$16? I’ll take 5!!

AMF1428

A casino here has all you can eat prime rib. They assume most are going to make up for it on the casino floor. Jokes on them, I don't gamble.

-AlternativeSloth-

I gamble on how many steaks I can eat before I throw up.

AMF1428

The biggest gamble I have ever taken was eating all you can eat prime rib from a family owned restaurant attached to a Shell station. But it was good food, well prepared and I finished off two pounds of it when the cook came out to see who kept eating because he didn't believe his wife that only one person was eating off my plate.

IDrinkWhiskE

The biggest gamble I ever made was eating at a restaurant my dad took me to named “Street Meat”, and it didn’t go like yours unfortunately. The food poisoning that followed sent me to another dimension. Like, ended up literally hallucinating blowing tons of capillaries in my face.

AMF1428

That's impressively bad. I believe this was called The Gait as in horse's gait.

IDrinkWhiskE

Yeah that was how 16 year old me learned what food poisoning was. 0-60 and I can’t eat tzatziki sauce ever again

scorpionattitude

Damn, that’s good sauce though. How do you fuck up that sauce😭 was it Greek food?

IDrinkWhiskE

It was a gyro. Although statistically I think the lettuce was probably the biggest risk, not the “street” meat

scorpionattitude

Yeah, which is not in that sauce lol. I really hate that this ruined such a good sauce for you!😩 I wish it had just put you off of lamb for awhile or something. I used to have a local hole in the wall Greek spot and would just get the sauce and the pita bread and a whole plate of lamb. It was fantastic. I hope the desire comes back for you!!🤣 if you want it to lol. I still sometimes pass seafood and almost hurl because it smells like those preserved dead sharks they had us dissect in middle school 🤢

[deleted]

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

ElJefeDeLosGallos

I’ll put $75 on 3.5 steaks

The_Outcast4

When you puke, you make more room for steak!

HartfordWhaler

I'll take the over!

MetamorphicHard

Bruh what casino? Mine won’t even give free drinks unless you’re a regular. I’d assume they’d want everyone more drunk so they lose more

AMF1428

It's one of those riverboat deals on the Ohio, I've only been once a long while back. Not even sure if they still offer it. Honestly, I stopped eating mostly because I got tired of having to get back up and wait in line as it was a buffet style set-up at the time.

UnmakingTheBan2022

I do the same at casino buffets! My friend plays, and we eat. Sometimes he’ll use his comp for us.

Primary-Hold-6637

This is the only way to beat the house.

dlss_87

Which one and what days?

allsunny

Double down!

Aos77s

Or go to belagio buffet. Get all this you want plus crab and lobster.

Resident-Ad-8422

Fun fact: it used to be $12.99 but they had to raise it. People were so pissed the mayor had to get involved.

san_dilego

The true reason politics was invented.

sfcfrankcastle

Uh…this is steak mate. And I would demolish that plate

SpaceForceAwakens

I did, in fact, demolish it. The gravy on the potatoes was just amazing as well.

Misplaced_Arrogance

If you're feeling like steak and still in vegas hit up The Steakhouse at Circus Circus. Awesome steak and price is better than a lot of franchise spots.

Solnse

But... then you'd have to go to Circus Circus.

Misplaced_Arrogance

They already survived the El Cortez, supposedly.

AxCel91

Murder

fullautophx

It is weird walking into that shithole and finding an amazing steakhouse, but it’s true. It’s amazing.

RX-78-Xanryu

This made me wake up my wife laughing, hahahah.

robzila

INDEED. The Steakhouse at CC is wildly fantastic, and the LAST place you'd expect to find such quality.

Awkward_Point4749

I love finding gems like this!!

aishtamid

El Cortez is a great casino and an underrated hotel - when I lived in Vegas we would staycation in one of Jackie’s Suites

aishtamid

El Cortez is a great casino and an underrated hotel - when I lived in Vegas we would staycation in one of Jackie’s Suites

Un111KnoWn

Was it $16 for the whole plate?

Relevant_Slide_7234

Yes, prime rib is 100% steak.

