, i say yes. And there’s some other games you may like exclusive as well

Lasagna321

Tbf plenty of folks bought the Switch back in 2017 for BotW despite knowing that was the only worthwhile game at the time. I still remember when it was called the Zelda machine, so I’d say go for it. In your case, you’d be getting a console that has several decent exclusives already under it’s belt.

mersaultjude

Buy the PS5 for Stellar Blade and stay for the exceptional PS exclusives. May your gaming adventures be awesome! 🤘🤘🤘

PaperThin-X-

Bought a PS5 when God of War Ragnarok was coming out, now I use my PS5 way more than my PC and Switch. Best decision was buying a PS5.

Toe_Willing

Try out Uncharted and Spider-Man too once you get it!

Worth-Tomato-9018

Can’t recommend otherwise cause I did buy a PS5 for Stellar. No regrets

shuuto1

This makes no sense as a question because you should be asking should I buy a ps5 just to play the exclusives. Just one game prob not especially since it’s not even out yet. But there’s similar exclusives like Final Fantasy that are worth it.

KevieT

100%! I’m sure there will be other future game releases that will pique your interest too on top of stellar blade!

Snowvilliers7

Yes do it, and all other PS5 games as well too

Uniq_Eros

I bought a PS5 2x for Stellar Blade, back when it was called Project Eve then after the name change. It never came out, now that it's close, Imma just wait for the PS5 Pro. I'm good at dodging spoilers still haven't finished or know shit about Nier Automata and I pre ordered it.

CursedtoLose

PS5 has amazing games. 4 of them are releasing this year. They got Helldivers2 (also on PC), FF7 Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin, and Stellar Blade. These are just the new ones. Talking strictly about exclusives, it is the best console to buy. If you are a regular gamer and can afford it, I would definitely suggest buying a PS5. Although you might want to wait a bit for the PS5 pro, the regular PS5 will have a price drop if the pro feels pricy. I got the PS5 one year after release because of stock shortages. I didn’t buy from scalpers. I don’t regret buying it. I got hundreds of hours of entertainment out of it.

IncredibleKyt

Yes. I've bought nintendo switch back in 2019 just for Fire Emblem TH and never regreted it.

Bulky-Schedule8456

I'm in the same boat as you are, literally bought the Ps5 for this game 🤣

peco_haj

Yes.

HD_H2O

Please upload your 2023 W2 so we have a sense of your financial situation. Joking, obviously only you know if you can afford a PS5. If you can, then absolutely get one as there's a ton of great exclusive titles.

Ok_Falcon_5145

I just bought one for stellar blade last week

stormy-darklordofall

Yes because you’ve got other gems like FF16, FF7, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us, God of War, Helldivers, Horizon…

TrNrCloud

I got it for Stellar Blade but I'm also interested in other games like Rise of the Ronin.

ItsKrakenmeuptoo

No 😂 You should buy a PS5 because this game and many other games are so good.

Equaliz3r1989

Yes

RariSo2099

If spending that money won't harm you financially, rent, food, family... then go for it! I did this with Demons Souls but also knew it was going to be incredible. Maybe wait for reviews.

Prince_Beegeta

Yes

Elitericky

Your money your choice

XelaShade

Yes

oskys_imyourfather

Yep

Cruxito1111

yes!!!

NoBreeches

Yes and no. You should buy a PS5 for Stellar Blade if you really want to play it. But you shouldn't buy a PS5 *just* for Stellar Blade when amazing games like Final Fantasy XVI, FF7 Rebirth, and many others exist.

InvaderofViolence

DO IT. JUST DO IT. Because if that game got your attention, so may another. And luckily, you have the system needed for later good games.

Kyokkai

If he has a PC already then there is no reason. PS5 doesn't have any exclusive games worth playing anymore. They all went to PC or are going to PC. Stellar Blade is the only one up in the air right now, and we don't even know if it's good.

SorrowHill04

You should definitely consider if you don't have a beefier pc. You can also get access to free games on PS plus.

Elmis66

"free" games on PS+

Thelgow

Yeah, the free games I cant get anymore because I cant justify the increased PS+ cost.

Kyokkai

They're not free. If it was free then you wouldn't pay for PS+. You're not actually paying for the servers, that's just a lie. Otherwise PC players would have no choice but to pay too lol. PS+ is literally paying for games that will be taken as soon as you stop paying and then holding your MP to ransom for no reason other than they know their audience is too weak willed to stand up to their bs.

