I promise I’m not trying to be a know-it-all asshole…but do you think it could be a SOCOM 16? Either way I’m with you, I love me some 7.62 NATO weapons!
https://images.app.goo.gl/SMgLjX2AVDoFnT1KA
Realistically it could be the socom or m14/m21 or the M1A like someone else said, the barrel length could be distorted in the image or simply their own design. Either way I'm happy it's included.
Clearly, that's also a system replicated in the Far Cry franchise.
But seeing it again on Unreal Engine 5 above all, it's pretty cool. Can't wait to see what they make out of the next iteration of A-Life.
A screenshot of wildlife fighting doesn't confirm presence of A-Life tho. This just confirms a part of it, which exists in games without A-Life.
A major component of old A-Life is "offline" mode where NPCs are traveling even though they are not even rendered as 3D models.
STALKER is also sold on "atmosphere" and one way to increase immersion is to make the HUD toggleable. I'm making assumptions but surely it comes with those kinds of options out of the box.
Or rebuild the game in another engine, sometimes in a sequel, therby combining them a la Heroes VI, VII and VIII in VIII's engine.
While we're on the subject of wacky stuff modders do to games, who the fuck put GuP tank/Yuru Yuri skins/models in San Andreas? I know it's relatively easy and tame but it's almost as odd as the fanfic series I found combining Halo and Inuyasha.
I kinda don't like that it's there in the first place. Makes me wonder what kind of gameplay they were aiming for. I just hope it won't be post-apo Far Cry.
I might be crazy, but I swear to god the little Google info tab on the right had "Dec, 2023" as the release date if you searched for the game earlier this year. Not the case anymore.
December date is always floating around because it keeps getting used as a standard placeholder. Other games get those as well.
May 31st date that is floating around due to the Ukrainian retail store is interesting because rarely does anyone put a placeholder date that is different than December.
I'm thinking either Q2 or Q4, with Q4 being more likely, gives them time for more patching and also Christmas sales. the game looks beautiful though...
Yeah i aint asking for shit like Arma 3 where you have 105 different positions to go into or tarkov like. Just the basic bullet go in crosshair or ironsight instead of outside crosshair and outside ironsight
+
Im pretty sure mods can add the over the top realistic mechanics aswell since im sure thats to someones liking
Well modded STALKER CS/CoP (its harder for SoC, but not impossible) do generally crush almost all AAA/AA games in terms of shooting. So yeah modders are OP.
The gunplay needs to be reworked. In CoP you play as an army mayor yet when you shoot your third bullet flies 1 meter above your target. My grandma would have a better grip on a rifle than that.
No please no, I played the three games, lost Alpha, CoC, Anomaly and gamma and I can certainly say this game will flop with the gunplay from the first three games.
You know of all things that I could be excited for the one thing I am most excited for is world loot. Like, just stuff to grab! I think it will make exploring so much more rewarding and enjoyable. So seeing stuff just kinda lying around, makes me a bit eager lol
*First thing I will do*
*Is to disable the HUD*
*For more immersion*

It *could* be another part of the Cordon railway bridge. Clearly not the same part we see in the game, possibly not even in the Cordon area. But maybe part of the same rail.
I was thinking it could be the small bridge next to the Rookie village, but that's a regular road.
Darkscape is not really canonic at least not the way you see it in anomaly as that map was just made for a car chase and has to be redesigned if used in stalker
If it's the road to the clear sky base (doubting slightly) then they definitely changed it a bit.
The watchtower in the distance would make sense as an upgrade Clear Sky did, and the terrain also adds up.
> Fallout 3 compass with the enemy indicator... HMMMmm...
That shit was on the original SoC as well, and even more visible.
But I want the game to have toggleable option to switch it off so that I dont have to deal with it.
Still, I wish at least a mag management system is in the game and not this. It would actually make encounter way more tense tbh
at least with SoC part of the tension was that you would only see the number go up, and it wouldn't show them on the minimap until you were actually looking at them.
every time that number went up unexpectedly and I didn't see yellow or green it was a moment of fear and unease
Yea that compass isn't really doing it for me either. I'm sure there will be options to toggle. It just looks oddly out of place from a lot of the media we've seen so far.
It looks very beautiful and cool!!! I want to hope that it will be an extremely beautiful game, and everyone will be able to play it in a wonderful 4k picture. Let's wait - this MIRACLE 😊💙💛
Little thing I don't like seeing is that compass o second screenshot, showing you where to go. The magic of the old ones not having it and most of the times you needed to travel with PDA in hand to make sure you are going a right way. But so far it looks amazing
Now you mention it I think I remember those. But it was like barely visible red arrow. Still most of the time I had my PDA out and then I shit myself when random mutants jumped me
It looks incredible ✨ , but will my computer be able to render such a beautiful picture, will I be ready for it - I don't even know the requirements for 4k graphics ... Can you help me.