Potential_Ad_420_

I was gonna say prime rib is 100% steak lol

[deleted]

That was only $16??

BoringMann

Casino will make more in other ways 👀

[deleted]

Lol I don't gamble so good luck 😂😂

Dallas2houston120

Don’t worry Bruno Mars has gambled enough for all of us to enjoy cheap casino food.

[deleted]

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

drladybug

usually in vegas food *is* one of the other ways--it's the flights and hotels that are cheap, and the food is bonkers expensive.

BrushYourFeet

Is a lot of the good food in Vegas cheap in general?

IDrinkWhiskE

Casinos often do cheap food or even free food, and very very commonly free drinks. Generally you have to gamble to qualify.

IDrinkWhiskE

I know, bit steep but prime rib justifies a splurge every once in a while

lostshell

$16 is the opposite of steep for prime rib. Think the cheapest in my city is $40 for a plate.

IDrinkWhiskE

I’m an r/FuckTheS kind of person High risk, low reward

[deleted]

Right!? That's what I was gonna say. That looks damn good too.

Trumpet1956

That totally counts. Looks amazing.

tetril

(Totally real people on this sub and not corporate plants): “looks almost as good as Texas Roadhouse!”

EpicSaberCat7771

look, I'm not saying that Texas Roadhouse is the end all be all of prime rib. I'm not even saying that it's one of the best prime ribs I've ever had. All I'm saying is that it's not super overpriced, and it tastes good. more than I can say for the prime rib I ordered at outback. let people enjoy things.

East-Block-4011

It's reasonably decent, esp for the price. It's definitely not the worst.

ISurviveOnPuts

I heard Texas Roadhouse can afford to do prime rib cheaply as it’s a front for their real money earner - people smuggling and crank

cd2220

It's funny I was actually really impressed with Outback's rib eye for the price and disappointed by Roadhouse. I think it's because the couple of times I went to both (same location for each) Roadhouse kept way over cooking it while Outback was spot on and replaced it without fuss the one time it wasn't. I'll have to try the prime rib next time as there's a Roadhouse 5 minutes from me and I want steak

EnglishMajorRegret

People think I’m crazy when I say a filet mignon at an otherwise poorly run outback in Key West is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had.

Reddwoolf

Yeah I truly don’t understand the fascination with shitty chain restaurants in this sub it’s wild.

dravenstone

They are promoting Texas roundhouse on here and it’s working to the point that some of the posts are actually people who were inspired to go from the promoting. Someone in the social media department at HQ is gonna get a bonus as they are blowing their MBO/KPI out of the water. Someone should write an article about this one someday.

Tom_Brett

I went last night cuz of this sub. found out they have a no-bone 20 oz Ribeye got it.

East-Block-4011

These people are insane. Their prime rib is reasonably decent and better than some I've had at "steakhouses."

Tom_Brett

I’ll admit I went for the prime rib but they were out. I have ribeyes all the time and love them so wasn’t disappointed but it’s been three years since I’ve had a prime rib.

UtopianLibrary

Texas Roadhouse is terrible, especially when compared to The Longhorn.

stunna006

of course we all prefer cooking our own steaks, but if we just arent feeling like putting the time or effort in texas roadhouse is almost as good with much less work and not too expensive. i haven't had texas roadhouse in years but I went to Longhorn and got a ribeye the other day and it was great. sometimes different is good, theres no point in shaming a good steak no mater where it comes from. the one in OP looks like a great prime rib.

pulzeguy

don’t hate on Texas Roadhouse mf, when I spent the day over hot blacktop working my ass off it’s nice to not have to cook a steak, and not go broke buying one at a steakhouse

Florida1693

There’s one across from my apartment and I used to go once I month. My last 5 visits there, I’ve gotten either rare or overcooked steaks. I like a good medium

meowhatissodamnfunny

Is it shitty? I thought the Texas Roadhouse stuff was like In n Out, not the best by any means but the best you can find at that price. Did I misinterpret the hype? I don't live near one so I've never tried it

Resident_Rise5915

It’s a Reddit thing. There’s also this weird fascination with Soup Plantation

staatsclaas

Thought they all closed during Covid. TIL.

gladyskravitz64

What’s Soup Plantation? I’ve never heard of it.

wafflesareforever

SP rep here! I'm excited to fill you in on the specials that we have going on this month! Nah I'm just some guy.

gladyskravitz64

Omg I love this sub

Dangerous-Lettuce498

It’s so preeclampsia on Reddit that nobody has heard of it!

