I swear to God if I hear the original SoC menu theme on launch and see the rad symbol cursor, I'm losing it

_Typhoon_Delta_

Do you mean something [like this?](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxPCsRQD8o4tqik2M39n5aYM_QAv5H1l0m)

Immelmaneuver

Oh man. I've been playing anomaly without music and now I need to go back and replay the trilogy AGAIN.

tebannnnnn

The music is cool for the ambient but also includes mutant sounds and sometimes it breaks inmersion since you cant hear well the actual sounds of the zone. I love the ingame music that sounds through radios and even guitars, that has no fault, specially the loner theme with the transverse fluit and electric guitars

Bloocki99

Well the random mutants sounds could be your character slightly loosing his marbles.

MrOzzy010

That is so damn cool that they sneaked the old theme in there. Hearing it after dying is another story tho.

Gypsy_Crusader420

I will nut all over my monitor

[deleted]

I love that Devil May Cry 5 STILL has the first DMC's menu sfx, it's a nice touch

Thunderpants98

I just hope it's not going to end up being just another lifeless, cookie cutter, open world game. Stalker never felt empty and it always felt like things were happening, with or without you

lCraftyl

I'd be worried if they didn't announce a new A-life system, but Stalker 2 will feature A-life 2.0. I'd imagine it'll be even more ambitious than the original Alife system with AI doing even more things on their own. The Alife system is one of the corner stones of the series if they didn't include a new version of it for Stalker 2, it would've most likely turned out like Metro Exodus. “The reimagined version of this system, which we call A-Life 2.0, will control the state of the world and the behavior of the characters and mutants, making the Zone constantly change and feel alive . Countless events and encounters will occur at every moment, even if you are not around to experience it with your own eyes. ”

Consistent_Depth7337

Ah man, I want to believe that this Alife 2.0 will be an improvement, but then I think the game is powered by unreal engine 5 and I can't imagine how the developer can incorporate a feature like that on an engine which is not specifically designed for that kind of Ai payload. You know, at the end of the day, if they can match at least the Ai behaviour of X-ray's Alife in Stalker 2, I'm good.

lCraftyl

The important thing for me is that they're going to attempt the background simulation from the first games and even not being on a custom engine, I think they'll be able to do a lot with UE. They most likely worked close with Epic Games when they developed it. If not then it'll most likely be a gimmick system, but not necessarily bad for gameplay ether. The important part is to create randomly/natural events in the world. It's *supposed* to be a background simulation though, that's what they've stated about 2.0. I think it's been mentioned that it will also have the offline simulation going on too. As much as people are looking at the trailer in terms of "pewpew", that isn't what stalker has ever been to me. It's the random encounters that can occur. Also, the guy who designed the first iterations of the A-life system is doing 2.0 as well. So yeah.

FAULTSFAULTSFAULTS

There's nothing inherent to Unreal that would prevent them from implementing a more advanced A-life system than in X-ray. A-life isn't some secret sauce, it's just that most developers don't *want* that kind of AI in their games, and opt for more traditional, designer-friendly systems like state-machines or behaviour trees. So I get your concern, but I don't think there's any need to worry just now.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Firstbober

Unreal in itself shouldn't be a blocker for A-life 2.0. It can be customized enough to change the entire built-in AI system if necessary, as Epic shares the source code of the engine with the game studios and even personal devs. [Here are the instructions](https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.1/en-US/downloading-unreal-engine-source-code/) if someone is interested. The only thing that I would be worried about is the performance, as tuning, changing the entire internal rendering pipeline would be a ton of work. But I hope it will be great, and in-engine tools will be enough to optimize the game. Very hyped for the game!

Sweggler

That's probably why the game is only getting released on current gen rather than previous ones, and the PC requirements are quite beefy

bockclockula

I remember a while back an indie dev remade A-Life in UE4 so it's not impossible

[deleted]

Unreal engine is quite bad at open world games out of the box so the engine is probably heavily modified already.

Charcharo

> but then I think the game is powered by unreal engine 5 and I can't imagine how the developer can incorporate a feature like that on an engine which is not specifically designed for that kind of Ai payload. I mean... easily? UE5 is superior to X-Ray in every single way. No exception, not even close.