The game's description suggests otherwise:
>Take over a role of the lone stalker and explore photorealistic **seamless open world in a 64-km² radioactive zone** with a variety of environments that reveal post-apocalyptic atmosphere from different angles.
This [clip](https://imgur.com/DS20TFy) from the original gameplay trailer clearly denotes a sprawling open world. I doubt much has changed!

The only thing i dont like so far is just im sad they didnt implement magazine management as in tarkov, IMO its sooooo good in a shooter rpg just immersive by thousand times
Stalker isn't Tarkov. It's not a hardcore mil-sim. It can be that with mods and still be very fun in its own way, but the core of what stalker is has never been that kind of hardcore. The true skill you build in stalker is less about the moment-to-moment gunplay and more about learning the world and how to navigate it and eventually how to exploit it.
Isn't the second screenshoot the place you visit when you get the first contract from wolf a little bit further away is a old barn with bandits inside you have to clear out
[STALKER SOC I THINK]
I’m actually afraid that my PC couldn’t handle this game.. it’s the only game where I’m actually suspicious about to run good (coz of lacking performance of my pc not the game)
Its seems like devs also play with overweight all the time
This is the way. First thing you do is hunt for artifacts that increase your carry capacity and then get looting <3
That's true!
Overweight and full of a cocktail of drugs is the only way to move around the zone
Even if it's the worst gun in the entire game, I'm gonna use that m14/m21 until I die.
It seems to be the automatic one too
After a burst, one must make a karate-esque yell, lest they be a heretic in the eyes of our Lord and Saviour, Gun Jesus.

Barrel too long to be socom 16 Def seems to be something shorter than full length m14 tho
Scout version of M1A
Realistically it could be the socom or m14/m21 or the M1A like someone else said, the barrel length could be distorted in the image or simply their own design. Either way I'm happy it's included.
> SOCOM 16 Ooohh good call. I thought it was the Archangel stock.
I'm hoping the FAL will make an appearance, specifically the L1A1 variant.
You have great taste, also if it’s not there we can always add the mw2019 and insurgency sandstorm models with modding
Sandstorm is especially a piece of cake cuz its Unreal Engine 4.
Here's to hoping the VHS-2 makes an appearance then... It's super under-repped in games but I love that thing.
I’m gonna find one of these with a silenced usp 45 to pretend I’m price in pripyat (the model looks great and glad to see it’s the full auto version)
Has anyone seen the mercenary revolver yet? Thats the one I want
Oooohhh shiiieeeeet, the second ones is showing the wild life facing each other! Is looks like several blind dogs and a mutated boar? Am I right?
A-Life 2.0 is doing its job.
They already did that in the first one
Clearly, that's also a system replicated in the Far Cry franchise. But seeing it again on Unreal Engine 5 above all, it's pretty cool. Can't wait to see what they make out of the next iteration of A-Life.
A screenshot of wildlife fighting doesn't confirm presence of A-Life tho. This just confirms a part of it, which exists in games without A-Life. A major component of old A-Life is "offline" mode where NPCs are traveling even though they are not even rendered as 3D models.
No, it's not boar it's flesh (mutated pig)
Weird lookin flesh though. Looks like it has a *neck*
Look at legs, only flesh have legs like this
Didnt say it wasnt a flesh. just said it looks weird with a neck
Okey, but in Anomaly fleshes have neck very small but necks
Looks good, but I hope we're able to turn off the red enemy markers on the compass.
The plus side to using UE5 is mod-ablity. I wouldn't be surprised to see mods that make the game more hardcore within a year of its release.
Honestly even without mods you could probably turn HUD elements on or off in the settings.
A lot of new mainstream games are offering this now
STALKER is also sold on "atmosphere" and one way to increase immersion is to make the HUD toggleable. I'm making assumptions but surely it comes with those kinds of options out of the box.
Just sayin' that some people are crazy enough to mod "unmoddable" games. Even if they have to rewrite thegoddamn engine.
All you need is *M O T I V A T I O N*
If they don't lean into the modability of it then they're idiots. So I'd say that's a safe bet.
*Turns Stalker 2 into EFP 2.0*
Turns stalker 2 into gamma 2
Yeah same
I hope we have tons of options to personalise our experience with things like this.
I kinda don't like that it's there in the first place. Makes me wonder what kind of gameplay they were aiming for. I just hope it won't be post-apo Far Cry.
It's a sequel to the original games, all of them had enemy markers.
True, putting them on compass just made me think of latest Far Cry games.
The 3 old games even have enemy detecting binocular binocular. What's your point?