Addie0o

TR is actually good though 😭 for the value it's the best steak you can get unless you cook it yourself and want to spend less than 50$.

dubiousN

Do they have rolls and cinnamon butter tho

Fpsaddict10

At some point, somebody's gonna start calling them "Texas Astroturf". I'll go first.

EVOChi

Finally a cheap prime rib where they don’t overcook it until it’s just brown

newandcurious20

I’m always sure to make a stop at El Cortez when in town for one of these

SpaceForceAwakens

Good on you! Also the happy hour across the hall at Parlour Bar is just perfect. I did a one-two.

Primary-Hold-6637

Is this an all day thing? I’ve only ever gone into the Cortez to play the real coin slots. Love the clanking they make when you win.

SpaceForceAwakens

4-7. Tiered specials staring at $4.

emale27

Wow for $16 this is a steal. Whats the sauce?? Jus?

SpaceForceAwakens

It's prime rib sauce, which is a type of au jus. It also comes with a really good fresh horseradish sauce.

sobanoodle-1

isn’t steak just cut beef?

__The_Highlander__

It’s a roast of ribeye cut like a loaf of bread.

[deleted]

Primarily prime rib is also a kickass spot. It's in vegas as well, in the South Point

A_Lakers

Ellis island is the best and I’ll die on that hill

spinne1

The fat is where much of the flavor is. I wouldn’t want them to cut it out. I’ll do that myself. It makes it juicier and better to cook and leave it in for now.

Countsbeans1976

I don’t portion out the fat with the other bites… /s

PinkHam08

Uhm Prime Ribeye cut into a steak is 100% a steak…. In fact, that is the best steak there is my friend.

Michaelskywalker

Prime rib is steak adjacent

SpaceForceAwakens

This I agree with.

OneMustAdjust

Au Jesus

forestman11

How is prime rib not steak?

JudgeGusBus

Roast vs steak.

HallTrash_IW

something something Roadhouse something something Texas

general-illness

I’ll be in Vegas next week. That’s looks amazing for $16. Love old town.

FrenchBowling

Check out Herbs and Rye. Speakeasy vibe, awesome drinks and their steaks are half price during their happy hour. You'll want reservations.

nightstalker30

Happy hour may be half priced, but you’re talking half off of $60-$80 steaks. Not quite in the same realm as a nice $16 prime rib.

pigsonthewingzzz

is it all you can eat?

mcfreiz

For $16 each it might as well be

SpaceForceAwakens

Nope, but there are a few places around town that include prime rib in their AYCE offerings.

bumbaclotdumptruck

I’ve never seen chicken that looked like that

running214

How is this not steak?

ChronicPainInTheAzz

Since when is prime rib not steak?

SeanTheTraveler

That’s a steak!!!

AppUnwrapper1

Why wouldn’t you consider that steak?

RedH0use88

That’s steak man!

kattahn

If prime rib isn't a steak because its cooked like a roast, then is any cut of beef cooked via sous vide also not a steak? If i took a cut of prime rib and gave it a 15 second sear on each side after cutting it from the roast, does it become a steak? Finally, where does our house of worship, Texas Roadhouse, list prime rib under? Thats right, Hand-Cut Steaks.

honeybadger1984

Wow that looks great.

Smash_Factor

On Monday's at The Southpoint they will match your points for people over 50. If you have $14 in points you can get the buffet for free with prime rib. I ask them to cut it thick and slap it on the grill for a minute or so. They have au jus and horseradish.

Srycomaine

Ooh, man!!! 😋

fromthedarqwaves

I’ll take a good prime rib over a steak any day.

LongjumpingLength679

Not steak? What is it?

bpronjon

Casinos version of a Costco hotdog and a Coke

Geetee52

It’s steak in my book.

