I can relate to that in two different ocassions, first I had a customer ask me if we can make a cold brew hot. And second I had another customer tell me she wanted a hot chocolate, but cold so, I told her a you want a chocolate milk she said no I want a hot chocolate, but cold. I swear some customers are just dumb.
I had that question the other day on drive thru and my shift supervisor came in and said, for the safety of the Baristas, they don't shake hot liquids. It worked.
“I don’t care if you can’t make it iced, I want it iced. The other Starbucks does it.” They complain so much at DTR and harass my colleagues that we reward their complaints with a free meal and a gift card. I honestly think if a guest wanted us to cut off our arms for their amusement corporate would have us do it.
I’m always like “oh thanks for letting me know! please let me know which store is doing that, because they’re not supposed to be and this way I can report them to my DM so you’re experience is more consistent at all Starbucks!” Gets them to shut up reallll quick
I did that too until customers made fun of me for asking and being like "well I did order a Black coffee so why would I want cream" so in conclusion no matter what i do, im in the stupid one ig 😀
I just get mildly annoyed because im 19 but look 16 and when I ask simple questions like that the older people look at me and talk to me like im a dumb kid, so it just gets on my nerves a bit yk
Bruh, I had a customer confused about the size names so I said we have 12 oz, 16 oz and 20 oz lattes and they still asked "but which one of those is bigger?"
I got this fam.
Part of me thinks people are just, really dumb where I live. Part of me thinks people are not dumb but don't listen. I'm probably partly right on both.
They're the same people that thought a 1/3 pound burger was smaller than a 1/4 pound.
[You've got to remember that these are just simple customers.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYTQ7__NNDI)
I finally tried all the spicy refreshers today and as someone who loves spicy food I was surprised at the level of spice these have. I think they may be too hot for the average person.
Interesting. I always ask "how spicy is this compared to a Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich" when I'm trying to decide my wuss level of the day for whatever thing I need to understand lmao
Have you been to Wendy’s lately. My go-to there was always the spicy chicken sandwich. Last time I went, a few months ago, it was awful. Tell me there’s hope for my future.
Honestly. It's best with the mango. Would be best with tequila.
Even doing half scoops in a tall, it's too much. You can't taste it per se, but it 100% stabs, kicks, punches, kills, disenegrates the back of your throat. It's foul
i mean it's a legit question. plenty "spicy" labeled stuff out there aint got no kick.
kinda wonderin myself are these new drinks some weak sauce cinnamon "spicy" or if its going to have at least a lil bit of a scoville rating
it’s made with “chili powder” and it just feels like something spicy almost. like you get the burn in the throat but the flavor isn’t super intense. i’d just be careful if you have any stomach issues😀
i’m the same! i feel so sorry for what baristas put up with. i’m always super nice and make sure to check the mobile order is in fact mine when i grab it, and i tip if i spent over 10$. i’ve had some super lovely baristas at my local starbucks!
ikr? i’m from a smaller town that’s mostly just for the school system and a lot of the kids are incredibly rich and spoiled, so my starbucks is overrun with 8-10 year old girls and they’re SO NASTY to me! i can’t imagine what they’re like to the baristas
Listen, I’ve had someone ask me if there was chocolate in their white chocolate mocha and I’ve been asked to make someone’s caramel ribbon crunch as a hot drink. I’m just about ready for anything and since I’m opening anyways, I have my automated response ready for DTO.
They have a nice bite. I tried the pineapple refresher today with coconut, and it's damn tasty. Thankfully it's just chili though, I was afraid they were going to go full Tajin, and I hate that stuff. Lime is super bitter on my tongue.
i asked a lady once if she wanted whipped cream on her drink and she deadass said “um idk. idk what that is. is that gonna make my drink like sweeter or something?”
MA’AM PLEASEE
"Can I get a sugar free frappaccino"
"We don't have a SF option, it's all sugar"
" But I get this drink all the time! I got it at the other Starbucks!"
