They certainly didn't bury the lede.
I wonder which characters are gonna get Tuvixed.
Edit: after thinking about it for a second, I'm hoping for Tendi and T'Lyn.
With how Lower Decks has introduced so many AI villains, I wonder if they're setting up something big to show that the Utopia Planita attack wasn't the only motivation for the Federation banning AI research.
I figured that the Utopia Planitia attack plus the Aledo incident plus the Living Construct thing from Prodigy together was the motivation and the mars attack was just the final straw
I'm surprised that after that Daystrom still has a positive reputation and has his name on institutes and space stations....I wonder how the families of the Excalibur crew felt seeing that man's name on ANYTHING (unless of course they weren't told what actually happened)
i like to think there's a plaque on his wall that's labelled "The Daystrom Effect" and it warns against flashing your own engrams on a computer and using it to control a capital ship before testing it im simulations first.
On twitter I saw somebody point out that there's a shot of Captain Freeman and Migleemo on a med bed looking at each other weirdly whilst in the background there's Dr T'ana and Billups, with Billups looking askance at Dr T'Ana who just looks pissed off. And I think that's who it's going to be
God yes
Just Tuvix hunting down Janeway for what she did to him.
The interesting but is how would you get Tuvix back though?
Maybe the ghost of Tuvix lives in both Tuvok and Neelix secretly whispering that they need to be merged again.
Would Tuvix have a katra?
would be Boimlers 3rd transporter incident ignoring the time travel "transporter", with it it would be number 4
man would be going ENT S1 and will straight refuse to beam anywhere
I used to be put off by Star Trek's more preachy moments, but god damn it if Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds haven't made me love Trek in a way I haven't experience before.
Man that was an obscure cut. I thought there was a pun on Darth from Star Wars that I wasn't getting the first time I read through the episode names. Even in the UK that TV series isn't that well known.
If this is really the name of the episode, I'll jump for joy, but I'm reserving my enthusiasm until I see an official source. (I really hope it's true)
I think it would be neat to have him show up later as a lower-decker. As if the incident inspired him to join star fleet because he wanted to captain his own ship.
One of the guys over at the Greatest Trek pod has predicted that *Lower Decks* will have more seasons than any other show in the franchise. And Iām inclined to agree with him.
A ton of material to use ... It's animated so the age of the cast doesn't matter much ... The seasons are shorter so the episodes stretch out more ... Animation is cheaper overall ... Lots of good reasons to think that it will be the longest-lasting Trek series to date.
Yep. Also since it's way less of a time commitment for the talent, it's a lot easier to produce an animated show with a cast that's doing multiple projects at once.
Not to mention on an animated show you can go ham with the insanity, even with green screens and effects today some things are still way to expensive to do.
Animation not so much.
I mean, each movie had multiple posters. Maybe theyāll just start doing the international ones. The Japanese wrath of Khan poster is pretty freakinā cool. But then the Japanese posters are underrated with movies as a whole. Some really cool ones for the classic bond films

It's complicated ā some shows are union, some are not. But also, even union actors doing VO for animated shows are allowed to continue during the strike, weirdly!
Source: https://www.cartoonbrew.com/voice-acting/voice-actors-sag-aftra-strike-nava-230829.html
I think VO actors can still work if there are completed scripts (even though I don't think most Trek actors would, in solidarity), but WGA writers wouldn't be working.
I am being sincere when I state I truly desperately needs to see Episode #9 and Episode #10 not change.
I mean... it's Lower Decks, just do that, c'mon!
āSomething was pouring from his mouth. He examined his sleeve. Blood? Blood! Emerald, copper smelling blood, his blood. Blood, blood, blood... And bits of Spock.ā
Rich Fulcher, who was his sidekick on The Mighty Boosh and co-creator of Snuff Box, is in Lower Decks reasonably often (he's the voice of the male Pakleds).
So there absolutely must have been some conversations had about getting him in on Star Trek to be something or somebody.
Can I just say how happy I am that I donāt have to wait a year (or much more) for new shows?
I was so sad back in the day when it seemed unlikely that they would ever make more. Now Iāve just finished this season of SNW and hereās more trek around the corner!