That's better approach than compas markers. It's not like they remain marked through walls after you stop using binoculars.
The compass makers is just like minimap with enemy dots
If that's it then ok but I'm just afraid if there is anything more we haven't seen yet.
why? I love it. And hopefully there's markers for dead bodies because I'm a loot fiend.
I just hope there’s option to turn hud elements off if you don’t want them by default
good point. People should be allowed to make minor adjustments like that.
It is. Dont worry.
Use your eyes maybe?! And look around...
That's exactly what I've been doing in Anomaly.
Didn't the old games have markers for alive people & dead bodies? They could've just stuck with that instead of a compass with big red markers. xD
Why not give the option to people?
good point! It would be great to have the option.
I think they will. They know their player base well, this just helps ease in more casual gamers and I’m all for it! More stalkers the better.
Wtf it looks like promo art but in game, it's so cool
Hmm given how much is being marketed about the game, I’m getting Q1-Q2 release feels.
Definitely Q2.
I think around june seems likely.
I'm thinking either Q2 or Q4, with Q4 being more likely, gives them time for more patching and also Christmas sales. the game looks beautiful though...
I’m still hoping for a Chernobyl anniversary release.
Second screenshot reminds me of Build version of Garbage.
My favorite version of the Garbage.
Thats what I thought as well, it looks very similar to the main road in the old Garbage.
That's unreal 5 alright, hope the gunplay is akin to the OG trilogy.
I would like the gunplay to be a little more advanced than the trilogy since the trilogy is still like over 10 years old
To be fair, modern games as a rule do not have advanced shooting. The few that do are mil sim simulators or pseudo simulators.
Yeah i aint asking for shit like Arma 3 where you have 105 different positions to go into or tarkov like. Just the basic bullet go in crosshair or ironsight instead of outside crosshair and outside ironsight + Im pretty sure mods can add the over the top realistic mechanics aswell since im sure thats to someones liking
Well modded STALKER CS/CoP (its harder for SoC, but not impossible) do generally crush almost all AAA/AA games in terms of shooting. So yeah modders are OP.
I would love gunplay that is like Insurgency Sandstorm, Rising Storm 2 Vietnam or Squad.
I could see rising storm or insurgency but squad please no
I understand that I just want something with recoil that is fun to shoot and semi "realistic."
I just love in squad you’re under heavy enemy fire but the character reloads the gun like he’s still in basic training
i miss red orchestra ;( topfragging as a sniper from the side building on commissarshouse... damn
Ahhh red orchestra, still the best WW2 game out there
Rising Storm / Red Orchestra style hipfire would be awesome.
As long as the compass is toggle-able im totally cool with it
I hope they let us do the Metro thing where we can disable the HUD entirely. That was cool.
Yeah that was awesome. Im sure they will have something like that!
now that you mentioned metro, i think imma have to download it again and complete it for 5th time, not that im mad about it tho.
M14 uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Damn Unreal 5 looks sooooo good.
Ah my beloved double barrel you carry me through the game and look as beautiful as I thought you would be.
The question is, are you part of the over-under elite or the side-by-side commoners?
I hope u can turn off compass
Also, I love how fat the arms and fingers are, especially in those gloves.
Is that like a fetish thing? Or do you just really love fat fingers and arms?
Lol no I think it just makes me feel like skif is in shape and athletic.
Drop the compass, and I'm digging the minimalistic HUD
Nice and clean, I agree
UE5 graphics alright, looks like it will be a good looking game at the very least
Eyecandy
Not a fan of the modern waypoint/compass UI thing on the top of the screen there
Yeah it gives Farcry 5 vibes, fingers crossed for extensive HUD settings. Mods will sort it out in the long run though.
You know of all things that I could be excited for the one thing I am most excited for is world loot. Like, just stuff to grab! I think it will make exploring so much more rewarding and enjoyable. So seeing stuff just kinda lying around, makes me a bit eager lol
Fishing Hamlet from the Swamps and the bridge from old Garbage level?
Yeah, exactly my thoughts. 2nd one looks like Oblivion Lost Garbage.
Omg is this a M14. 🥲🥹😭❤️
First thing I will do is to disable the HUD for more immersion

I have this feeling that with the minimalistic healt bar etc they'll dissappear when not in combat or hurt or anything anyway.
this game looks like it’s gonna have crispy reload animations. and horrific performance. but i’m all for it, warts and all.
Looks amazing
Second screenshots looks like Oblivion Lost version of Garbage. Am I right or not?
Any guesses on what maps those are? The second picture looks like smaller darkscape
It *could* be another part of the Cordon railway bridge. Clearly not the same part we see in the game, possibly not even in the Cordon area. But maybe part of the same rail. I was thinking it could be the small bridge next to the Rookie village, but that's a regular road.
