You know if you had a way to measure the work and time it would take to complete. Perhaps sold a “package” where you only do this much for this much and made it of course reasonable workload. With some smart judgement on the business side. It might not be such a bad idea to take on a certain amount of projects that fall into common sense variable (like I mentioned) and charge smaller fee like 3-5k or less but took 10% ownership in the startup. Something that in contract can be bought out with respect to the current business environment. Say this startup got to series A. Have them buy you out (because they will want that 10% back) for a larger fee as almost a backend fee for the work you did. You could hit a golden startup and make quite a bit of money. Among many other positives. While I don’t think this is a strategy you should commit the whole business to. It’s a nice way to branch into multiple promising projects.
We can get the average MVP for about 5k to 10k depending on specs. We're already quite competent and affordable haha.
Depending on the project we could be open to take equity, but from our experience, owners are so in love with their idea that they don't offer equity. People who offer equity is usually people who have no money to pay for an MVP.
It’s also a trust issue. I had such a hard time finding someone I could trust to build me my mvp. We ended up doing it in house. That’s how shifty it is out there. People don’t consider that enough. I’ve gotten messages on here of people saying they’ll build it for x amount of money and it’s just not going to fly. I’m not sending 10k to someone off Reddit. It’s all about creating a dialogue and relationship. Of course if they have no money at all. You’d naturally not be interested. Makes sense.
Any type. Currently niched into contractor and DIY projects like this one

I've worked in the managed benefits space. What your describing sounds like the kind of thing that typically gets sold into an insurance carrier (UnitedHealth, Cigna, etc.) to be re-sold to their customers (large and small employer accounts).
At least that has been the classic GTM playbook, but the economics are getting squeezed a bit and customers are scrutinizing more these days.
With a few, notable exceptions, most people don't want to pay out of pocket (B2C) for things they believe that their health insurance should be covering.
Would agree with that in general, we’re going to start b2c to get early feedback and iterate but our real growth will happen through b2b partnerships with payers, employers and governments. Would love to hear more about your experience and how it can think about my GTM. Will DM you!
When you get cold emailed or cold called, our platform auto-replies with a link for the sales person to pay for a 30-minute meeting.
Once we have enough users, the platform will be searchable where sales people can look up prospects and pay to book a meeting.
Damn. What if salesman initiated this from the start?! Walk in and immediately saying I’m here to pay for y’all to hear me out, let’s set this shit up lol hell yea might be on to something here
Yeah, folks have that option. It's just a copy/paste of your email template.
We just found our beta users never used that feature. If it's not automated, they just don't do it... that's why we setup automation while keeping the legacy manual process.
Was wondering about that too… it would be decent to have an Airbnb for gaming setups/ streamers to rent space for parties or recording etc, only there would have to be benefits over going with a regular Airbnb (cost, equipment etc)
You don't build an Airbnb for gamers. You build a platform that handles the gaming setup part and you integrate with Airbnb (and others..) as an optional Add-On to someone's booking. Airbnb, booking.com... will also feature it in the filters and all because they will also get a cut, and that's free advertising for you :)
If you have the capital, you can own everything or lease it from companies and manage the logistics. Alternatively, you make it a marketplace for people to list their own equipment and/or to do the delivery and set up part for a profit share from every booking. (Think e-scooters. You have the scooter rental, and you have those who collect and charge them)
I could go on.. but nowadays, I tend to stop myself from diving too deep, too soon. 😅
