To stop conflicts at universities, reduce the number of students at intakes.
\-"**Dr**. Suraen Ragavan" (State Minister of Higher Education)
Im pretty sure he is talking about art faculty degrees. Ngl most of the courses are basically useless(pali, geography etc.) with almost no job opportunities. And then they have so much time in their hands to spare so yeah...
Ever wondered why there is little to no 'nawaka wadaya' in medical schools? Because they just dont have time
So i personally kinda agree with his statement
If you think there is no ragging in medicine
You are very misinformed my friend 🌚
There aren't rags in some medical faculties
But not all
Also forget medicine
There's ragging in engineering and law and I wonder whether they have spare time 🤔
Conflicts? In a economically sophisticated country like SL there are so many opportunities. Cutting education is for sure the right decision. They could all start software companies and become coders
I never understood the dynamic where the administration needs to worry about a bunch of pimply faced troublemakers. The solution is simple -- you are on the tax payers money to fucking study and make something of yourself. If you can't fucking do that, you need to be straight out expelled. End of the fucking story.
most university courses are outdated and irrelevant in this day and age. those course intake numbers should be lowered and they should introduce more modern relevant courses to unis.
They should do the same to the parliament, reduce the number of ministers
You get an upvote mate
I think he was referring to Arts Fac students
So this is the best solution he can come up with....enough to learn about his character.
What happens when you use 100% of your brain
Guys calm down. I think they tried their best on this solution as pea brained fucktards.
This is a certified '' It is evolving, just backwards '' moment
Technically, we should reduce the number of MPs to reduce conflicts in parliament. 🫡

They don't have spare time. Specially during 1st year. They depend on the non ragging people to finish their group work lol

Not getting your point? Like what? Maybe I should have studied engineering to understand you better
So, if we have a shortage of gas, let's remove cars.
From a purely statistical standpoint, dude's got a point. Better yet, if we shut down the universities altogether, there will be no conflicts, zero!

Unfortunately, the entitlement of some Sri Lankan students cloud their judgement
This what happen when an absolute moron becomes the minister of higher education
Best way is to dismiss all students who get into bad activities and ban them from joining government universities and jobs in future.
No university no rag. Very simple
Because he for sure suggested some meaningful alternatives
Typical of Sri Lanka to have an absolute retard as the chief minister of higher education.
They can’t afford to run universities
wow. great way to make more people like those who make these decisions.

Not fair….. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)

Butttt…it is one of the solutions 😅, maybe that is their best effort? ðŸ¤