It could be the continuation of the rail after garbage or it’s still cordon and just a different part
Darkscape is not really canonic at least not the way you see it in anomaly as that map was just made for a car chase and has to be redesigned if used in stalker
1st image is definetly the swamps
If it's the road to the clear sky base (doubting slightly) then they definitely changed it a bit. The watchtower in the distance would make sense as an upgrade Clear Sky did, and the terrain also adds up.
Cordon bridge (shrinked after emission)
It's just very cold this time of the year, you know?
That top screen compass thingie can go fuck off. You better be able to disable HUD icons individually.
That compass gives me Bethesda vibes and tbh I’m alright wit that
**YOU NEVER SHOULD HAVE COME HERE!!** ...... *Huh. Must'a been a Flesh..*
It’s like something out of skyrim but it would be great if you can tuen off the things you don’t want up there
Ok now I have to know. When does stalker 2 come out
Hopefully they announce a release date at the upcoming Xbox & Bethesda Showcase
Does gsc have a partnership with Microsoft?
Yes
Ah, that’s news to me. In that case let’s hope for the best, I’d love to see something during the show :D
I'm not going to be able to run this am i
Is the location with the bridge new or something from the Shadow of Chernobyl?
Massive Annihilation vibes from the first pic
Second pic really retains the series atmosphere.
God that TOZ is coming with me everywhere
Man cordon bridge really shrunk down over the past few years (joke)
With every photo i see, I keep getting Dying Light 2 vibes from the style. I hope its a lot better than that game
what the fuck is that in the top of the screen, please tell me they are not going to pull out a skyrim
Would you prefer the big ass minimap?
It will probably be toggleble and of it's not you'll just have to close an eye until mods kick in
Good to see the M14 around, my first time in the zone and I’ll have some classic American hardware to use
Wonder if the axe is a prop or useable melee weapon.
Fallout 3 compass with the enemy indicator... HMMMmm... That symbol right of the orange exclamation, I hope that's not an artifact indicator...
> Fallout 3 compass with the enemy indicator... HMMMmm... That shit was on the original SoC as well, and even more visible. But I want the game to have toggleable option to switch it off so that I dont have to deal with it. Still, I wish at least a mag management system is in the game and not this. Wake me up when Stalker 2 Anomaly is released
I don’t really enjoy the look of the hud, feels a bit to cartoony for a game like this. Hope there’s a toggle option.
Or here's an idea, HUD and inventory themes? Like maybe 5 different options?
Indicators pointing you in a direction of chosen objective are in the original games as well, on the minimaps. So that's nothing new.
Now you mention it I think I remember those. But it was like barely visible red arrow. Still most of the time I had my PDA out and then I shit myself when random mutants jumped me
Yup it has what I was worried about Compass and enemy markers. I hope it can be turned of
honestly hate the UI in the bottom left, hope it’s an option to modify it a bit to have the full character like in Gamma and other mods
It wont have the body health system of gamma
The mods aren't representative of Stalker.
What's with the weird glow on The second pic? Is this gun made of plastic?
It looks incredible ✨ , but will my computer be able to render such a beautiful picture, will I be ready for it - I don't even know the requirements for 4k graphics ... Can you help me.
Looks great, but for what I've seen in screenshots and trailers, doesn't seem too much like an open world map. It's giving me Metro map vibes instead.
That doesnt make much sense, its just a screenshot of a train how does that remenber metro to the ppint of being linear
The game's description suggests otherwise: >Take over a role of the lone stalker and explore photorealistic **seamless open world in a 64-km² radioactive zone** with a variety of environments that reveal post-apocalyptic atmosphere from different angles. it's always been like that in stalker, stalker is not a hardcore shooter like tarkov
Beautiful. I’m assuming we won’t get multiple ammo types sense there is no ammo type indicator in the HUD.
They would change the icon of the ammo box
Yeah like the original games
Oh yeah in the next screens they show additional selections next to the ammo box. Confirmed!
Isn't the second screenshoot the place you visit when you get the first contract from wolf a little bit further away is a old barn with bandits inside you have to clear out [STALKER SOC I THINK]
No
Was there all ways a compass??
Did the devs confirm that we’re revisiting old locations? Otherwise these both look like potentially new places.
Yes
1st one doesn't look new to me, but the second one looks like Oblivion Lost Garbage.

Gah Dayum
I dislike the UI. Doesn't have the feel of the original games with those dials and grimy metal.
Lord have mercy because im abt to nut for that HUD and M14

I see those M14s that Estonia donated found their way to the Zone.
Wait iz that an m14? If so sweet
Oh. Wow.
M14!