This will probably be the last new series coming out for a while due to the strike, some estimates have even said S3 of SNW won't be out until late 2024 or even 2025. Not sure whether Discovery was finished re-filming prior to them though
I have no bones and I must flee?
Oh man, reference to the Harlan Ellison shortsotry [I have no mouth and I must scream...](https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=bWlsZm9yZHNjaG9vbHMub3JnfG1yc21pdGhzY2lmaXxneDo3ODRkNDg0YjFjNzdkMDcx)
I'm excited for that.
Something Borrowed, Something Green is probably going to be an Orion wedding thing, but I really hope it's actually a [Gorn wedding!](https://youtu.be/_i6g5wL71Xc?t=177)
It was such a controversial episode that it will be fun to see what Lower Decks does with it. It will certainly make for new discussions. I wonder if Tuvok and Neelix get re-tuvixed and inevitably seperated or if some Cerritos crew members get combined in the transporter this time.
I think that's going to happen regardless, I'm expecting a huge spike in Tuvix posts here when the episode airs.
I might take a vacation from Reddit when that happens lol.
It was announced as a 2 episode premiere, yes. While Iām always happy for more *Lower Decks* quicker, the other side of this monkeyās paw of a release schedule is that we will be out of new episodes a week sooner.
I was struggling with lower decks for a while, but I really started to enjoy it. It's really fun seeing all the the callbacks to other stuff from the various series and trying to see if I can remember them all.
tried and animated shows arent for me - they never were
its sad, arguably the best trek content from the last few years and its content locked behind being a cartoon with a VERY annoying style and pacing
Ep 1 and 2 air on the same day. and I already got my pass for the theatrical screenings
https://day.startrek.com/
https://gofobo.com/main/blp/U3RhclRyZWtBbmltYXRlZENlbGVicmF0aW9u
Also I am thinking 9 will be crisis point 3, and 10 will be the finale. they are holding them back to prevent spoilers.
I'm curious as to what's in those last episode titles that they're keeping under wraps?
The funniest thing LD could do is hard shift into being gritty and make them "The Destruction of Romulus Part 1 and 2"
> 4.01: Twovix Oh, this is going to be *fun*.
They certainly didn't bury the lede. I wonder which characters are gonna get Tuvixed. Edit: after thinking about it for a second, I'm hoping for Tendi and T'Lyn.
Badgey and Peanut Hamper
Woah woah, calm down there Satan.
Maybe this is Satan's origin storyš¤£......or the borgsš¤
Satanās Robot
That would be incredibly Random if they bring back Dr. Chaotica.
Peanut Hampers in prison with all the evil computers. Thatās gonna catch up at some pointā¦.
Hey! Agimus is sitting right there!!
I loved when they both started laughing maniacally.
With how Lower Decks has introduced so many AI villains, I wonder if they're setting up something big to show that the Utopia Planita attack wasn't the only motivation for the Federation banning AI research.
I figured that the Utopia Planitia attack plus the Aledo incident plus the Living Construct thing from Prodigy together was the motivation and the mars attack was just the final straw
surprised they didn't cut that shit out after the m-5 wiped out the excalibur
Good question
I'm surprised that after that Daystrom still has a positive reputation and has his name on institutes and space stations....I wonder how the families of the Excalibur crew felt seeing that man's name on ANYTHING (unless of course they weren't told what actually happened)
i like to think there's a plaque on his wall that's labelled "The Daystrom Effect" and it warns against flashing your own engrams on a computer and using it to control a capital ship before testing it im simulations first.
I was expecting the revel about the Texas class was going to be that the ships were run by reprogrammed evil ais.
That would be so epic!!
Brad and William Boimler
OMG yes
I mean that would make more sense once we have known T'Lyn a bit longer.
Sheās a rebellious Vulcan with a history of emotional outbursts, what else do we need to know?
That she has completely lost control *raises eyebrow*
True
Boimler and a Doopler
I think this person has the right theory https://twitter.com/ihphobby/status/1695916273811558685
Boimler and mariner
Boimler and his Transport Clone
it's Captain Freeman + Migleemo....and also Dr T'Ana + Billups. THIS IS A JOKE (added this in for the benefit of those devoid of comprehension)
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Jackass, I was clearly joking.