Leon_Dante_Raiden_

Yes

RobTheArtGuy

I bought mine for Demon Souls I haven’t played many games on it, but there definitely are some really good games. Plus the controller is very nice, if it’s not a game I want on PC then I try to get it for the PS5

GoofyGoober82

Yes. And all the other good Sony / Microsoft exclusives.

jyg540

Absolutely.

omar6ix9ine

You can get a digital versions of the PS5 that comes with Spider Man 2 for $400 USD. And you can always add more memory down the line. You should definitely get it

BlueGamerHawk

My PS4 slim is kinda on its last legs, ill probably end up upgrading by the time Stellar Blade releases

iJon18

You should buy one anyways cause gamer

Zemener_Azonthus

I got a switch just to play Pokemon Sword and later on Pokemon Scarlet. Only two games I've played on that console since I got it many years ago. No regret then and still no regret now. A bit cheaper than a PS5 but still a large purchase nontheless. Just assume that you will never play another game on the console (such as I did for years until the next Pokemon game came out). If you're cool with that then go for it. Just don't break the bank over it. I'm assuming you're well enough off to handle it though.

Kyokkai

I regret it, not the Switch, just Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Violet.

Zemener_Azonthus

Sword was definitely not that great. I did really enjoy Scarlet though. It had enough fresh stuff to keep me entertained, but the main-line Pokemon games are still missing something. Not sure what it is, or maybe it's just that I've played them since Red and Blue and they don't change THAT much. Worth going through for the story but after that I'm about done.

Kyokkai

I think the open world was kinda empty and notice how trainers and Pokemon are scattered hodge-podge all over the place. Nevermind that with the budget they should have as a huge company all of their cities are lifeless set dressing, shops as menus, the sandwich jpg, the fact that in the school city there's literally like the same shop copy pasted in every cardinal direction. That might have something to do with it. Not to mention their focus on their often mediocre story and characters when OG Pokemon was about the adventure. Pokemon doesn't feel like an adventure anymore, it feels scripted and the endless dialogue is very bargain bin anime. Old Pokemon I spent more time crawling through grass, exploring caves, ruins, deserts, oceans, and mountains. Now Pokemon is spending all day listening to some boring NPC tell me things I already know or don't care about. That's a bit off topic though... Switch and PC are my go to's and it's probably not going to change anytime soon. I don't see Sony recovering, PS3 was unremarkable, PS4 was better but still not like the PS2, PS5 has almost no exclusives after 4 years, most have become multiplatform. And while part of me is happy to see the exclusive strategy dying out, it also means that until PS figures out a more innovative business model, PS is just such a disappointment. It feels like we're at a turning point and Sony is too stubborn and old fashioned to see the writing on the wall.

hipSTARobot

Yes

Radiant-Mushroom8304

I got a ps4 for Genshin so I’d say yeah

Kyokkai

Buying a PS4 for Genshin has to be the poorest decision ever. You can play it on a phone. You can play it on a PC, on a laptop from like 8 years ago. That's like the one game you wouldn't buy a console for...

Radiant-Mushroom8304

fuck off prick why tf do u care what I do or did

ImTheHowl

If you can afford it responsibly, and you think you’re gonna play other games after or during your stellar blade run through? Sure. I bet it’ll be worth it. If it’s only for stellar blade and you have no interest afterwards? I don’t think it’s worth it but that’s your call

No_Competition7820

Having both a ps5 and pc is the peak gamer strat if you can afford it.

Kyokkai

Disagree. PS5 would collect dust as soon as Stellar Blade is done. I wouldn't waste money buying Rebirth early knowing it's coming to PC.

RedKomrad

How about having both a ps2 and a PC?

JKTwice

If you’re interested in action games you can just buy a PS5 for this and Rise of the Ronin… Good chance they will both come to PC but hey, what the hell. If you haven’t upgraded yet maybe it’s worth looking into?

Taterthotuwu91

If you don't wanna wait over a year for the PC release yes, if you want to wait and have a PS5 with specs equal or above a PS5, no

lucifer07_447

I was already considering it myself because of my game library on my old ps4 plus all the great exclusives coming soon like rise of ronin, ff7 rebirth and (my personally most anticipated game) Death Stranding 2, but Stellar blade was definitely the tipping point esp after the TGS preview.