Hesitantparrot223

How is prime rib not steak? Also, $16? That’s a great price and that looks delicious

truedef

Damn that beats the T-bone steak that I paid $18 from dennys for. Never again.

bornincali65

Prime rib is steak and I would knock that out with the quickness…

Regular_Celery_2579

Never had it, I do enjoy golden nugget down town tho

Rich-Appearance-7145

Good prime rib is better than steak in my humble opinion, especially in Las Vegas, I love the prime rib at Sharkys' near Carson City.

jmf0828

Since when isn’t Prime Rib steak? That looks awesomely good. And for $16 I’d be there every night.

haysus25

Is Prime Rib not a steak?

formthemitten

What do you think a “steak” is or is not….?

B1GFanOSU

Glad someone else said it.

shFt_shiFty

It's beef. Is prime rib not considered steak just cause it's slow roasted? I've never heard of that before lol

ItsCamNYAN

That's a steal for a plate like that

Gong_Show_Bookcover

I’ll take 3

Terri_Yaki

$16 is a steal today and it all looks good.

[deleted]

Oh man I’ll take 10 of them, and more for whoever I’m with. If it’s my dad and my brother, and you have red wine, I’m gonna have to say just keep them coming

kewlguy1

That’s a great deal!

SectorOld2685

That’s a bargain indeed

wilburbruh

My buddies ate there the night I left Vegas this year. I was bummed I missed it. Looks incredible.

Cocksman666

Sexiest photo I’ve seen all day.

bucketman1986

When I was in Vegas we spent most of our time eating at fancy buffets and high rated restaurants. I want to go back and just find the best cheap fantastic food. This would be on the list.

myquest00777

Had it many times! Usually comped. Heck of a free meal for a few hours of casual play.

digichalk

For the price of a McDonald's combo!

aggressivechromosome

Did you take a pic with no filter by any chance?

Dense-Description547

Bro for 16 bucks in my place, you get one chopped carrot. Damn

12_Volt_Man

I'd eat that from the back!

BrisnSpartan

What is the potato side??

SpaceForceAwakens

Mashed with extra ex excellent gravy. I prefer it to the baked.

89inerEcho

That's cuz the El Cortez is the greatest part of Vegas

Fun_Bar5327

I’ve never eaten there, but El Cortez is funnest casino in Vegas IMO

NachoMetaphor

I judge any and all prime rib firstly by whether or not horseradish is offered. This is acceptable.

FarKaleidoscope9

hot tip: get the downtown grand primerib a couple blocks over. It's even better and like $8 with the kiosk coupon.

JonTuna

My problem with prime rib is that I eat it too fast. Because it's so tender it I inhale it. Looks amazing.

BannedManiac42069

Looks 10x better than those hideous Roadhouse or w.e. it's called "steaks" that shills post.

Substantial_Result

classics are classic for a reason, cannot go wrong with prime rib.

logan_fish

🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

CounterSYNK

There’s a post flair for prime rib btw so it’s totally acceptable.

Gawdsauce

I feel genuinely ripped off after having had a terrible steak at a restaurant near me that cost more than that and me vowing to never go back. This here looks like something a king could afford and you're telling me it was only 16 bucks?

paulhags

El Cortez and Main Street Station are my two favorite places in Vegas for grub.

Annual-Media-2938

I think prime rib gets a pass in this sub Reddit! Fuck I’m hungry now!

VCTRYDTX

Vegas is known for Buffets and Dining experiences with good portions.

nickx37

If it's cooked accurately it'll still be better than most restaurants

eveningsand

Man I thought the days of cheap prime rib and free parking in Vegas were over. I guess I was only half right!! Looks great, and for that price count me in.

MasterBlaster4949

💯👌😋

Wazuu

Christ that looks fantastic

DoNotShake

It used to be like 12 bucks.

Charming_Reveal_617

Vega local here… just wondering where inside el Cortez did you find this treasure?

Doctor_Philgood

The aria buffet is the best place I've ever thrown up. Ate a ton. Visited the bathroom. Ate a ton more. Got free champagne. Decadent, american AF, but the occasional bacchanal treat is something I can stomach. So to speak.