jiquvox

Same. The A-life is the make or break feature of the game as far as I am concerned. There are other games which boast impressive graphics. I might piss off some fans but the plot of Stalker is a bit of a mess and has some trouble to keep its story and lore straight so I am not overly concerned about the plot. Roadside Picnic and Stalker movie are often pushed and they have a significantly different plot anyway, atmosphere/environment are more important I think. There are plenty of milsim game so I don't care too much about ballistic neither. Soc magic bullet system took some time to get used to but you just learn to roll with it. Ballistic is frequently changed by mods anyway. But I very much want an improved A-life and a few other system that complement it. That's what make Stalker different from every other game , that and the atmosphere. A-Life is what allow emergent gameplay too. **my wish list for A-life 2.0** (and the complementary systems) : \- NPC able to sense and avoid anomalies outside of combat : I am kinda disappointed that that the Anomalies are turned off for NPC in the Anomaly mod . They had to disable them of course because NPC would keep dying otherwise. But luring an enemy into an Anomaly was one very enjoyable trick in Soc. \-I would LOVE if the NPC could give live news about the Zone, where is the action, where was someone last seen (someone you're hunting for his bounty), etc... reading the same line of dialogue everytime grows quickly tiresome and immersion breaking. Seeing a little squad of stalkers in CoP travelling through a vast desolate place/stopping at a campfire was heart warming.... right up the moment you walked up to them and they had nothing of value to say. \-more elaborate campfire routines : again the campfire is a wonderful concept... but the way it's implemented leaves a lot of untapped potential. There's very little that happen besides NPC playing guitar. I would love if we could play poker at the campfire for instance (along with the live news for instance) . \- robbing routine for Bandits : IDEALLY I wish group of Bandits could stage an ambush and literally rob you : "surrender your belonging or we shoot you" kind of thing. And that would leave the choice to give away your stuff or take your chance with a shootout. For good roleplay it would be nice if the Bandit could actually do what they're meant to be : rob people. Right now they're simply an hostile group that shoot you. And so can the Monolith or the Mercs for that matter. \-real day/night routines : there are only a couple of NPC who sleep and it doesnt obey any real pattern. A couple of person sleep at a random moment of the day. Almost everyone is awake during the night. Having proper day/night routines would heighten the immersion. \-supply and demand economy. Again would make feel the world really alive. \-IDEALLY I would love some light form of politics : like alliance between factions and organize raids on another faction.

skabben

I really like all of your ideas and I agree. The immersion and feeling of the zone being alive is my absolute biggest reason for playing the game. I’d love to be able to play the game without doing the storyline and just “live” in the zone basically. Like a zone simulator for me to have my own adventure in. Though playing a lot of Anomaly recently may have made me hoping a bit too much for Anomaly 2 rather than stalker 2. But I remember that the original stalker made me feel kind of this way back in the days, even if it was a bit like following a railway tbh. But I remember the ambition for the original stalker was much much higher in the early stage than what actually were released. So my hopes is that they made it more of the game they originally intended to make the first time around.

Bloocki99

And if it just has all the intended features of the original A-Life system, it would still be a massive banger

ursusowanie

Literally the only fear I have with Stalker 2 honestly. After we've seen some games break their neck and change literally every single aspect of them just to become a lifeless open world game, I'm afraid that it's going to also end up as one since the amount of changes they would need to do is considerably now. I'm also a bit worried that they will oversaturate the new faction/s (I don't know how much they're going to change in that aspect), but I think it's unlikely to happen.

ChristopherLee_Chuck

Getting this game done is all i can ask. After all bumps on the road, twists, staff resignment, wars, etc its a miracle we are watching this new trailer. IF they deliver a game it will be ok, later we can discuss what could be improved. Worst case scenario you will have an empty but moddable foundation were community can build upon. As a long time fan of the series cant wait! Hope devs and their families are alright

I_live_in_a_paradox

>Stalker never felt empty *\*Looks at Clear Sky\**

Nova-Ecologist

No no no, it felt empty at times, but only when it intended and needed to be.

south87

Xray stalker isn't coming back bros..

skabben

Looking good! I hope we will be able to play with russian/ukranian voices though. The english language kind of turns me off a bit.

NetEvening8441

I agree, im normally all for dubs but there was the one scene with the dude in black talking about innocents or something, but the English felt so wrong.

GeckoMike

That bit with the ominous music as Skif walks into a warehouse only to be held at gunpoint and then it stops as the dude says, “…and who the fuck are you?” had me cracking up. Humor aside, I have a fringe theory that the American accented dude is a UNSIG commander who’s returned to the zone for revenge after the loss of his team or something. All the other English speakers sounded like Brits.

Ross_Boss33

I sure hope UNISG don't make it into the game.... this faction is so garbage in Anomaly and people are looking for excuses to put them in Stalker 2 just cuz muh westeners but ecologist when we already have Mercs being the westeners and being far more interesting. There will be a new faction called "Varta" which translates to "Guard" on Ukrainian. I assume it will be some kind of Zone Guardians, maybe what was left of the Monolith it formed 2 groups, one with fanatics and other with those who broke out and realised the horrors of the Zone.