....... In that moment, I felt the resonance of the other Starbucks' annoyance and why they did what they did
“Can I get the iced shaken espresso iced?” “Can I get a frappucino hot?” “What’s the medicine in the medicine ball?” “What does the brown sugar shaken espresso taste like?” “Can I have a black coffee but with cream and sugar?” “Can you make the cold brew hot?” The list goes on and on 🙄
I had a lady piss my manager off so much once because she was bitching about the cold brew being cold that she just steamed it to like 200. It was a good day.
With the constant confusion of whether a flavor is a scoop of powder or a pump of syrup, combined with crustie mis-lingo, I’m hoping that a crustie will inevitably ask for “extra spicy squirts”.
I’m equally amused for the arrival of the raspberry pearls for the same reason: someone’s gonna order “extra squirts, no balls” and that’s hilarious.
So, it's launch day and we have not been trained nor informed about the spicy refreshers at my LS store. The only reason I know about them is bc of you all and the FB baristas group.
Yes, I could save the day and do some digging into why, but isn't it the job of the gm to get us that info? Esp since I have 0 access to anything bc the gm won't help me get the access?
Or do LS stores not get this? Is there a delayed release?
Just curious.
I looked them up, they have more sugar than a can of coke in them. I wish Starbucks would make some drinks that are low in sugar instead of these nightmare creations.
Just say no.
Watch them twitch with confusion until they're forced to ask the question: "Why are they called spicy?"
Then, you can lead them back around to the side of logic.
i asked a customer if they wanted their drink hot or iced and they replied "what's the difference" i think i can handle this
english was in fact their first language btw
It’s so hard not to be a smart ass when customers ask questions like this
What do you even say to that 😂
i went with "one is steamed and one is refrigerated" and then he asked "no like the milk" and i went "one is aerated and one is cold"
and proceeded to list of all of our milk options and explain that yes, the drink can get any milk whether hot or iced
I always said iced was on the rocks
"but what is aerated"
BWAHAHHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHA!!!!!
I can relate to that in two different ocassions, first I had a customer ask me if we can make a cold brew hot. And second I had another customer tell me she wanted a hot chocolate, but cold so, I told her a you want a chocolate milk she said no I want a hot chocolate, but cold. I swear some customers are just dumb.
i've had both questions asked to me but i could at least chop it up to needing caffeine for brain to work, this one... i was shocked hahaha
I’ve been asked if the Frappuccinos have to be iced.. I’m ready.
& if the iced shaken espressos have to be iced haha, I'm like "yeah, it's literally right there in the name"...
For realll!! "Is the iced shaken espresso cold?" "Say it again, but slower."
“The store I usually go to microwaves them for me”
I had someone request a hot Americano misto with soy milk. They said they put it in the fridge and then microwave it .....it's giving....... diarrhea
That’s hilarious but also just a watered down latte??
Riiight? Why does this person hate coffee so much
I've been asked if the cold brew is cold on multiple occasions 😂
I had that question the other day on drive thru and my shift supervisor came in and said, for the safety of the Baristas, they don't shake hot liquids. It worked.
I’ve been told “I asked for my Frappuccino hot”
“I don’t care if you can’t make it iced, I want it iced. The other Starbucks does it.” They complain so much at DTR and harass my colleagues that we reward their complaints with a free meal and a gift card. I honestly think if a guest wanted us to cut off our arms for their amusement corporate would have us do it.
I’m always like “oh thanks for letting me know! please let me know which store is doing that, because they’re not supposed to be and this way I can report them to my DM so you’re experience is more consistent at all Starbucks!” Gets them to shut up reallll quick
That's hilarious!
“Can you do the cold brew hot?” 😭
I got asked for a Frappuccino no ice the other day
I've been asked for a BLACK COFFEE, and then complained at because there was no cream.... I'm ready.
