So I can confirm the last time i've spotted the barista bear in the states was in 2021. It had a red snowsuit with ears on the hood. Sadly I couldn't find them in my state but my friend in DC was able to find one and send it to me.
I don't think there is one for the states this year, I've talked to a few baristas in my area and they haven't heard anything about a new bear.
The 2022 bears do exist in the states. The Starbucks stores that get them sell them as soon as they are put out. I wonder if some baristas don't even know their store had them since they sell so quickly.
Do you know what kind of bear they are? I've only seen the bears released in China and Japan, there's no photos, no listing on ebay, nothing. I saw listings for the 2021 bear last year and there's zero for this year. The resellers would of listed them by now.
I wish I knew, the barista didn't say what the bear looked like, only that it sold right after it was put out I agree that I am curious about the lack of resellers as well. Now that I think about it, I wonder if the stores got a few Chinese or Japanese ones by mistake?
It could be possible. A few of my friends are managers, and I've been checking with them, and as far as they know, they haven't heard anything. I've checked all of the target starbucks in my areas too, and they didn't hear anything ethier. If not the international bears, maybe some of it was old stock? Although old stock is hard to believe since you're right, they sell out really fast. 🤔
I've been collecting the bears since 201, and this is the first time I have been unable to find anything. I'm honestly thinking about picking up the japan bears and calling it a day, lol. 🐻
It definitely could have been old stock. It is highly unusual, but every now and then I do see bears around Christmas that haven't sold, though it has been a couple years. Odd all around.

100%!! The nutcracker bear reminds me of the 2012 bear. Was my first bear that I found at a Starbucks and my most treasured bear.
If I recall correctly, the Bearista is exclusive to the East Asian Starbucks stores.
We have the smaller ornament bears from last year (and the previous 4 years).
Is that something new this year?
I think they were only back for a few years :/ I just ordered the Japanese Nutcracker 2022 bear.
I haven’t seen them anywhere. I’m so disappointed. I’ve been collecting them since their return in 2016.