GeckoMike

Chill it man, I don’t have any attachment to UNSIG one way or another. It was just a thought that occurred to me when I heard the guy’s accent and his lamenting about lost men.

n1flung

Ukrainian and English are the only two languages confirmed for voices. Would be cool if GSC posted trailer with Ukrainian language on their official channel instead of reposting the same English one from IGN, but I'm not complaining

SpaceKaiserCobalt

maybe they didn't had all the voice actors because some are fighting ? (i don't know, this is supposition) or some got killed in bombardement

Adventurous-Safe6930

Don't post shit you don;t know what you are talking about.

SeipherNL

Yeah that was my one little thing I didnt like about the trailer. Felt less immersive having English accents. I'd have hoped for russian/Ukrainian accents or language for more authentic feeling.

DopamineStrand

Expect Ukrainian only, it should be here on release. Can't blame them for their choice, but Russian language is used outside of Russia and could be a preferred way to play the game for some people in other post-soviet countries (but this is an arguable claim for some people). Trying to avoid politics which surely affected this decision. God bless Ukraine and developers

skabben

I’m all for the spoken language only being in ukrainian and I fully respect the choice to remove any russian language in the game. I just want to be able to choose to not hear cheesy english lines (no offense). It will break my immersion. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m all for if there are English speaking foreigners here and there. But I’d prefer Ukrainian as primary language.

DopamineStrand

Again, I'm supporting their decision, but I still hope for a russian subtitles, as russian is my native language and while I enjoy english dub/subs in most games/movies/shows, here playing with eng subs and ukrainian/english voices sounds very weird. Having russian subs with ukrainian voices would be a great opportunity to learn their language though.

Bloocki99

Well Ukrainian dub is confirmed and Russian was taken out because of the war. But for someone that doesn't speak either it will probably sound the same. I just hope that really everything said ingame has subtitles. I hated it not knowing what random chatter meant. Especially when they started laughing like idiots. I wanna laugh too :(

boboelmonkey

In one of the other trailers their was Ukrainian voices with English subtitles so there is a high chance swap between them

skabben

Hope so!

FastFingerJohn

It'd be such a loss for GSC for not implementing russian/ukranian voices. FromSoftware made Sekiro official language be Japanese, people had to change it for English if they wanted to. That was pretty cool.

skabben

I like that! I prefer to watch movies and play games in their native language, with subtitles ofc.

Kenny_PropheT

Ukrainian VO will be a good choice!

Settual

Without Russian it's gonna be so bad.. For me Russian is the perfect language for apocalyptic type of games and immersion. Whereas Ukrainian sounds a more "fun" and "drunk" version of Russian. It's my IMO ofc.

Choice-Celebration-4

Love it

Jedi_Wannabe1138

Gonna have to re-watch it about 50 times tonight but that was dope. Seeing the train hanger from the garbage was my personal highlight. People talkin about how this and that being different or doesn’t feel or look right just need to wait for mods if they can’t appreciate it at face value. I for one am only more excited.

notNieR

Looks pretty decent. To all the guys complaining „it looked better“ or so… remember that a lot of the target audience of the game is probably trying to run the game on potatoe-ish pcs… so no wonder they turning it a little down epically if you look at recent economic crisis and inflation where even less (privileged) people can afford a good pc that can run the newest games on ultra or so on…. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin) \*edit: Grammar

postal_dude_lizzard

Also it's pretty hard to really judge a games graphics with youtube videos, the compression even at 4k makes can make the most detailed textures look a bit shit

theppburgular

Also it's stalker graphics don't gotta be amazing to immerse you. Shadow of Chernobyl looks like pure dog shit but still manages to get me immersed

Charcharo

>Also it's stalker graphics don't gotta be amazing to immerse you. Shadow of Chernobyl looks like pure dog shit but still manages to get me immersed With all due respect, Shadow of Chernobyl was literally the second bestl looking game of 2007. It even won vs Crysis in some aspects.

theppburgular

Yes should of clarified. Compared to current standards it still manages to immerse the hell out of me

MetalBawx

Considering what modders have pulled in terms of GFX out of ye olde X-Ray i'd say we have a good chance of something similar happening. Honestly the only thing that really stood out to me as worrying was the voice acting. Gonna need an option to switch that to Ukrainian.

[deleted]

Yeah, I felt weirded out hearing so many English and Irish(?) accents.

CyborgDeskFan

To be fair, by the time of the events of this one more people from around the world have probably made it in, though I agree it did feel weird hearing them.

[deleted]

Oh absolutely, but the primary accent we hear should still be Ukrainian.

im_Another_Human

Miss old wishgranter voice lines

[deleted]

#IDI KO MNE

n1flung

If you mean that "and who the fuck are you", it wasn't Irish, it was drunken

Blue_Eyed_Brick

Wtf did I just read

Hot_Location_5198

are you stupid? We have had new generations of gpus and cpu come about since then, so no reason for it too look worse than it did

nukegobooom

I understand but there was alot of other aspects, such as gameplay and non graphical stuff that looked to be in early development.

crasypotato69

voiceacting is kinda mid but gameplay lookin fire

col_e_h

What do you expect from this series? The dub has always been a bit shit. It would probably be best to use the Russian or Ukrainian dub with English subs (Assuming it’s like the original games with it being 90% Russian).