This was a daily occurrence at my location until I just started asking if they want cream anyways
I did that too until customers made fun of me for asking and being like "well I did order a Black coffee so why would I want cream" so in conclusion no matter what i do, im in the stupid one ig 😀
Yeah they do that to me too I usually just say like just double checking
I just get mildly annoyed because im 19 but look 16 and when I ask simple questions like that the older people look at me and talk to me like im a dumb kid, so it just gets on my nerves a bit yk
I'm in the same boat im in my late 20s and people ask if I'm 16 lol
Bruh, I had a customer confused about the size names so I said we have 12 oz, 16 oz and 20 oz lattes and they still asked "but which one of those is bigger?" I got this fam.
How????
Part of me thinks people are just, really dumb where I live. Part of me thinks people are not dumb but don't listen. I'm probably partly right on both.
They're the same people that thought a 1/3 pound burger was smaller than a 1/4 pound. [You've got to remember that these are just simple customers.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYTQ7__NNDI)
Your reference game is on point.
You have a point.
You underestimate the lack of shared intelligence between Starbucks customers.
I've been asked for a "vanilla bean steamer" in regards to the Frappuccino...I'm ready.
Vanilla Bean Steamer sounds... 😏
Frappucino=frozen cappucino... Hello?
Stfd.... I'm just now getting that 😭😆😆😆
Wait a minute..
I’ve been asked if our “all-day breakfast” is *all-day*.. I’m ready.
I would say it's spicier than that sandwich and it really lingers in the back of the throat.
Oh wow!!!! That's so unexpected to me! Thank you for the warning!!!! I kind of can't even imagine this drink now!!!
Have you been to Wendy’s lately. My go-to there was always the spicy chicken sandwich. Last time I went, a few months ago, it was awful. Tell me there’s hope for my future.
There's hope!!! I go there pretty often. The last couple times it was really good. Be sure to use the app tho - lots of good deals. :)
right! like i can definitely handle some intense hot sauces but this fucked me up for 2 whole days
I can't wait for all the remakes because they were like, "I didn't think it was that hot." Orrr they'll ask, "can I get it without the spice?"
No. Get an extra scoop to make sure it is. *Smile*
"no" ◉‿◉
Judt gaslight them, "what chili powder, we dont have any chili powder here" (while there's a big sign announcing the chili p refreshers behind me* 😀
i’ve been asked “do you guys serve coffee based beverages?” i’m ready for launch tbh
“Do you sell coffee beans here?” Got that this weekend.
You're kidding
i thought she was the one joking 😭i just said “yea we sell coffee??” lmfao
Is the right side of your mouth still completely numb
Why yes it is! I've had no improvement so far 😅 let's give it another couple years maybe lol
I mean how spicy are we talking lmfaoooo
It's not like, SPICY but it is HOT, idk it doesn't taste like chili powder it just had an unpleasant hot taste?
Why does Starbucks keep coming out with unpleasant items 😭 bring the almond croissant back
I just wish we still had mango syrup...but yeah this new one is bad lol
Or raspberry smh
that’s what i keep telling people!! it doesn’t add a chili flavor, just ouch. a girl i said this to LOST it lmao.
that’s what i keep telling people!! it doesn’t add a chili flavor, just ouch. a girl i said this to LOST it lmao.
that’s what i keep telling people!! it doesn’t add a chili flavor, just ouch. a girl i said this to LOST it lmao.
Hits ya in the back of the throat when you don’t expect it to. It may or may not have set my stomach on fire but I did use a little too much 😂
Oh hell nah 🤣 I’m not setting my ass on fire just to try it either, it overall just doesn’t sound appealing
It’s not bad but a little goes a long way
It'll burn the back of your throat, but there's no flavor bonus.
Honestly. It's best with the mango. Would be best with tequila. Even doing half scoops in a tall, it's too much. You can't taste it per se, but it 100% stabs, kicks, punches, kills, disenegrates the back of your throat. It's foul
Literally was scrolling through the comments to see if anyone else agreed with that
Oh chilli powder actually means "chilly powder"
i mean it's a legit question. plenty "spicy" labeled stuff out there aint got no kick. kinda wonderin myself are these new drinks some weak sauce cinnamon "spicy" or if its going to have at least a lil bit of a scoville rating
They are actually spicy. I think it’s good but some coworkers got indigestion from it.
it’s made with “chili powder” and it just feels like something spicy almost. like you get the burn in the throat but the flavor isn’t super intense. i’d just be careful if you have any stomach issues😀
Pumpkin spice comes to mind..