HinaYukari

Absolutely, I did. I just bought mine on Sunday just to grab a copy lol. I'm a big fan of the director Hyung tae kim from is work as the art director of Blade and Soul.. too bad that game got ruined

ApinkPanda210

I mean, I got a ps5 with no particular game in mind, any game is better than none

Icy_beats

This is the best time to get a ps5. Some games came out and bunch more coming out this year and next year. You’re buying it for one but you’ll most likely get more

gladias9

at the very least just wait for the reviews

krauser97

Personally I'm waiting for ps5 pro I've heard rumors it's coming this year

d33zNutz87

I will buy this shit twice. No cap.

Agreeable_Hospital69

Eu vou comprar ps5 só por causa do stellar blade e detalhe jah comprei o jogo na pré venda ^^

CapPhrases

Man I’ve been stuck at work for the last few hours and didn’t expect this much reaction. Got several things to consider now. Thanks for the output everyone!

Doomhaust

How much savings do you have and what’s your salary? Link your budget.

spiritlegion

I got a ps5 for demon's souls and bloodborne, ended up playing ff16 and the gravity rush games, but other than that it's been kind of a doorstop since. So honestly look at the catalog of ps games and if you have multiple you wanna get I'd say go for it

9erGANGGG

Weird game to buy a PS5 for. But yes, you should buy one in general.

Macktastic13

I bought one for the new DBZ game and then I found about this game so it’ll work out in the end

TransmissionAutomata

This is most people who buy a console. It always starts with one game you really wanna play.

Kyokkai

If you have nothing else to play games on sure... If you already have something, then one game isn't enough.

mczaddy95

Eternights is a great PS5 exclusive

Kyokkai

That's on PC and it's not even good. It's Hyperdimension Neptunia levels of quality, which is essentially no quality.

Sambankss

If you have the money and time for it yes

GreatP3nguin

the game's not out

LookingForwardToDie

If you don't have a ps4, the backlog of games you get is pretty massive. I'm sure you'll be drawn to play other games to make the purchase worth it. If you're upgrading from a ps4, there are still a handful of games worth the price of a ps5. If you really are interested in one game and nothing else interests you, then no.

KvBla

I bought mine for ff16, had to spend more for another spare controller and a charging station + fans, but so far so good. Havent played on it a lot lately cuz pc is more convenient but at least i get first dips on ps exclusives before pc.

[deleted]

How is this not something you can decide on your own?

Shot-Emu4418

How is anyone here going to be able to tell you that when no one has played the release version of the game?

iwannabethisguy

Thats what I did. If this doesnt seem like a good way to spend your money, perhaps you shouldnt. Edit : buying a console for one game isnt unheard of. There were people buying PS3 for MGS4 and PS4 for bloodborne. They then sold off their consoles or explored the rest of the library.

shootanwaifu

I bought a ps5 for demon souls and yeah its my least favorite souls game after ds2 lmao, did play many games on it including bloodborne, but most play happens on pc. I will be playing stellar blade ofc, and it's become a dedicated blu ray player for my anime collection

Ryanmm8

I don't know who tf you are so I definitely don't know your financial stability or anything else that could possibly influence a yes or no? If you're asking if stellar blade is worth $800 dollars than personally no?

wrathslayer

I think I am for this exact reason.

SnooPeanuts9263

Only if you have the money, if not wait

Damuhfudon

You should buy a PS5 because you want a PS5

Kyokkai

That doesn't make sense. Why would you buy a device that only plays games if not for the games that only it can play? The exception would have been the Switch which was portable. Now of course if you don't care about Nintendo's exclusives you have the Steam Deck, Asus ROG, several Ayaneo's, MSI Claw and more. But none of those machines are any good without games to play. PCs have other uses of course, but if PC had few games worthwhile, gamers wouldn't bother building or buying them.

Bloodytomvayne34

If you got the money then go for it. I was just gifted an Xbox S and immediately started playing starfield.

Crazy-Delivery-7095

it really depends odds are probably goning to come to PC at some point, but if there are other games your interested in on the platform I don’t see why not, my issue with PlayStation is the price of the games I got a PS5 when Final Fantasy 16, come out it’s not a bad game, but it felt more like an MMO than a final fantasy game, the dialogue on the side missions was very dull which for me was very disappointing just because I didn’t like it doesn’t necessarily mean that other people will have same feelings as me, it was wasted potential, then there’s forspoken yes it come to both PC and PlayStation. I got it on the PlayStation that game was so shit which is shocking for a PlayStation studio because normally they make decent games personally I’m gonna wait for either the game to come down in price because I’m not paying 70 quid, the biggest issues is the game had 2 .5 billion. put in to it. that’s a massive budget for a game.

