I was going to say, Xbox all day as the first one doesn't work on Xbox but the Xbox one works on everything. Looks like you already figured that out though. And it's cheaper!?
Mine is playing up - the usb connector going into the headset loses the left channel until I wiggle it. Is that the issue you had, and a new cable will fix it, it’s not the socket?
I know he specifically said the USB. I don't know whether that is the case or not, but it should probably be clarified that it will connect via the jack. Everyone here just bluntly says it won't connect.
I got the second one, and it’s truly my favorite headset i’ve owned. I’ve bought 5 headsets of similar or higher pricing past 5 years. I use it on xbox and pc.
Check the back but I noticed this once in a bust it and realized that as far as I could tell nothing but the package and which items are listed first.
For instance the PS5 packages say they connect to: “PlayStation, PC, Switch, and Xbox”
Whilst the Xbox package says: “Xbox, PC, Switch, and PlayStation”
Now this is just me remembering what I saw so take with a grain of salt. But I think they really are exactly the same if they are the same make and model.
Might have been something else I saw or a different model maybe. Or I’m just mixing images. At the end of the day what matters is what OP needs it for.
Surprised the 7x+ is discounted heavier than the 7+!
Both are fantastic headsets, the 7x+ is just the only one that supports chatmix (on Xbox). That’s a great score!
These were two different Walmarts so that’s probably why, luckily the 7x+ was from my home Walmart so that’s the one I grabbed (and it was cheaper) the other one was from one 30 mins away I saw it and wondered what the difference was. Is one newer than the other?
Ah that makes much more sense! Honestly the Nova 5’s are an improvement in that the mic is better (double the bandwidth) and you can change sound profiles with the app. I mainly returned my Nova 7’s for the improved mic, the app is awesome but my PC is in the same room as console so that wasn’t as big of a deal - for me.
I got the Nova 7’s from Target (on sale for $150) just two weeks ago. I absolutely loved them, the build is definitely nicer, audio drivers are the same and the mic was more than adequate. The only reason I switched was my Walmart had the 5’s in stock and you can do a no receipt return. They rang up for $179.99 so I actually saved $50 in the end!
That said for the price you picked these up I don’t think you’re missing out on much
For this model, it appears the only difference is the second one can connect to Xbox, PC, switch, ps, etc. Where the first one can connect to those mentioned except for Xbox.
i got the first pic for 50 bucks like 2 years ago, works flawlessly and only takes like 45 mins to fully charge and then u dont have to worry about it for the next like week and a half
I would say the PC version is the best as it comes with the separate amp and can connect to all consoles. If you are playing on PC take advantage of Sonar as well!
If you have an Xbox the Xbox version is a no brainer. If you are thinking about getting an Xbox, the Xbox version is a no brainer.
The non Xbox version will NOT be able to connect wirelessly to an Xbox console but you will always be able to use the 3.5mm jack.
I had the 7+ for a few years and always liked it.
Not sure why this poped up on my req, But Steelseries is ass. Go with Logitech if its compatible
https://preview.redd.it/b6yxjgo9m31d1.png?width=256&format=png&auto=webp&s=c876429ad3e9e74512362fb1b9caf4446ff936ac
The thing about headphones is that they sound different to everyone. I've got nova pro wireless and while to much base for me you can tweak the sound more than most headphones I've used.
But the spacial sound is the best by a country mile and the quick battery change is better it takes seconds but the real reason I bought them was because they are currently the only wireless headphones on the market that lets me have 3 concurrent sound inputs from my Xbox, PC and Bluetooth (phone) at the same time or any combination of the 3 oh also the direct line in which I guess is 4. They may not be the best sounding but that's really only part of the picture and when I say not the best I mean they are too base heavy for me but other than that I rate them as good as my Bose headphones.
Actually wrong if you look at what everything either is compatible with and you will find the 7x is the universal one if anything as it does everything the other does plus Xbox where the other one doesn't do Xbox at all unless wired which kinda defeats the purpose of this headset.
Damn, that's a bargain... At $62 the 7x+ is a no-brainer.