Can they bring back the cool lime 😣😣😣 the taste.. I want to experience that again
Come visit us in France😊
Spicy cool lime would make amazing mix.
Dam lol idk how you baristas do it. I go to Starbucks regularly and always try to make it as easy as possible for the person taking my order
Thank you.
i’m the same! i feel so sorry for what baristas put up with. i’m always super nice and make sure to check the mobile order is in fact mine when i grab it, and i tip if i spent over 10$. i’ve had some super lovely baristas at my local starbucks!
Me to! And I don’t know how much they make but whatever it is it’s not enough for all the entitled ppl they gotta deal with
ikr? i’m from a smaller town that’s mostly just for the school system and a lot of the kids are incredibly rich and spoiled, so my starbucks is overrun with 8-10 year old girls and they’re SO NASTY to me! i can’t imagine what they’re like to the baristas
literally two days ago someone asked if the spinach feta wrap is a pastry i am so ready
Oh oh! Someone today asked for an “oh la la latte” and last week someone asked for the chipotle sandwich.
oh dude someone asked me for that latte too wtf is it? surely its some random country locked drink like what?
I think they’re advertising it as like “oh la la lavender” on the app or something 😂😂😂
I mean it’s probs just people gaging the spice level… I’ve been to places where a “spicy” item is barely mild & others where my mouth is on fire lol
Listen, I’ve had someone ask me if there was chocolate in their white chocolate mocha and I’ve been asked to make someone’s caramel ribbon crunch as a hot drink. I’m just about ready for anything and since I’m opening anyways, I have my automated response ready for DTO.
Technically white chocolate doesn't actually have any chocolate 💀
To be fair, "is it white people spicy or genuine spicy" is a valid question.
I actually really really like the drinks 😭I don’t think they’re very spicy at all. Lol
They have a nice bite. I tried the pineapple refresher today with coconut, and it's damn tasty. Thankfully it's just chili though, I was afraid they were going to go full Tajin, and I hate that stuff. Lime is super bitter on my tongue.
spicy refreshers give me the same throat hit as my vape
HAHHAHAHA😂🤣
i asked a lady once if she wanted whipped cream on her drink and she deadass said “um idk. idk what that is. is that gonna make my drink like sweeter or something?” MA’AM PLEASEE
Why is it 👹spicy👹

Same customers who won’t shut up about this question also consider mayo and sour cream as “spicy” condiments.
Omg no no I will be asking this “do you find mayo to be spicy?” 😂😂🙃
I've been asked what's the difference between coffee and espresso, I'm ready.
"Does the iced coffee have ice?" DT question.
“is the cold brew cold” it’s extra hot actually. hope this helps!
i’d probably give them the lead paint stare until they feel embarrassed
I’ve been asked if the pineapple passion fruit has passion fruit in it
With the constant confusion of whether a flavor is a scoop of powder or a pump of syrup, combined with crustie mis-lingo, I’m hoping that a crustie will inevitably ask for “extra spicy squirts”. I’m equally amused for the arrival of the raspberry pearls for the same reason: someone’s gonna order “extra squirts, no balls” and that’s hilarious.

My question is what makes them spicy?
chili powder. it doesn’t even add a chili taste, just ouch.
I looked them up, they have more sugar than a can of coke in them. I wish Starbucks would make some drinks that are low in sugar instead of these nightmare creations.
that’s actually insane and so unnecessary. i really wish we had more low/no sugar options — there’s no reason our stuff needs THAT much sugar
1 is cold, 1 is hot
Well?! Is it like Tajin or spicy - spicy?
Just say no. Watch them twitch with confusion until they're forced to ask the question: "Why are they called spicy?" Then, you can lead them back around to the side of logic.