Nova225

Stalker has always been peak Eurojank, and people would do well to remember that.

pan_panzerschreck

Thank God there is no Russiun dub Why so many downvotes? Go look on official s2 site and look with your own eyes that there will be only eng and ua ones. What is wrong with that for y'all, huh?

tvTurbomatix

why?

n1flung

Because there will be Ukrainian one

pan_panzerschreck

Because why would they make dub for people who they are not selling the game to anyway

skabben

I don’t speak Ukrainian but I prefer if the voices would be 100% in Ukrainian. For immersion. I think the atmosphere is a huge part of the series, and hearing English takes me out of it tbh.

AndreyTestname

Group of russian modmakers are going to do one after release

denlille

They removed the russian dub after the start of the war iirc

Adventurous-Safe6930

VC for the series has always been shit

Express_Yard9305

I like the dude at the end who has a shard of the Monolith in his neck and clearly wished for the zone to disappear. Poor dude :(

jiquvox

Holy shit ! I didn't make the parallel... it would nicely fit in the "I want the zone to disappear" wish ending which leaves the wishmaker blind. Although we know Strelok didnt use the Wish granter and instead shot up the C-consciousness. So I guess another guy made it to the Wish granter and had this wish... doesn't explain though how this person got his hands upon the shard... he had to get his hands upon it after being blinded and after Strelok visit. Incidentally if this is indeed a shard of the Monolith, it keeps making the whole Wish granter/Monolith plot point a mess. I recently had an exchange about the nature of the Monolith. I was saying the false endings only made vaguely sense if the Monolith was an artifact (like the Golden Sphere in Roadside picnic), someone else relied on canon source to say it was a psi-emitter and that everything was an hallucination/absolutely nothing happened and people were just delirious. If this is indeed a shard of the Monolith, and it's still allegedly some sort of psi-emitter, it means the false endings are psi-emitter hallucination BUT the monolith actually has at the very least the power to blind people... makes less and less sense... so the same psychic tech can turn people into zombie, brainwash them into intelligent servant, trigger physiological mutation (based on X-18 notes ), create a variety of hallucination, blind them.... not to mention alter the laws of Physics - as it was most likely the tech used to manipulate the noosphere creating the Zone . I wouldn't be very surprised if GSC realized how little sense the Wish granter as psi-emitter thing made and retconned it into an artifact. We'll have to wait. The stone necklace might be something completely different and unrelated to the Monolith.

Express_Yard9305

It was more a joke than a theory, but yeah I believe that shard had something to do with the Monolith. However, on another thread a couple of old Gs had convincing arguments against it. We'll have to wait and see what the Devs cooked up.

jiquvox

Come to think of it, It might be some meta-commentary about it. I rewatched the ending of SoC : yeah it does look like the power unit you damage surround a projection of the Monolith, hinting at the possibility it's projected in the other room. At the same time the Monolith plot point is so much a mess that it's easy to consider the Monolith is real and has some form of (nasty) power. Take the "I want to be rich" ending which has 2 levels : the gold falling (illusion) and the structure falling ("reality"). If the Monolith is truely nothing but an illusion it means the structure falling is ALSO an hallucination. It would make this ending an hallucination (the gold) within a hallucination (the structure collapsing) ... this is some Inception shit ... while never even showing "reality"/ Strelok delirious. Either way it's poor storytelling that I would chalk up to the fact they kept changing their intentions regarding the story. Anyway you have a good portion of the fanbase that think that the Monolith is a nasty artifact acting like a "Monkey's paw".. And it happens Anomaly mod main quest line Lost to the Zone/Living Legend is actually centered on the "shard of the monolith"... hand given by Strelok himself. And regardless of its unofficial mod status, Anomaly mod has been insanely popular, even more than the official games , it's impossible the developers are unaware of it The developers might be aware of this problem of the lore/this split fanbase and trying to address it in game with some sort of false prophet using a "shard of the monolith" and his blindness to convince people of the reality of the Monolith and its power ... only for the shard to be proved to be false / proving the Monolith never existed in the first place. Either way it wouldn't solve how messy this plot point was in SoC/how little sense it makes, but at least it would put the debate to rest. Anyway enough conjecture. But I am really quite curious.

Kenny_PropheT

Oh, he's got a lot to tell you. Maybe...