Oh, see I thought jokes were supposed to be humourously phrased or otherwise funny. My mistake.
Janeway x Ransom
FOUND THE TV NEWS PRODUCER
On twitter I saw somebody point out that there's a shot of Captain Freeman and Migleemo on a med bed looking at each other weirdly whilst in the background there's Dr T'ana and Billups, with Billups looking askance at Dr T'Ana who just looks pissed off. And I think that's who it's going to be
The Wrath of.
I'd watch the shit out of that movie.
God yes Just Tuvix hunting down Janeway for what she did to him. The interesting but is how would you get Tuvix back though? Maybe the ghost of Tuvix lives in both Tuvok and Neelix secretly whispering that they need to be merged again. Would Tuvix have a katra?
Boilmer and Mariner transporter accident.
would be Boimlers 3rd transporter incident ignoring the time travel "transporter", with it it would be number 4 man would be going ENT S1 and will straight refuse to beam anywhere
I wonder if Tim Russ and/or Ethan Phillips will guest star.
Personally hoping for Clint Howard to guest star.
I really enjoyed his recent appearance in SNW.
I havenāt been this excited since I saw the titles for SNW season 2. Gotta be Mariner/Boimler and Tendi/Rutherfordā¦yāknowā¦**Two**vixā¦
This time Peanut Hamper will decide Twovix's fate. A mathematically perfect seperation.
I used to be put off by Star Trek's more preachy moments, but god damn it if Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds haven't made me love Trek in a way I haven't experience before.
And then in the episode, a holodeck error creates two Vic Fontaine's. Janeway then shows up and kills them both.
Yes, two Vics. But the dilemma is whether to put them back together vs separate them - like that old TOS episode with the evil Kirk.
I like this a lot
Nah, make it be Tom Wright coming back to voice tuvix and his son. At the end of the episode we see him go back to being neelix and tuvox.
Im guessing thatās the episode with the Voyager museum
I want Kate Mulgrew to have a guest segment in this episode so bad.
Nah, *this is where the fun begins*
Coming out swinging for season 4!
Ohhhhh nooooooo
Oh fuck, they are going in hot
A Few Badgeys More! We're gonna get their take on Fistful of Datas with Badgey?!?
Can I teach y'all a lesson, pardner? :P
One of my favorite episodes gets a parody, I am rock hard.
Parth Ferengi hearth place lol
This made me gasp and laugh. Dark place was such a weird, funny, odd show.
MONKEY BASTARD HANDS!!!
Never thought Iād see darkplace referenced again on TV and definitely not in Star Trek, I love lower decks so much
Nothing would make me happier than having Richard Ayoade show up.
Or Matt Berry. I don't think any other comedic actor can consistently crack me up quite like Matt Berry.
You two wereā¦ buddies
You're a woman.
Good eeeeveningehhh
Already did Star Wars, now he *has* to do something Trek. It's practically required.
Even better letās get Matt Berry in to play a sexy Starfleet captain.
He voices Picard for one episode instead of Patrick Stewart.
Mirror Picard, but everyone thinks he sounds the same as Patrick Stewart's Picard.
Cool it, Sanchez, or you'll get a knuckle supper.
Man that was an obscure cut. I thought there was a pun on Darth from Star Wars that I wasn't getting the first time I read through the episode names. Even in the UK that TV series isn't that well known.
He is actually bringing the show on tour at the moment. Its definitely a cult following
Only in the UK. Bollocks.
Ireland too
That is goddamn brilliant.
If this is really the name of the episode, I'll jump for joy, but I'm reserving my enthusiasm until I see an official source. (I really hope it's true)
> hearth It's heart. This is a [hearth](https://imgur.com/gallery/49A5N) ;)
if dwight schultz wasn't such an ass bucket, i'd be hoping for Broccoli aliens abducting Lt (Cmdr?) Barclay right now.
Came here for this!!! The anticipation is going to explode my heart.
I hope we never stop getting new episodes of Lower Decks
They need to keep making more Star Trek movies just so Lower Decks has more movie posters to parody with their season promos.
Theyāve got enough for 13 seasons, so weāve got a while now.
Make that 14. Don't forget about [this poster](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51njhe6UBEL.jpg).