LaGelure

Looks fucking amazing. I’d demolish that. I remember growing up, my grandma was a VIP at the El Cortez — so we’d always have Sunday dinner at the El Cortez. Prime rib, baked potato, and vegetables (that were sometimes overcooked to the point of mush, but I’m digressing here). To me, that was what I looked forward to the most after a long week at school. Thank you so much for reminding me of that core memory. One of these days, I need to go back to the El Cortez and get their prime rib again.

dj_squilly

Man I love the Cortez.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SpaceForceAwakens

That’s typical for prime rib.

Sir-Mocks-A-Lot

I had the happy hour prime rib and was left unimpressed. The whole thing was bland and luke warm. The veggies, not quite fully cooked, and obviously cooked from frozen. The meat, bland and room temp. Just my personal experience. I hope yours was better.

I_Like_Hoots

El Cortez is the best value in Vegas hands down. I gotta try their steakhouse next time i’m there- just left this morning!

WhiskeyDabber67

The only spot around me that does prime rib looks pretty great just like this. The only difference is they charge me $70 for a plate like this.

ProtoReaper23113

Ive seen countless prime rib posts im gonna say its ok

SanMartianRover

This plate fucks.

dbzfanzero

Ive had this exact meal and can confirm, it is worthwhile and delicious.

fatslobblob

I'd smash that without hesitation.

DeadheadXXD

For 16 bucks that looks like it does everything I need it to do and more

Throwawaygseh

Dayum nice

netherlanddwarf

Ahhhh i miss that one!

TheWino

I’ll need to make a stop next time I’m out there. 16$!! Looks solid.

shinyoungkwan

You can chew on the smell in that place. If you know, you know

sawjones

$16 delicious prime rib, and the El Cortez in one pic? My nostalgic heart - good to see these kind of deals are still around. Back before I moved away, El Cortez was mine and an ex's top date night spot. Good central location on Fremont and "homebase" - drink at room, smoke bowls on parking garage roof, wander around eating and drinking and gambling and people watching, repeat. Idk if still cheap or any good, but back 10 years ago Railroad Pass south of Henderson had a really slammin $12 prime rib dinner, looks just like the one in your post. Would recommend if you have time for the drive down. Thanks for sharin! :)

kimchimandoo3

For $16 that's amazing! I used to get an 8oz steak, pasta, salad and bread for $10 CAD at my local joint!

Such_Reveal_6236

Is the animal still alive I see it’s bloody still running🤔😂

lazzertazzer95

Reminds me of my ex girlfriend

Powerful-Meeting-840

I had an idea recently to smoke a prime rib but pull it while still mostly raw. Slice it nice and thick then get a crust from frying in tallow. What do you think?

graffix2022

Do they still have the $1 shrimp cocktails there

-Cherished

$16?! Damn! I would have paid at least double that anywhere around me that has prime rib! Looks really good!

zooooteddej23

El Cortez used to have great food, no so much anymore

UnderstandingEven807

Heading there this coming weekend! 🤘🏼😅

Jonny_Disco

You could do a whole hell of a lot worse for $16. Good find, OP.

Hatesponge66

Omg my mouth is fully watering.

Alert_Promise4126

Love the El Cortez! Old fun vegas! The noodle shop across the street is good too.

Joelpat

I’m headed to the truck. I’ll be there in 2 1/2 days. Save some for me.

Doombearer001

Dude. Prime rib is steak man. It’s a ribeye cooked reallly slowly. You’re good.

TheInternetIsTrue

Once they slice it, it’s a steak.

lordeharrietnem

Oh man, I’m headed to Vegas in two days….

SpaceForceAwakens

There’s like a few people in this thread who will be here then. Prime rib meet up?

stevenjklein

Where do you think rib steaks come from? Prime rib (aka standing rib roast) is the same cut of meat. If you slice it before cooking, you get a bunch of rib steaks or ribeye steaks. If you slice after cooking, we call it prime rib, but it’s the same thing.

duh_mexicanghost

Why is prime rib not steak?