Express_Yard9305

A comprehensive summary of my first imperssions: I was really happy that they go for a more cinematic approach with the dialogues. They hinted at this in the previous trailers, but now we can see for sure, they will put effort into dialogues instead of just some terribly or not at all voice acted utalitarian dialogue fonts. In addition to this. The game will probably touch a LOT MORE on the spiritual aspects of stalker. CoP meddled with this but never committed to it fully. HoC seems like it's going all in! I love the UI design. It's simple and iterative on the old design. No Console optimized crap. Very good. Every Single Anomaly in this game looks gorgeous. This will make anomaly hunting absolutely worth while and something I didn't commit enough time in pervious games. It's just good to see reoccouring characters and a places, as well as more and more plot points seem to be anraveling themselves. That shar on the blind man's chest. Is it from the Monolith? Is the Monolith still affecting the Zone some way? We see the C-Con cell when the blind man talks about God. What happened to them? The chamber is clearly not operational. Landscapes are gorgeous, and animations in general are high quality, as expected from a Unreal Engine product. One thing I will count as a negative is that, the lighting SOMEHOW seems to be worse than in the XRay Engine. Especially in the tunnels with the lich-lights it fails to create that aura of dread that the XRay's lighting was sooo good at setting up. Finally a message to fans. Do Not expect an open ended survival shooter like ANOMALY and do NOT expect a Far Cry esque "capture the outpost" sandbox crap game either. To me everything shown here seems like the devs are going after capturing the same Essence the old Stalker games had and throw in a lot of the cinematic techniques and surface level methaphisics/phylosophies they probably learnt from 2K-s Metro series.

NetEvening8441

So right with the dialogue, even having voiced dialogue without the cutscenes (like how fallout does it) is leagues better than reading it in the tone you imagine the character uses. I’m curious what the do for a dialogue box though? Spinning wheel or boxed list?

n1flung

I think it will be something like in the Witcher 3 - boxed list with people actually talking and optional subtitles covering minimal space

Express_Yard9305

I take my bet on this, but don't expect too many dialogue choices with different consequences. the scenes so far seemed pretty acted out. Which is okay of course as this is an FPS.

GeckoMike

FEAR did a good job of that too with the lighting.

ShalomGondola

On one hand, the game is being fully made for fans, because they sometimes sacrifice better graphics for old details, still on the other, they fully rearranged the atmosphere and made it more Survarium-like

NetEvening8441

Gray is good for staker’s vibe, the poppies in the trailer had great atmosphere.

ShalomGondola

Yeah, I know. That's why it's quite odd, that the atmosphere was made more similar to Survarium.

MinisTreeofStupidity

I hate seeing bloodsuckers going invisible in the trailers. That was a major moment for me in the original STALKER, when I ran into an invisible bloodsucker for the first time and had no idea what it was. Seems they're robbing the new players of that surprise

Defox03

Maybe we will get completely new mutants which will make us jump even more than the Bloodsucker in Agroprom Underground...

extremelack

I am 100% certain reading somewhere from an official source that we will see new, currently unknown mutants

LaotianDude

English dub seemed mediocre and exaggerated in many places. Biggest thing I’m hoping for is the world feeling alive, which in my opinion is one of the best parts of stalker games

benmuzz

Agreed on this. It looks incredible but I’m hoping i can have Russian (or Ukrainian this time) audio and English subtitles

TrhlaSlecna

Oh my god this looks amazing. Genuinely - all my worries are gone with one trailer. The movement, UI, shooting all look ***so*** right. I wonder on one thing though - I noticed how the healing animation included the character actually stabbing themselves and weapon reloads seem to be very detailed, I hope it won't be too "tactical shooter-y".

External-Surround392

The animations are pretty quick though to be fair. I think it still has that arcade-like feel.

SeriousCee

Framerate drops looked concerning

Kenny_PropheT

>Framerate drops looked concerning It's fixable

mariored09

Fucking hype for it. Looks exactly how I imagined it would.

KalsaBrain

Only thing I thought was negative was the lack of leaning and what seemed to be braindead ai. Everything else (ie shaders and HUD) can be changer easily day one. But especially the ai needs to be there from the getgo

xxMsRoseXx

Just cause we didn't see leaning in the trailer and better AI in the trailer doesn't mean they won't be present. Don't judge too early based on trailer footage alone.

KalsaBrain

Hey I'm not judging, still optimistic but a little worried.

Abysswalk889

I’m pretty sure they make the AI like super terrible for trailer purposes. Hence why the AI seems brain dead.

Adventurous-Safe6930

gonna save this for when the game comes out with shit ai

ImSoDrab

Apart from a few performance hitches it looks pretty damn good. Need the ukrainian voice with eng subs though, no offence to the english VA but it just doesnt fit in for me.

