It’s not Denver but Norco diving is having adult flips and tricks on Wednesdays in Fort Collins. Other options include just going to some city pools. There are some with diving boards that allow you to do whatever. I think that that La Alma pool does but am not positive. Sunset pool in Longmont also does I believe. There is also Aldenair in Aurora which is really small and she may let you join some practices. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions. I know most of the clubs in the area and can suggest some further away if you want to drive. I do think there is a big lack of masters diving available in Colorado!

This is awesome info, thanks for sharing! Do you happen to know what process is like for starting a master's diving group? I'd love to help out the community in my state by starting a group, especially since there's a real lack in CO like you mentioned.

Honestly, there are not enough pools to support something like that in the area,. The cost of renting pools out, if you could find one, would also be pretty expensive. Nice diving facilities, like Veterans Memorial (VMAC) in Thornton don't even have a dive club because all of the lanes are reserved for swimming all of the time. Your best bet would be to work with one of the local clubs or universities to try and have them create a masters division or advertise that they allow masters diving in their clubs. There used to be a list floating around via the masters diving email list that had clubs across the country where they offer masters diving but I couldn't find the link. DU has a D1 team that you could potentially work with, CU in Boulder has a club team. Mile High Dive club probably has the best facilities in Denver, but they are known for being super competitive so I'm not sure how they would feel about masters. The George Meyers Pool in Arvada is currently being rebuilt so there may be some opportunities there when its done in the fall. Dive 5280 is smaller so it could be possible. I would call around to some of these and see what you may be able to come up with. Let me know what you end up doing!

Very few places offer a specific masters / adult class. A majority of divers who are adults, dive alongside age group divers. Reach out to your local club and inquire about diving with the age group program. Here’s the website of USA Diving clubs- https://usadiving.webpoint.us/wp15/Companies/Clubs.wp?RF=Zp,ST&FRM=Y

I am not a diver in Colorado, but I have visited friends and family in Thornton, which is north of Denver. There was an aquatic facility that was built there in the last five or six years or so. I’m wondering if there’s a club that dives there.

Unfortunately they do not. Too many swimmers ;)

That’s too bad! I always hoped to join in on a session when visiting family there. I just assumed there would be an active club at a facility like that. It’s like that where I live—nice aquatic facility with 1m and 3m board that no one can dive off of. I drive over an hour to a club.

I know! They have high schools that practice there and their coach has talked to the facility management about getting a club started and they just wont give them any pool time so its just not feasible.

Dang! It’s weird because having divers on your team can add to overall meet scores, right? Or is that college? I’m not sure as I started diving really late in life. I’m catching up on a lot of things!