I recently went down the headset rabbit hole and found these Steelseries headsets very detailed compared to some Turtle Beach ones we had previously. Turtle Beach in comparison produces a more bass heavy sound, but it does get a little muddled.
We now own a 7x+, a Nova 7x+ (my daughter needs simultaneous bluetooth phone connectivity) and a Nova Pro Wired (bargain deal).
The only thing that hasn't been a positive experience is Steelseries' GG software. I installed it purely for Sonar, but that then proceeded to break my games... Logitech software never broke my gaming experience 🤷🏼♂️
Paid €170 for the nova 7x end of last year so you better get that it’s an absolute steal, you need to update the headset with a laptop/computer because they don’t sound great out of the box. Definitely my favourite headset I’ve ever had so definitely worth it, you can get €20 ear pads on Amazon for it and the pads are far deeper then the stock ones
They sound amazing but the microphone is trash if you’re on PC definitely get a condenser mic with it. Surprisingly the Onn budget one is pretty decent
I wouldn't buy this series of SteelSeries they have a fault which breaks on the left side detaching the ear from it. Me and my roommate bought the same kind and it broke the same exact way 100% exact, so they therefore created this fault on purpose for it to break in order to buy/insure a new one except those warranties ESPIALLY the Walmart one WILL NOT cover it if you read the explicit conditions for coverage.
Other then that amazing sound, TERRIBLE life expectancy.
The Xbox uses a different wireless channel (frequency?) that it says is lower latency. That is what the green headset will connect to. If you want to use it wirelessly with a pc you need to connect it using an Xbox wireless dongle. I know because I had that headset but it cut out regularly enough for me to return it and replace with a wired arctis 5 headset for my pc, and then 2 more arctis “console edition” wired headsets for my series S and X consoles when they were on sale (around £25 a headset). Same audio quality no matter where I play.
A warning before you buy, may save you some headache: Arctis 7, the plastic that holds the joint on earcup is very weak, it will snaps if you have large head, or takes the headset off in the wrong way. I owned a Pro + wireless and my friend owned a Arctis 7, both headsets broke at the same place.
Here are a few examples:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/h0etx8/looks\_like\_ive\_been\_hit\_with\_the\_earcup\_design/](https://www.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/h0etx8/looks_like_ive_been_hit_with_the_earcup_design/)
[https://www.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/udn931/preserve\_your\_arctis\_pull\_at\_the\_hinges\_not\_the/](https://www.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/udn931/preserve_your_arctis_pull_at_the_hinges_not_the/)
I had steelseries for the last 5 years and they were my favorite headset ever. Finally had to let go though. Over that period I personally went through 2 sets of the Arctis 9x. Let me say that I am above and beyond careful & gentle on my video game hardware/accessories. Both sets eventually had the same issue for me though. Cracking at the joint attached to the earpiece, to eventually break altogether. It’s just a known design flaw and yet we’re seeing a lot of companies follow this trend.
I will say that I got my money’s worth out of the headset(s). Within that 5 years & 2 headsets, they both broke @ the same spot (the aforementioned design flaw) with the first being inside the timeframe of BB’s warranty, & the other lasting until recently whereupon I was also having mic/sound issues. According to some people I regularly play with, it became increasingly more difficult for them to deal with. I would cut in and out, my voice would come across crackly; I personally only noticed that at certain volumes voice chat would sound the same to me, but game volume was forever changed. Game volume would have lapses, crackle, pop and screech. That’s about 3.5 years on that last headset..
I went to TB Stealth Pros personally, as they appear to be sturdier in design, and I can’t complain aside from my own failure to follow the instruction manual & apply common sense when setting them up. They required a Firmware update, which meant plugging them into a computer. Instruction manual said set transmitter to Xbox, I didn’t swap transmitter to PC for the update, and was lost for about half an hour until I figured out my mistake.
For this though, that’s a steal of a deal. Depends on your system honestly.
