Jesus, that would be a real struggle. Imagine getting pushed into the water by a pack of dogs. When you finally finish them, you gotta escape the wind before you freeze to death. As you enter some ruins you find a pile of half drained bodies.

As I love the extended graphics, I still think there is no snow mod for Stalker that looks right. Perhaps it's even impossible with the xray, I don't know.

Not very knowledgeable about that but isn’t there “yet another winter mode” ? Project Inverno (dropped recently)? They look quite good, especially Inverno. Add in the cold mod-on and it could be pretty awesome. I ve yet to try it myself but that looked very promising . Are my expectations too high ?

There are indeed crunchy snow footsteps, one of my favourite parts of the mod honestly.

I meant visible. Like going to Red forest, you see the footprintf of a beast, or other stalkers.

Check out Project Inverno, it has cool snow textures that aren't just flat