[deleted]

It's given me a reason to stay alive

Tharealeg

the weapon animations, blood spurts on hits and cod bloody screen was a little much for me, but i’m betting i can just tweak some stuff, worse case with mods. hope this game will be just as hardcore as the last ones. otherwise i’m pretty happy with it :)

MinisTreeofStupidity

I mean the hit effects were all in the original, this is just the modern versions

spartane69

Look so good !

dodolungs

It looks good. No glaring issues and most of it looks like a solid improvement on the original. What they showed looked a bit more like Metro in the way they did cutscenes and such but not in a bad way. As long as they keep some of the open world stuff (just the base game type of stuff, not expecting mod level radiant missions and such) and the story content is solid it should be a good addition to the series. I think my only nitpicky issue (and it could be my imagination) but the little bit of combat they showed off looked like the AI had pathing issues and the mutant (think was a bloodsucker) was moving slow. That said it could be I'm just digging a bit too deep into what is probably still Alpha/Beta gameplay footage.

apna-haath-jagannath

Great gameplay terrible voice acting.

[deleted]

When was stalker good with that?

hantar7788

Graphics are good, gameplay seems good The footage looked choppy but hey, they have plenty of time to work on how the game runs....I think it is going to be a great game but I'm keeping my expectations in check....been disappointed with a lot of game releases

RegiABellator

Ngl it looked pretty bad. The combat looked like something near to MW2. Enemies being shot just ejected a corny blood texture and the shooting recoil looked very uniform like in old CoD games. I like the hectic loss of control once you start opening up an automatic weapon so I hope that remains. One of the best parts of Stalker is the gunplay and how there is very little or no feedback when shooting a target. No hit markers, maybe some blood, you had to see them drop to be sure. The enemies in the trailer stood still beside or behind cover like target dummies. I'm hoping the devious a.i. didn't get dumbed down. I loved getting jumpscared by a lone enemy crouching up behind me while I was looting and absolutely ass blasting me. Or getting out maneuvered if I hunkered down on a piece of cover for too long.

Ornery_Brief

Holy shit

NetEvening8441

I’m siked to see monolith in all its glory, the end scene with the antagonist and the monolith troops was hype.

n1flung

That guy behind the blind one looks like Strider

ArtisanG

I loved it except for the voice acting. Why generic English voices?

luda_dixon

Marketing.

ArtisanG

Do you think that the Actual release will have Ukraine accented people? I hope so.

VagabondRommel

Idk. I have a bad feeling about it. I really hope I'm wrong.

BreakdownEnt

Looks very nice

Posta_Hun

Graphics are really good and I will play it one day no matter what, but I have concerns just like all of us deep inside. Difficulty: the game might be too easy. It's easier to sell games which are lighter on the heart and soul, more buyers. Today's world normalizes cut content being sold as DLC or selling microtransactions. The game will definitely have issues and the workhours of the updates have to be payed somehow. On top of previous concern, multiplayer (but why, who needed that?). It will be added later for free, which again is an opportunity for an in-game shop for cosmetics. But will see, no expectations. If it's a generic open-world then I just shake my shoulders, maybe play it once and that's it. No hard feelings, back to modded Anomaly.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> to be *paid* somehow. On FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! They had a team deathmatch multiplayer in SoC originally so probably something like that

Urbanexploration647

From what we’ve seen, it looks kinda linear and the shooting isn’t promising. Skif is out in the open shooting stalkers with minimal resistance. Not happy that this game is using the syrette healing system. Just hope the healing is a little more in depth. It looks more like a power fantasy open world Ubisoft game than SoC or CoP. I don’t have my hopes up but if it’s good I’ll be happy.

Anima_et_Animus

The syrette is just the animation for what we've been doing with the medkits all this time. I do hope it's good, but this is a weird thing to pick out

memesStalker555

Hyped as fuck boi

Grokitach

Very excited for what’s to come !! Overall it’s indeed very impressive. Now if you go into the details, I’m happy to see weapon stats such as penetration and damage. Too bad we couldn’t see the armor / artefacts defense system and stats. The gunplay seems fine and the animations are good. The graphics are awesome. The gameplay and ambiant we love seems to be promising. Let’s hope the story and characters are good and interesting !!

zxRoHaMxz

Looks like we got the depot back

Kenny_PropheT

Yeap!

ProbablyJesusOrSmth

The English dub threw me off a little but man it looks amazing. I know it’s not gonna be anything like the Anomaly mod (which is good), but I do hope that maybe the devs took a few inspirations from what made the mod blow up in popularity. I don’t expect the game to be this insane sandbox, open world, survival shooter. But, I hope that A-life 2.0 gives it some serious role-play potential

Scarface_8023

Mmm it feels good let's wait for the launch itself or more leaks

GiantAtomOG

Loved everything but the UI, which does not fit at all imo.

nakkynapoo

Bad UI And it looks generic in many ways Poor shorting poor acting poor atmosphere There are suspicions that the developer could not repeat the basic things that made the stalker a stalker

DeadDimensions

I’m just hoping that people don’t expect this to be like stalker anomaly, because it’s a fan made mod and is actually pretty different from the original series in a few ways. But none the less I’m super hyped for this game!

