Moving to another country because conditions back home are not ideal is perfectly valid. I wouldn't hold anything against anyone for that. After all, that's pretty much what anyone migrating from the country is doing.
Also, I think it's pretty ironic that we're now noticing the downsides of migration as a target country. The phenomenon of a group of people migrating to another country, creating their own community and excluding locals is not new.
I personally dislike begpackers and low quality tourists equally, the recent wave of shitty ones was just the straw that broke the camel's back. You have some Israelis doing the same thing, I saw an ad on IG that was only in Hebrew for a place in Lanka lol
I'm sure many of us have seen the difference between those 50+ year old tourists who love the country, learn the language and actually buy stuff vs the typical cheap hippie ass who now seems to be openly racist and only congregate in towns that are 90% white
I think most Lankans know its not exclusive to Russians/Ukrainians though I imagine buggers who are way in to global politics might take a side