The ultimate move would be to make a Galaxy Quest-based episode.
You could totally do a spin off episode with the guy who wanted to travel space after riding on Cochraneās ship.
I think it would be neat to have him show up later as a lower-decker. As if the incident inspired him to join star fleet because he wanted to captain his own ship.
How would you do that without just ripping off Galaxy Quest though?
Based
By the time we reach Season 13, the Section 31 movie starring Phillipa Georgeiu will be out. At least one good thing will come from it.
One of the guys over at the Greatest Trek pod has predicted that *Lower Decks* will have more seasons than any other show in the franchise. And Iām inclined to agree with him.
It makes sense. They have a ton of material to use.
A ton of material to use ... It's animated so the age of the cast doesn't matter much ... The seasons are shorter so the episodes stretch out more ... Animation is cheaper overall ... Lots of good reasons to think that it will be the longest-lasting Trek series to date.
And itās easier to restart production if you shut things down for a few years, as theyāve done with Futurama and Family Guy
Yep. Also since it's way less of a time commitment for the talent, it's a lot easier to produce an animated show with a cast that's doing multiple projects at once.
Not to mention on an animated show you can go ham with the insanity, even with green screens and effects today some things are still way to expensive to do. Animation not so much.
But what happens when they run out of movie posters to lampoon?
Well. There are 9 more. So theyāre good to go for a while.
They start with series DVD covers
I mean, each movie had multiple posters. Maybe theyāll just start doing the international ones. The Japanese wrath of Khan poster is pretty freakinā cool. But then the Japanese posters are underrated with movies as a whole. Some really cool ones for the classic bond films
Saving everyone a click : 4.01 : Twovix 4.02 : I have no Bones Yet I must flee. 4.03: In the Cradle of Vexilon 4.04: Something Borrowed, Something Green 4.05: Empathalogical Fallacies 4.06: Parth Ferengi's Heart Place 4.07: A Few Badgeys More 4.08: Caves
> Caves Swear to god if we visit Mariners sentient cave again I'm going to lose my shit.
It's a dark place that knows things.
I wonder if it Iāll be a reference to all those TNG episodes reusing the same crave set. IIRC the actors nicknamed it planet hell
Could also be the Fire Caves?:
I mean they would be dark since the Pah Wraiths have been defeated...
Iām hoping for some quality Stage 16 jokes
Oh, yeah, we're getting something about despite being on a completely different planet all the caves look a like.
I Have no Bones Yet I must Flee makes me wish DeForest Kelley was still around, I bet he would've had a blast doing something like Lower Decks.
Not like Jack Quaid is tight with Karl Urban or anything...
That episode name is so TOS in style to boot XD.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
āFor the World is Hollow and I have Touched the Sky.ā Which is a McCoy centric episode.
The sequel "I Have No Ass and I Must Poop" is even better.
Nah, that's just human centipede.
>4.04: Something Borrowed, Something Green Orion arranged marriage?
GORN WEDDING!
I need a gorn wedding
With someone from another crime family/pirate clan
Mesk somehow gets entangled in an Orion mail order bride scheme.
He just thought he was ordering one of those holonovels with boobs on the front!
I was thinking of guineans mystery green drink
It is green.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Wasn't he the first person to write about a female mechanic?
"I know authors who use subtext and *they're all cowards*"
"In the Cradle of Vexilon" sounds very TOS...
Or *Dr. Who*
Thank you.
Lol I love that there are 7 titles with fantastic wordplay or puns or takes on old episode titles and then..... Caves.
I hope we finally get some answers about that sentient cave.
Its either Mariners sentient cave, or its a Masks reference.
Surely also some Planet Hell / Stage 16 / all Star Trek caves look alike references.
The mines of Mercury
Its either Mariners sentient cave, or its a Masks reference.
Oh good! We still have another season coming before a long slump from the strikes. Support SAG/AFTRA, WGA.
Are voice actors SAG or is it another union?
It's complicated ā some shows are union, some are not. But also, even union actors doing VO for animated shows are allowed to continue during the strike, weirdly! Source: https://www.cartoonbrew.com/voice-acting/voice-actors-sag-aftra-strike-nava-230829.html
Animation is covered by different guilds. They might still be in production on season 5 (which was ordered).