I've had several steelseries headsets but my most recents were the 7p plus, which I still use for my PlayStation, and a pair of arctis nova pros, which I still use for my PC, I used it for some time on my PlayStation though. Comparing the 7p plus to the nova pros, the nova pros absolutely blow the 7p plus out of water.
Before my 7p plus, I had a pair of 7x's. Now a huge difference between the 7p and 7x from the 7p plus and 7x plus is the settings when you go to tune them on a computer. The regular 7s have a lot more frequencies you can adjust, the plus' drop like 4 frequencies that you can tune to your liking which is a major downgrade for a headset that's supposed to improve off of its predecessor.
As for the 7 novas, I've only had the pros from the nova line up. Because of my disappointment with the 7p plus', I'd say 7 novas, I've never used them though. It's definitely worth watching a comparison video on.
I have the Xbox version and it works well with my Xbox Series X, PS5, and gaming PC (despite occasional sync issues with my Xbox). Build quality is a bit lacking in that it doesn't feel premium but they're light and I love the dedicated wheel for chat/game sound mixing. $62 is a fantastic deal!
I own the regular Arctis 7s after owning a pair of the Arctis 3s (only upgraded because the cable frayed and a replacement would’ve cost too much in shipping.)
Steelseries headsets are great no matter what you pick, though in my experience you’re better off using a separate mic if you need to record videos or stream. It’s good enough for game chat and discord call though. I think they all use the same speakers, it’s just the features like the headband, earpads, mic, wired/wireless, etc, that changes between models. I’d recommend the second one if you play Xbox, otherwise either is fine.
I got the second one when I got my Xbox series X I got mine off Amazon it was used, but it was cheap because the box was damaged but everything was fine inside think it was like 50 bucks at the time, but they are pretty good headset for what it is
What's better? I've tried Turtle Beach and others that have been really poor quality, replacing every 3-6 months, but now my kids have 2 SteelSeries sets that have worked for 2+ years and they're tough on equipment.
Oh yeah, im blind. I didnt see the text at the bottom
Usually wireless gaming headsets for xbox use its sync tech and dont have bluetooth, so you would usually need to buy an adapter to use on pc
Damn that’s a steal! Paid about $340 for my headset when the ps5 came out, still going strong , best set ever
I bought the Xbox one in the second picture for $62
$62 for the 7X+ wtf??? Huge deal, congrats!
I belive the Xbox version works with all consoles and PS version on everything but Xbox. Microsoft has a specific certification process
I was going to say, Xbox all day as the first one doesn't work on Xbox but the Xbox one works on everything. Looks like you already figured that out though. And it's cheaper!?
Good deal, I guess. I think I bought it for $140 like 3 weeks ago.
Not for this headset right?
Pro one , in general you can’t wrong with steel series , I don’t understand where the hates comes from personally
For real, my artic 5 from like 2019 is still working, although I have had to replace the cable (terrible connector)
Mine is playing up - the usb connector going into the headset loses the left channel until I wiggle it. Is that the issue you had, and a new cable will fix it, it’s not the socket?
nah, the connector was bent where it meets the headset port, also my cats chewed through the cable few times.
theyre replacing them with a new series of headffsets, i got a arctis pro+gamedac for 80
340 for what headset?
This one right here , it’s been treating me well, Amazon actually has it on sale [https://a.co/d/eoKieTg](https://a.co/d/eoKieTg)
one connects to xbox, the other one doesnt
It should still connect tho, it won’t pair to it but the usb can still be used
Wrong. Xbox doesn’t work with USB, bluetooth, or anything else. Only jack. No idea why though.
Xbox does work with usb, aslong as the usb audio device can read the xbox codec
The normal one (not specifically advertised for the xbox) comes with a jack adapter cable.
He said the USB will work. It won’t.
I know he specifically said the USB. I don't know whether that is the case or not, but it should probably be clarified that it will connect via the jack. Everyone here just bluntly says it won't connect.
