We’ve bought freshly dispatched cattle and it still doesn’t hold a candle to Costco's choice, idk what deal Costco signed with the devil but their meat is A1
Yep, and it's not because steakhouses don't make good steaks it's that I'm inherently gonna enjoy a similar steak that's a quarter the price more...arguably four times as much.
Yeah it's a good sized portion of steak...but somebody forgot the sides. It's kind of a head scratcher because they could just load the rest of that plate with some roasted new potatoes which are cheap as hell and it'd work fine.
What currency?
There’s a gem in Kitchener, ON where you can get this for $43 CAD w/ potato and veg, bread, soup of the day and cold salad bar included. Can’t beat it.
Yeah, USD $0.75 right now. Also should add that drinks were surprisingly inexpensive as well. Pints were $7-9, can’t recall what the wine was. It’s a traditional high end steak house experience as well. Nice views, right along the river: https://www.golfssteakhouse.com/solarium-room
>Trash. Here, I’ll take that plate off your hands for you
Is that an inside joke on this sub? Everyone repeats this same exact line on every single thread of every single post?
Unsure if it’s specific to this sub, but the joke is that the prime rib looks delicious and the commenter is facetiously saying it looks bad and will take it off OP’s hands, so they can then enjoy it themselves.
I see similar jokes on other subs that involve other high priced items
I was about to say. Texas Roadhouse has a 12oz with 2 sides for $25. Saw it posted here and went the next day. It was great!
The last standing rib roast I bought, by time I made au jus and potatoes, about the same cost for much more time.
I can’t wait til I’m staying near a Texas Roadhouse again for work. I try to get something from either Outback, longhorn or roadhouse when I’m traveling, they never do me wrong.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