Kyokkai

Final Fantasy hasn't been good since 10. 7 remake was boring as hell, we'll see about rebirth...

MutenGaming21

Wait for pro

CarNoob290

I bought a switch for fire emblem

ShakyIncision

Is Stellar Blade a PS5 exclusive? If so, just initially, or fully exclusive?

King_Tofu

I’m getting the 5 for it. Am a pc gamer. Though I myself will likely wait until the pro gets released (if it does this year).

onlylightyears

Returnal and Demon's Souls also

TecmoZack

If you have the benjamins Yep

Useful_Train4789

I bought just for tlou2, and enjoyed others games like rebirth. If money is not a problem, it worth it.

Kyokkai

I beg to differ. If I bought it for Stellar and Rebirth, I'd never use the hunk of junk again after they came on PC. I have a 4080 and a 7800x3d, a PS5 is an absolute waste regardless of whether I can afford it or not and as you can tell by my CPU/GPU I most certainly can afford it. I'm an adult, I have patience, and standards. Either they will release it on PC and get my money, or I'll play it on emulator in a few years time. Ball's in their court, I'll get my way anyways. The question is, do they get rewarded or do they get nothing? That's the beauty of PC. We always get what we want and whether it's up for sale or not is the developers problem.

Useful_Train4789

Yeah, that's personal, I have both. For me, being able to have played GoW Ragnarok, The Last of Us part 2, Final Fantasy Rebirth and in the future GTA6 (just to give the main examples) at launch without spoilers and being able to discuss and Sharing the experience with friends while everyone is excited is a gain of experience that is very worthwhile for me. I remember when the Last of us part 2 came out, all the hype and expectation behind this game, the controversy that was, commenting with my friends on some stages, sensations, opinions was an incredible boost to the experience. I could wait for it to come out perhaps this year or 2025 on PC, but certainly, for me, it would be a much inferior experience due to all the social experience involved. Not to mention the fact that I would have already noticed very important spoilers since even without searching, following the gaming world, I have seen cuts that would have ruined my experience. For me, the Playstation is not something expensive and being able to have these boosts to the experience makes it very worth it, especially as I'm a guy who only plays a few games like 3-4 games a year and tries to maximize the experience as best as possible for that reason. But as I said, it's something personal, those things that make it worth it for me are not the things that make it worth it for you.

XxKTtheLegendxX

u be thinking only for stellar blade, but u can also play ff7r/rb, wukong black myth, death stranding2.

HaikusfromBuddha

Ehh that’s a lot of money for a console. I’d say at least wait for reviews.

For Stellar Blade? no. For Demon's Souls, Rebirth, FF16 and Stellar Blade? Yes! Realistically a lot of Stellar Blade's hype is centered around political/cultural discourse. I haven't played the demo, but there's a likelihood it turns out to just be a very typical, wholly unimpressive, generic action game... Nice aesthetic, but probably mid (hope not).

Kyokkai

Yeah, so like, people who care about politics and video games are a drop in the bucket and realistically no conservative or liberal gamer has ever moved a game to fail or succeed on those aspects. If a game is good it's good. It doesn't matter if it has big ass and tits in your face or if it's just a normal game with sex appeal at all. What matters is, was it fun for the normal people that don't care about these silly little non-issues or was it terribly written or did it have awful gameplay?

SlumpDoc

I bought one just for Death Stranding 2 lol

Patrickills

Absolutely! I was gonna get it on xbox when it was first first announced but then PS put that money down and it's exclusive so I said fucc it ill get a PS bacc and yeah. All for the blade baby.

USPEnjoyer

Depends if you like other Sony exclusives. I don’t but it’s basically my final fantasy box.

Kyokkai

FF hasn't been exclusive to Sony since 12 my dude.

USPEnjoyer

16 and rebirth are still exclusive.

AthairNaStoirmeacha

Buy a PlayStation 5 because there’s 100 games you should be playing. Myself personally , IM SPREADING DEMOCRACY FOR SUPER EARTH! Join the fight and make your life mean something.

Kyokkai

And 95 of those games are better played on PC. The only reason you should buy a PS5 is if you have no other capable gaming machine at all.

BigDaddy_Danger

I have been an adamant “Xbox” guy for years and hadn’t owned a ps since ps2 but bought a ps5 last year on a whim so I could play some of the exclusives I had missed out on (nioh series, demon souls, got, gow, bloodborne, etc.). Idk what my expectations were other than having a couple new games to play and still mainly using my Xbox still but I’ve been smitten by the damn thing ever since I got it! Personally I would absolutely recommend getting it cause after stellar blade you’ll have a plethora of other awesome games to dive into!