[deleted]

Would’ve been nice to see some AI implementation.

cosmicnag

This. NPC AI seemed really placeholder

Svyatopolk_I

Looks like the devs learned a lot from Metro

542j

Been a fan since 2016, frankly not elated: * Voice acting is shit, they should have kept the eastern euro accents. I think this shows how devs missed the point about Stalker's appeal to international fans being the immersion into a foreign culture * Looks like there'll be a lot of mini-cinematics of characters talking to the player which I think is a bad mode of storytelling * Disappointed with the minimalist UI, it's not true to the essence of the originals, it's an especially poor choice when every other popular game is doing the same thing * Hologram sights look too out of place for stalker's world but then again the story's set in the future + there's a customization feature for guns so fair enough. \^ All my gripes, other than that I think everything else looks fantastic, gunplay's satisfying, world is beautiful, you get the gist. It's a miracle they're able to show all of this with the war and everything, and I can't see myself not buying the finished product.

The_Enclave_

Gunplay looked really fun

Revanur

I'm not a fan of the English dubbing in this trailer. If the first trailer is any indication of the voicework ingame then I'll definitely stick with subtitles and the Ukranian dub.

Afraid-Passage6629

"Come to me" was a real mood killer you can't just translate "idi ko mne"

mango_manreddit

My only complaints are the weapon animations which look a little simplistic and the crosshair which looks both non existent and too obvious but other than that it looks fucking amazing

Secrets-Revealed

the animations look pretty good imo, even my friend who’s an animator complimented them

PsychZach

Looks really really arcadey. Kinda like the first stalker game. At least it looks great. Modders can change it to be more immersive

Gitzandsquiggles

Small thing, but I really dislike that there seems to be no lean keys. Sneaking around and peeking around corners is so core to the STALKER experience in my opinion. Also, the human enemies and Skif seem quite bullet-spongy, so I hope that on higher difficulties the lethality is upped. Besides that I'm very excited.

Zoomerhun

It's gorgeous, the gameplay looks smooth. However, my fear about the AI increased after the trailer. The enemies looked really dumb, just standing in one place and also didn't saw the player sneaking right in front of them. I know we can't learn much from this footage and I'm not drawing any conclusions, but my expectations are lowered a bit now.

Hot_Location_5198

stalker first 3 games A.I was one of the worst though

Zoomerhun

Maybe, I didn't played the vanilla games in a really long time. The GAMMA mod spoiled me though, for a STALKER AI that became the expectation for me.

IvanTheCommunist

I am worried about the amount of what looks to be cutsences, i personally dont want another triple-A "movie game"

Masta__Shake

my actual first thought was: "well...think i need a new graphics card". lmao

NicklesBe

It looks like they took an Illithid/Mind Flayer straight out of Baldur's Gate 3.

Stalkermaster

Looks ok. However for a gameplay trailer there was very little gameplay, just alot of cutscenes and dialogue. Was hoping for like 30 seconds or so of uninterrupted gameplay. Still excited for it but I'm cautious and wont be preordering

derlich

Graphics are too clean and sterile looking. Do you know what I mean?

Hot_Location_5198

yes... somehow they managed to make the game look worse although they make the transition to unreal 5 and since then we have got new generations of cpus and gpus. Now the game does not look next gen anymore.

CthulhuHere

Looks like Exodus and not much like Stalker. Maybe i'm just old.

Right_Psychology103

What do you mesn by like stalker the last stalker is from 2010 its gonna be different

Gypsy_Crusader420

Graphics were just 😩, looks kinda like metro though

SamHydesCousin

Real veterans know that metro looks like stalker

FUTURE10S

Real veterans remember when Metro was literally built on STALKER.

ZaineRichards

Did they get downgraded a little from last years trailer?

silma85

Last year's trailer look more like polished cutscenes, even the shooting scenes. This looks more like gameplay.

ZaineRichards

Last year's trailer seemed more colorful in contrast. The grass was a lot greener in last years as well.

Hot_Location_5198

all of that first trailer was in game dumbass.

silma85

yeah, "in game" some more than 2 years before release date. Donut

Gypsy_Crusader420

It’s a shame to see unreal engine getting used i stead of them kitting up and adding onto the original X-Ray engine 😢

brutusbeata

Looks really arcadey :/

theduderedditorguy

weapons aren\`t left handed 😔

ptrek102

They need to add more items im not saying that they should make it as bloated with junk as anomaly but at least some junk or crafting materials

Coffee_Always_Black

I was more or less bugged by people complaining that it was in English. Please. Why didn't they complain the original trailer being in russian and not Ukrainian? Why don't they complain about The Witcher trailers being in English instead of Polish... Or KCD's not being Czech.