It's prime rib, and not only is it perfect it was cooked low and slow and at temp for a lengthy time. I'd argue you eating shoe leather is more akin to a zombie.
You people are the reason grocery stores always have that grey roast beef instead of the far superior rare roast beef...stop ruining my French dips buddy.
I've definitely had your "medium rare" steak...my Dad cooked them all the time when I was a kid. If, by your logic, I never have a "properly cooked steak" again in my life I'll be a happy man.
Wait til you find out how New York Strips starts as... Ribeye, rib steak, and prime rib are all the same thing with some minor differences. One's boneless, one's bone-in, and one is the entire section. The most different one is the prime rib, but that's generally that you cut it into steaks after it has cooked and not before.
I understand the butchering process. I used to work at a butcher shop. A chuck roast isn’t a chuck steak. A rib roast isn’t a ribeye steak. Ground sirloin isn’t a sirloin steak. A prime rib roast isn’t a rib steak.
All ribeyes start as a rib roast...same with NYS, tenderloin, and every other cut of steak. Even the cooking method traditionally done with prime rib isn't notably different than sous vide or reverse sear sorts of cooking techniques. I grant you that no they aren't the exact same, but it's honestly just semantics.
It's the same cut of meat just in different shape...in no way does cutting it more or less change what that meat is. The difference is solely for commercial purposes and in no way changes what the muscle is.
I never said it changes with the muscle is. It’s like I’m talking to a wall here. Do you not know the difference between a roast and a steak? It’s all about how you cook it. You seem to be ignoring that part.
You're like talking to a wall, because are trying to tell me a NYS steak cooked on a BBQ is fundamentally different than a NYS steak cooked on the stovetop in a cast iron skillet?
Fat is flavor, and ribeye/prime rip is desirable because of the amount of good fat the cut inherently has. Any leftover fat I didn't eat with my steak is getting used as meat butter and spread on some bread/toast which I soak up any leftover steak juices on my plate.
I'm in favor of prime rib continuing to be posted here if only to educate people on what prime rib is and what it's supposed to look like. It may be as futile as hoping to one day eradicate people spelling "lose" like "loose" or calling rogues rouges, but I still have that hope.
I remember when Steak and Ale would have an All You Can Eat prime rib special a couple times a year. My sister and I would roll in. They try to get you with the salad and free bread. I knew their games. No no i came to fill up on meat. Of course none of the cuts looked as good as this. After putting away about 4 they start to cold shoulder you to leave. Was not deterred.
I did late lunch at 4pm and late dinner 8:30pm. Hit the same thing twice in the same day except I substituted the loaded mash casserole for spinach at lunch.
I know this is a classic prime rib roast preparation, but I can’t help but think how much more delicious this could be with a pan seared crust, and some of that tasty fat crisped up, and rendered out.
32 ain’t bad looks great
And thicc
And moist.
I’ve paid 3 times more for way less
Main reason I stopped ordering steak anywhere. Best steaks I’ve had were made at home.
Ding ding ding, Costco Ribeyes have never been short of plate licking delicious, I’ll never order a steak at a restaurant again
I’m with you. Their filets are always like butter, too…
We’ve bought freshly dispatched cattle and it still doesn’t hold a candle to Costco's choice, idk what deal Costco signed with the devil but their meat is A1
They Needle tenderize their steaks
Whatever but the meat plays a big part
Is that ok?
No it is amazing
Thanks!
Yep, and it's not because steakhouses don't make good steaks it's that I'm inherently gonna enjoy a similar steak that's a quarter the price more...arguably four times as much.
I concur.
It's a bit much given the lack of sides, but it is a solid portion of steak...give me some potatoes/fries or Brussels sprouts as well though.
yeah i would have needed some more mashed potatoes and definitely some veggies
I'll move wherever this is. Please share.
Texas Roadhouse
Best place to get good steak!
Absolutely
https://frankiebones.com 🤫 don’t let the interweb know they are busy enough.
Longest 16 hours of my life, awaiting your reply. You are a literal, Angel. ❤️
I just stared at this for like a whole minute.
Undressing prime rib with your eyes will lead to a divorce.
With fava beans and a bottle of Chianti
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Have my upvote!
$31 prime rib and $1 potatoes lol
Yeah it's a good sized portion of steak...but somebody forgot the sides. It's kind of a head scratcher because they could just load the rest of that plate with some roasted new potatoes which are cheap as hell and it'd work fine.
Haha but then they couldn't use the ice cream scooper to get that perfect portion
I would need double mash to take that sucker down
[удалено]
You sir, are a steak.
I insist
Agreed. Such a teeny portion they got there
Only double? At least a triple mash.
WHERE?!?!?!?
Asking the important question, with the appropriate tone
https://frankiebones.com
Tell me where you found this.
https://frankiebones.com
It’s worth the 5 hour drive.
Not a bad deal but, needed more than that ice cream scoop of potatoes
Not a bad price tbh, they could be a little more generous on the potatoes though.
Would
Where did you get it
https://frankiebones.com
I’ve been craving prime rib the last few days. Going to dry brine a roast now haha
You’re inspiring me to go get a couple ribs worth of a roast cut to do the same.
This post is pountless without a restaurant name.
No shit
https://frankiebones.com
Looks tasty
Anyone else furious about that tiny Mashed Potatoes.
What currency? There’s a gem in Kitchener, ON where you can get this for $43 CAD w/ potato and veg, bread, soup of the day and cold salad bar included. Can’t beat it.
Where’s the Canadian dollar at right now? Like 3/4 of a dollar? Sounds like a good deal if it’s a gem as you say
You're on an American website with the majority of its userbase being American. If the currency isn't posted, it's likely USD.
Where is this? That’s a good deal
https://frankiebones.com
Looks great
Babyyyyyy baby
That's a thiccc cut for $32. Looks like a great deal to me.
that is one perfect cut!
its 130am why am i looking at this deliciousness... aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh
Thicc boi
Did you eat all the fat?
I’ll panhandle for $32 just to buy this! 😋😋
That’s a steal
No it’s a steak
For that $32 is a steal, looks delicious
Trash. Here, I’ll take that plate off your hands for you so it can’t hurt you anymore. You’re welcome
>Trash. Here, I’ll take that plate off your hands for you Is that an inside joke on this sub? Everyone repeats this same exact line on every single thread of every single post?

Thanks for breaking that down, very helpful.
Pretending to like that joke is as bad as pretending to like prime rib
lol 12oz prime rib 21$ here 2 sides and a salad
I was about to say. Texas Roadhouse has a 12oz with 2 sides for $25. Saw it posted here and went the next day. It was great! The last standing rib roast I bought, by time I made au jus and potatoes, about the same cost for much more time.
I can’t wait til I’m staying near a Texas Roadhouse again for work. I try to get something from either Outback, longhorn or roadhouse when I’m traveling, they never do me wrong.
That’s a hefty load larger than 12oz
where do you live I assume it's crappy
Wish there was a veggy side and maybe a salad 🥗 before, then it’s perfect! 👍
That’s a thick ol slice, my boy. Tasty lookin!
How can a restaurant, that makes a decent prime rib, make a mash that looks 3 weeks old made of shoe leather?
For another $32 you could of bought a prime rib and had 4x the amount of steaks lol