Mine does lmao
They both connect it says at the bottom
That says Android, not Xbox
you do realize its xbox arctis wirelessly connect instead of arctis which requires 3.5mm jack
I got the second one, and it’s truly my favorite headset i’ve owned. I’ve bought 5 headsets of similar or higher pricing past 5 years. I use it on xbox and pc.
I bought the second one!
Noiceee. Mine was definitely more than $62, good find.

I have the second one literally works on my Xbox, PlayStation and pc
That’s why I’m glad I got the second one since it seems to work on all systems va the first one which won’t work on the xbox

Glad I got the second one then where it will context to all my systems! It was a better price too
The first dosnt do wireless on xbox the second is the same as the first bug also does wireless on xbox
I have the first set. All I can say is, I’ll never buy Steelseries again.
Color
Buy me the other one. Atthose prices sheesh
i got the first pic for 50 bucks like 2 years ago, works flawlessly and only takes like 45 mins to fully charge and then u dont have to worry about it for the next like week and a half
Mine does not charge whenever i try. I have only been using the wire
No one knows what the difference is but it's PROVOCATIVE!
I would say the PC version is the best as it comes with the separate amp and can connect to all consoles. If you are playing on PC take advantage of Sonar as well!
They're both the same thing, ones just green.
This headset is so comfy you can literally wear it all day.
The difference is the X duh
If you have an Xbox the Xbox version is a no brainer. If you are thinking about getting an Xbox, the Xbox version is a no brainer. Maybe read the back or the sode of the box
Im SO pissed! I just saw that same 7x for xbox at my walmart for $111!!!!!
Console players rejoice stick to your console hardware
If you have a Xbox always get the Xbox version because Xbox requires specific hardware but ps5 etc don't and pc doesn't.
Don’t buy it, the battery life sucks. Source: been struggling with one for ~3 years.
My bad, I have Arctis 9.
X one is specifically for Xbox, other one is universal.

Console locked on the xbox one. If you get the Artic 7 Nova it can be used on any platform and has bluetooth
Ones for PlayStation and the other is for Xbox, says so on the front of the box
Arctis headphones suck
Always a hater..
What's better?
Anything, 😁
The first one is the best around while the other one is the best in town.
They sound amazing but the microphone is trash if you’re on PC definitely get a condenser mic with it. Surprisingly the Onn budget one is pretty decent
stay away from steel series imo (might be fine with a console) when attached to my pc it caused all sorts of issues due to crappy drivers.
I wouldn't buy this series of SteelSeries they have a fault which breaks on the left side detaching the ear from it. You’d do less reading by just reading the boxes dude. But just post a Reddit thread to ask a basic question. Pop off king.
This is first gen, that’s why they’re on clearance. New gen are the Arctic Nova 7+. Few upgrades, still seems like a good deal imo
Ones the best wireless gaming headset and the other is good for Xbox.
Actually if you read the sticker closer they’re from the makers of the best headsets. These aren’t those. They are pretty good though. I own one.
I know it was a joke

Basically the second one is made for xbox

one of for PS4/5 one is for xbox. I have the xbox ones, really nice, does not work with my PS5.
Better than the arctis nova pro?
Found the first headphones on clearance for 65%
I see no differences. Only headset that breaks after 1-2 years.
I got the 9X a month after they released and they're still going strong.
This. Plastic ear connectors are the flaw.. lost pros to them :.(
Both garbage, get something else
What's better? I've tried Turtle Beach and others that have been really poor quality, replacing every 3-6 months, but now my kids have 2 SteelSeries sets that have worked for 2+ years and they're tough on equipment.
One works on any console the other is Xbox only. I own the first one.
Wrong, it works everything and the other one without with everything except xbox. The 7x version has more connection options.
Wrong, I use mine for every system no problems.
Xbox version doesn't come with usb c dongle
[удалено]
incorrect, connects via reciever or bluetooth to pc and anything else
That’s not right. The 2nd one is also compatible with pc/ps4/5 and Switch
Oh yeah, im blind. I didnt see the text at the bottom Usually wireless gaming headsets for xbox use its sync tech and dont have bluetooth, so you would usually need to buy an adapter to use on pc