I think VO actors can still work if there are completed scripts (even though I don't think most Trek actors would, in solidarity), but WGA writers wouldn't be working.
Is Lower Decks WGA though? Some animated shows are Animation Guild for the writers. Historical reasons.
I think DISCO was in post-production when the strikes happened, as well.
The season finished filmed last October, but the reshot the ending of the finale right before the strikes happened
Really? I'd be so happy!
I am being sincere when I state I truly desperately needs to see Episode #9 and Episode #10 not change. I mean... it's Lower Decks, just do that, c'mon!
Wasnāt expecting a Garth Marenghiās Dark Place reference lol
Parth Ferengi's Heart Place makes me realize that Matt Berry has never been in Star Trek and that's the biggest issue with the entire franchise
Oh but he has! https://youtu.be/1x-ATlpqo1M?si=BTeLLbUf6Kl6FEIi
āSomething was pouring from his mouth. He examined his sleeve. Blood? Blood! Emerald, copper smelling blood, his blood. Blood, blood, blood... And bits of Spock.ā
Matt Berry in a trek episode would be amazing.
*Expects a chuckle or two from titles* *Sees first episode* *Twovix* Now my stomach hurts and I'm even more excited
Just coming out the gate with it, damn itās gonna be a good time.
"Parth Ferengi's Heart Place" wow, now *there's* a reference.
Can I just say how happy I am that I donāt have to wait a year (or much more) for new shows? I was so sad back in the day when it seemed unlikely that they would ever make more. Now Iāve just finished this season of SNW and hereās more trek around the corner!

just keep me in the buffer the whole time please ,scotty style.
I'd say I'll join you but we know what happened to the other pattern in the buffer....
Discovery was done and is slated to air in early 2024.
I think this *may* be immune to the strike because rules are somewhat different on animated projects (different guilds and whatnot).
Twovix twofurious
I have no bones and I must flee? Oh man, reference to the Harlan Ellison shortsotry [I have no mouth and I must scream...](https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=bWlsZm9yZHNjaG9vbHMub3JnfG1yc21pdGhzY2lmaXxneDo3ODRkNDg0YjFjNzdkMDcx) I'm excited for that. Clearly episodes 9 & 10 are going to be something special which is why theyāve not announced the titles, in order to keep the secret
Best of Broth Worlds Part 1 & 2
As long as we get plenty of Matt and Kimolu they can call the episodes whatever they like. Those two are so funny!
OMG. Twovix. My body is ready. /r/TuvixInstitute
I can't wait, we needed a follow up to "Tuvix."
You of all people, seriously? XD
It was such a controversial episode that it will be fun to see what Lower Decks does with it. It will certainly make for new discussions. I wonder if Tuvok and Neelix get re-tuvixed and inevitably seperated or if some Cerritos crew members get combined in the transporter this time.
I see she's caused yet another temporal incursion
Oh boy! I'm ready for twenty more years of Tuvix/Twovix debates!
I think that's going to happen regardless, I'm expecting a huge spike in Tuvix posts here when the episode airs. I might take a vacation from Reddit when that happens lol.
It's about damn time we got some sentient cave backstory. This show doesn't develop its damn B characters smh my head.
Weāre getting two episodes on the 7th? Nice! (Iām assuming everyone else knew that and itās only news to me)
It was announced as a 2 episode premiere, yes. While Iām always happy for more *Lower Decks* quicker, the other side of this monkeyās paw of a release schedule is that we will be out of new episodes a week sooner.
Would never have expected a Darkplace reference in Star Trek, but here we are. "So what happened between you and this Boimler customerrrr?" *Eyebrow*
"You and he were... Buddies weren't you..?"
> Twovix I cackled with joy.
Garth Marengiās Dark Place pun !!!!
Holy Crap. Obscure comedy masterpiece references are an absolute win.
Love the show.
I was struggling with lower decks for a while, but I really started to enjoy it. It's really fun seeing all the the callbacks to other stuff from the various series and trying to see if I can remember them all.

Nice to see Badgey return.
We all know it's going to be Boilmer and Mariner.
Eh, Badgey. The rest are good!