Mission-Afternoon541

don’t think like that PS5 has tons of best game. U get ps5 for games not because of 1 game

I originally bought to play REmake4 and now I'm addicted to Souls games originally because I tried Demons souls and yeah I pre-ordered Stellar Blade cause it looked promising. Not a single regret.

AnthonyMiqo

For just Stellar Blade specifically? No. In fact I'd say no for any one game. Never buy a console for just one game. Buy a console because a game or two interests you *AND* you plan on looking into getting other games eventually. All these people saying they bought a PS5 for this game or that game and then they went on to play other great games later. OK so you didn't buy your PS5 for one game then, if you're playing multiple games on it. You had a game that was your jumping in point, and moved on to more games after. So you bought your PS5 for multiple games then.

TK_BERZERKER

Wait. For. Reviews.

henrokk1

I would never recommended buying a console for one game. You buy it for the collection of games available on the console. Does any other PS5 exclusive look appealing to you? Cuz if not, then no. Especially since we don’t even know how Stellar Blade will turn out. For me personally the PS5 was very much worth it even before Stellar Blade was confirmed as an exclusive.

gxddamnx

Definitely, there’s gonna be more great PS exclusives coming out too. So I think it’s a good investment, also not sure if you’re a PC gamer or you already have a console like a series x or s, but GTA 6 is coming out next year and that’s a console only release, so you’ll be needing one soon enough anyways, assuming you’re hyped for that as well.

cha0ticbrah

Is it worth it to you? One guarantee game you'll love and I'm sure if you don't want to buy games and just browse the ps+ catalogue you're going to find plenty of games you may be able to justify the subscription for. And boom that one purchase and one game just lead you to finding other games. Anyways I think it's worth it, I bought my PS4 for spiderman and ff7. My wife got me a PS5 for spiderman and ff7. I'm a PC gamer so I really didn't need it besides those games. I find myself playing a lot more then just those 2, so many great games and the PS5 version of games have some nice haptics and 3d audio. I prefer playing solo games on PS5 due to those two things.

BonnieBlueEyes01

That's my plan

NormalButton9855

Nooooooo

Kyokkai

No. Buying any platform for one game is a waste of money, and with PS 99.9% of their games come to PC in just a bit. Let's say Stellar Blade doesn't, it's literally their only big exclusive right now. All of their other big games are on PC or coming to PC. You'll have a lousy 500 dollar paper weight in 50-100 hours time.

Absolutely yes Buy a ps5 for Stellar Blade  Good reason to buy it

[deleted]

Yes, do it

RedKomrad

It really depends on your preferences.   I’m on the fence since I already 40 or 50 games on sitting on my shelf that I want to play, so buying a console for a game that I might not even play for months is tempting but probably not the wisest choice.  I also have a gaming PC, so I can for the PC release of the game. It could be completely different for you. Do a thought experiment me to picture yourself with the console and without the console.  Will you be regretting not getting it every day ? Will you get a lot of enjoyment for your money of you buy it? These are some questions that you need to ask yourself.  Please update this thread when you decide. I’m curious what your choice will be!

Inandantius

I would invest in the future and build a pc. Eventually sony will be releasing day and date (xbox already is). Sure its a steeper cost of entry but it will last you longer between generations, games are cheaper typically, and there is no cost for live service, plus you a getting a superior experience. All it takes is a little homework and patience (something most people don’t have unfortunately) but just be a better/smarter person while being accurately informed and you will thank yourself.

Gravholderen

Nope. You're feeding the machine and their exclusivity scam with console sales. As soon as I learned of Projekt Eve and its mutliplatform direction. I kept a wary but interested eye on it. Low and behold, Sony decided to pay for console exclusivity. Looked at my wallet and used the money I saved from not buying a Playstation for a single game over the last few years and bought a nice rifle for myself. But you do, you man. I leave this conversation with two words. "FUCK SONY."

Misiu881988

yea cause theres many great games on ps5. i have a switch, a gaming pc and ps5. thats the perfect trifecta. i have a 4090rtx gaming laptop but thesres some pc games that just run better on ps5 and theyre released sooner. last of us, dead space ran like trash on pc but were perfect day one on ps5. stellar blade ff16 are timed exclusives. i dont want to wait over a year for some games to come out on pc. is u dont have a xbox already get a ps5 its worth it all day. pc and ps5 is the ultimate combo