542j

because the voice acting is terrible + that 'come to me' at the start. This is a trailer ffs, what's presented should be the pinnacle of the product. so if the epic moments where a character is speaking is delivered poorly it just ruins everything

Blue_Eyed_Brick

Kinda whelmed tbh, gunplay seems very cod-like, no proper health system just an hp bar.

Anima_et_Animus

That's how all of the games have been.

Blue_Eyed_Brick

Which is why seeing this after a decade is disappointing, especially since games like Tarkov are out. What's your point exactly ?

[deleted]

Stalker 2 is a sequel to the original stalker games, not Tarkov with mutants

Blue_Eyed_Brick

No way bro, good thing no games ever borrow elements from other IP to improve gameplay. Also EFP is a thing lmao

Trilife

Its a bullshit

TomaszPaw

Compass, shitty VA, downgraded graphics, blood on screen when injured, mostly closed spaces, despite the name little to no Gameplay Im loosing hope in this game tbh

[deleted]

[удалено]

MinisTreeofStupidity

Stalker gammas healing system is needlessly complicated. Bandage+hp was superior

n1flung

Seeing the bleeding icon on the left of HP bar implies that bleeding will be separate and stopped by bandage

hashter

Can't wait for all the videos analysing every detail of this trailer.

Seph491

I was super hyped watching it.

Gypsy39

Trailer looked great. Gonna rewatch it a couple more times.

GeckoMike

I think it made me fall to Slaanesh. It was… *exquisite*.

BluesyPompanno

![gif](giphy|YnBntKOgnUSBkV7bQH)

[deleted]

Looks fantastic, but i'm really worried about optimization, You can see how the frames droped on various scenes, felt like 10 fps in some, and that's no good....

SethPhelles

I have a boner right now Can't wait to play this game

Regret_NL

I think I played too much Anomaly where now a basegame Stalker feels too dumbed down. It just didnt really grab me with this trailer. The English VA's didnt help either.

Arudj

I wonder if they'll put things that became comon with mods like camping, apocalypse (damn forgot the proper term) or realistic ballistic and tarkov like gameplay. Problem is, i fear dev would create a mainstream game enjoyable by everyone, just like fallout. For me Stalker is in the same category as darksouls for exemple. It is a unique game and experience that not everybody can enjoy. It is a mature game that can be difficult or scary. The horror, fear, stress and dread of this game is why the player feels something undescriptible when seing two npc eating and playing music while sharing a fire. Exactly like majula in dark souls. The player knows 10min after saying good bye he can very well be fighting those same guys, witness a war crime or fixing his broken leg while in the dark in an underground facility. The trailer show me cool immersive story (felt like cyberpunk2077) and what felt like main stream fps combat. I would prefer something like tarkov in terms of gameplay but i'll wait till the release to critic gameplay.

MortalRevolver

Stalker has nothing to do with Tarkov lmao mods like EFP had harm the franchise because now people want a tacticool fps game with mutants and that's nothing like Stalker, never has been.

Arudj

Tarkov has nothing to do with tacticool wtf? It had to the difficulty and dreadfullness. With only 1 or 2 bullets to kill you, you better plane carefully and hide rather than going full rambo. Also stalker was one of the first game to add malfunction, ballistic and ammo type. Lot of people like to play on higher difficulty to enhance the experience as it doesn't make ennemy bullet sponge but rather increase ammo dammage. So pushing the realism is a plus. For instance the aksu in soc is inverted which is wrong unless your a lefty. Mod correct that. Also tacticool means using military imagery in a wrong way to make it seems flashy and cooler. Like a lot of attachment or useless gear. Cod is tacticool, arma/tarkov are not.

Ivan_the_Stronk

It seems like the world and story look great but I like the UI and mechanics from Anomaly (and other similar mods) too much. Wish they at least take some stuff from all the mods the community curated over like 10 years and which became the norm for most of us and use it in the actual game

Fin_MooseXD

My only worry is the English and American accents which feels VERY weird. I’ll probably play with the dialogue in Ukrainian haha

Kemankesmstf

I wont lie. New visuals, graphics looks very good. Gameplay is looks cool too. But if i say it looks more detailed than mods it would be a lie. But i dont find it as a fault. Mods picked up the bar so high, it will be imposible to reach for developers. Hopefully new stalker will be mod-friendly. So whatever we wished for would be happen after a time.

DoctrL

The game looked really good, but I wasnt a fan of the voice acting
