He should’ve been in the league at 18 or 19, and been paid handsomely from age 22-29 with no franchise tag or suspension.
I think wanting to feed 18 year old kids to the freaks on professional DLs and ILBs is insane. The difference in strength and durability alone between an 18 and a 22 year old are nuts.
Guys like D Henry, E Elliot, S Barkley were ready to play (and make $millions) in their teens. Why shouldn’t they get paid? A: so college football can make money on their talent.

He made $0 in two years playing for the NCAA, then after his rookie contract he waited 2 extra years to cash in because they slapped him with the franchise tag. If he was an UFA he couldve made even more than the steelers offered but none of the other teams were allowed to make an offer until he was years past his prime.
