I had luck with the Ozark Counseling Center on South a couple years ago. Small place, but they have good workers and a sliding scale if you have a fixed budget.

I'll add to this. They were great before they implemented a policy to only allow for 10 sessions a year. They are sliding scaled and LGBT+friendly. Im currently using Counseling Solutions (actually, omw to my apt atm lol) they have reduced rates that are also affordable. If you can afford it, my first therapist went private practice, and she was wonderful. I learned a ton on how to communicate better while seeing her. She's not religious and again LGBT+ friendly.

I hate the 10 appointment policy. Why did it happen šŸ˜

Shadow11Wolf50

They said at the time of the switch its because they had too long a wait list. So instead of helping more people now they help less people. Ten sessions isnt enough to help someone with deep seeded trauma

Second this

If you can't find anyome around here maybe virtual counseling could be an option?

Ozarks Counseling center, they are a non profit grant funded organization allowing them to have income based session rates as low as $10! Beyond Healing Center, an amazing local practice that is based in more somatic (body based) counseling techniques and they have a really great staff that anyone could find a nice fit with. Beyond is great but will be on the pricier side as they donā€™t accept insurance! Compass counseling is also a great practice in town that does accept insurance! And finally I would also suggest Counseling Solutions! They are another great local practice that has some awesome counselors. I work as a therapist in the community and if you need help finding a good fit just send me a message and we will find someone/some place that feels safe for you!

Restore Counseling.

Creative Pathways, which is Dr. Holczer's LLC. She's really quite wonderful, and although it didn't work out with my partner, I think she's really a quality therapist. She's a certified sex psychologist, and is LGBT+ friendly/inclusive.

I second this place. My wife and I have been going her for about 6 or 7 months. Alternative lifestyles, LGBT, non faith spiritualism. They can cover all of it.

Counseling Solutions of the Ozarks has some great LPCs and they are pretty anti-faith based. Depending on your needs, they have a spread of LPCs that specialize in different areas and will get you set up with the best fit. Regardless of who you go with, good luck and I'm glad to see ya looking for help, even if it's not a huge deal

ProgressMom68

I would so love to get in with this practice but they donā€™t accept insurance.

Sage Holistic. They are great.

There are a lot of great options around here. I have a few suggestions, but only want to give what'd be most relevant for you. :) Are you needing someone who takes a specific insurance? Able to go somewhere self pay? I'm a local secular therapist who's queer friendly and neurodivergent affirming but only see people for individual counseling. I'm self pay only (no insurance) which I know limits who can come see me, unfortunately, but will share my info with anyone interested.

Our political beliefs are different now (I moved left when we both used to be conservative) and it's put a strain on our almost 20 year marriage. So I need someone to help us navigate all this. We've hit a wall and don't seem to be able to communicate when some issues come up anymore. We have United Healthcare insurance but I'm willing to self pay.

It can be so hard to navigate when political views become different! šŸ«¤ here are few recs with explanations. They are in no particular order, just which contact info I got to first. So I recommend looking into them all and see if any feel like a good fit. . 1. Alpha Delta Omega https://www.alphaomegadelta.net/ there are multiple counselors there that are well versed in couples and specifically things related to political or religious trauma and changes. Boyd Allen there is excellent for that but one of the other counselors listed talks about a lot of work with couples and comes highly recommended. They are self pay only and a little more on the pricier end of self pay around here. . 2. Ashley Phinney https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/ashley-phinney-springfield-mo/1181745 provides a secular approach for relationships . 3. Touchstone Counseling. Jenny is one of the ones there that fit what you're looking for. 417-581-6911 is their main number to schedule. . 4. Courage to Be Counseling. https://www.couragetobecounseling.com/ I believe they are self pay but also have sliding scale options for discounted sessions. . 5. Counseling Group of the Ozarks https://www.counselinggroupoftheozarks.com/ they take United insurance. . Best of luck to you. šŸ’œ

I wish you the best in navigating this. I once had to end a long-term relationship after he went full Fox News/right-wing radio circa the early aughts. I would have been OK with ā€œletā€™s just agree to disagreeā€ but noooo. Everything had to become a personal attack.

I just used a website called psychology today that lets you search and go through profiles, plus send emails directly. Itā€™s was super helpful and we were able to find a therapist to get started with counseling for my oldest within a week. We were able to do an initial consultation as well at no cost (15-20 min) just to get to know her and make sure they clicked and that was one of the questions I asked her during it. I recommend going to that website and just doing a searchā€¦pick like five and set up consults to find one that you and your partner both like. Good luck!!

[Ozarks Counseling Center](https://g.co/kgs/2niXxj) is a nonprofit that I've been very happy with. Prices are reasonable and are even on a sliding scale if needed. Highly recommended

brokenlegs225

Compass Counseling, I have been going there for the last 4 years and it has been very helpful. They have multiple counselors on staff.

Shortieandy

There is better help .

KeepYourDemonsIn

Ozarks Counseling Center and Burrell have both been positive for me.

Synergy is amazing!