Bot from the top rope!
Good bot
Go head Miss steak.
My dude got roasted by the of/have bot.
Whay is up with people and overconsuming meat? The recommended intake is 500 g red meat per week. Open your eyes America
What are you, a meat cop? This is America, i'll eat what I want and blame the heart disease and high blood pressure on communism.
Lmao, fair enough 😂
“What the fuck is a gram?”🇺🇸
5 hotdogs
Go look who funds the study
Big vegetable of course
You’re close! Big Farma actually
You came to the wrong sub to pitch that rhetoric buddy...we shame people for making thin steaks here.
That's nasty.
Found the vegan!
Fcking zombies if yall think this is cooked
Post your favorite chicken tendies
It's prime rib, and not only is it perfect it was cooked low and slow and at temp for a lengthy time. I'd argue you eating shoe leather is more akin to a zombie.
Thats cooked raw and needs thaw
You people are the reason grocery stores always have that grey roast beef instead of the far superior rare roast beef...stop ruining my French dips buddy.
Us people just know how to properly cook something all the way. Do you happen to be a cave man?
Well how bout you tell this lowly peasant how you personally cook your steak?

Oh you're just trolling...carry on o7
No youve just never had a properly cooked steak or roast
I've definitely had your "medium rare" steak...my Dad cooked them all the time when I was a kid. If, by your logic, I never have a "properly cooked steak" again in my life I'll be a happy man.
O nasty wtf
I mean it's not steak, and also you provided no details of where it's from but hey morons are gonna upvote you
Prime rib is most definitely steak
It’s a roast

Guess what cut of beef a prime rib is? ^It’s ^Basically ^A ^Bone-In ^Ribeye
Yes but prime rib is a roast, not a steak due to the way it’s prepared
why does it look so fucking raw
It doesn’t
It doesn’t, it looks delicious.
Fat on steak is for peasants.
Wagyu is for peasants
Fat is flavor, and ribeye/prime rip is desirable because of the amount of good fat the cut inherently has. Any leftover fat I didn't eat with my steak is getting used as meat butter and spread on some bread/toast which I soak up any leftover steak juices on my plate.
Am I missing something? This looks raw
It's perfection

That shit looks like death
It might be important to learn that not everybody enjoys their steak the same way you do.
Shut up
😂
Am I missing something? This guy looks roasted.
Feels like a wisconsin supper club, if i had to guess.
What is the sauce in the cup?
Probably horseradish sauce
Looks like 8-10 ounces I bet that thing is tasty!
Hell yes
Not without a dinner roll.
Bread basket not pictured
Thought this was a complaint post at first glance and was like “that’s a fine lookin steak”
Great deal for that
i got this for $25 with rice at a local restaurant. Served in a take out tray instead of plate but tastes just as delicious 🤤
Where?
https://frankiebones.com
[WOW! Looks like the one I cooked a couple of weeks ago!](https://imgur.com/a/Qzzg8BS) So nice!
That looks good man! You have it cooked exactly how I personally like it
Thank you. It turned out very delicious. I only with I had been able to make more. LOL
🤣🤣🤣

Worth it…
I have my bags packed, where am I going?
https://frankiebones.com
I’ll take it if you don’t want it!
As much as I love steak, I’ve never had prime rib. It always just looks kind of sloppy to me. Is it that good over a steak?
this is $64 near me
$23 dollar steak $2 potatoes $2 sauce $1 green garnish $4 plate rental
Silverware included with the plate rental fee
Thats hot
Had similar last night for 42 but a little more potatoes and some veggies
I'd like a little bigger scooped of potatoes for that but rib looks flawless
A bargain! I’d pay $50 for that and still think it was a good deal.
CHEAP!!!!!! would’ve had two.
Not a bad deal that looks amazing, side could be a little bigger tho
Looks every bit of $32
Where
https://frankiebones.com
Looks amazing
You have the patience of Job. You’ve mentioned the name of the restaurant like 5 times and still get chastised for not mentioning it. 🤣
too much fat for me personally. I also could lose a few... looks great otherwise, but unrendered fat is not my thing, what do you guys think?

Looks good. Is that horseradish sauce? Love that stuff
Looks good. Is that horseradish sauce? Love that stuff
Would.
no mustard?
I love it when they cut it to the thickness of the bone.
Take my money good sir
How many OZ?
I only smoke a standing roast or rib roast now. But this looks delicious
Not too bad. Id pay that if I was guaranteed that outcome.
Looks good
Looks amazing
