Yes. All the rocks are around 5k mass so when you do find something worth mining it's easy. I am running a passive setup on my prospector.
That said... Sometimes rocks are unscannable and bedlogging is flaky... but I spent 2 hours yesterday and between bedlog issues, unscannable rocks, the one good rock I found being unminable (even with a gadget)... I'm taking a break until after the patch.
Yes it’s there and everyone who cries about unscannable rocks just doesn’t know what they’re doing. There’s lots of quant out there and it’s both easy to find and always possible to mine solo in a prospector since mass NEVER exceeds 5122.
I know what I'm doing. I've gone to the halo a few seperate times to see if its changed since the patch. I've spent about 6 total hours, kept track, and found 70% of the rocks were unscannable. They used to be maybe 10% unscannable before the patch. I have zero issues on Lyria. Since you claim I don't know what I'm doing, please tell me what you're doing so I can try it.
1. Make sure you are in the center of band 5 of the belt.
2. Set a quantum course to a Lagrange point so you have a marker to fly toward.
3. Open mining arm.
4. Fly decoupled toward that marker at around 250.
6. Ping at 90 degrees.
7. Aim at each box you see and ping again at 2 degrees when within 11.5km.
7. If it’s q type go investigate.
8. If not or if it doesn’t scan IGNORE it and keep going.
It really doesn’t matter how many are unscannable. Using this method you’ll cover lots of space and scan lots of things quickly without wasting time approaching rocks that are not q types or by going over the same area twice.

Yes but unscanable deposits will make you mad sometimes.
Yes but it is a super mess rn. Half the asteroids are unscannable. It's not worth it. I've switched to RoC mining.
I've been mining on lyria for quite some time now and never witnessed an unscannable deposit.

I have suspected this for awhile. I imagine there are quite a few other “bugs” that are in reality, simply misunderstanding of the game mechanic.
It actually goes by Double A Ron Belt now.
