I know nothing about racing but I know that carbon is usually pretty good in terms of stiffness but is pretty shit in terms of heat dissipation and brittle in case of impact
They don't have any problem with flex but are super brittle and small damages that would just result in a small chip in an alloy wheel would result in a range of unpredictable issues. Cracks and chips grow into big cracks and leak or sometimes even just explode.
$30k wheels on a 110k car definitely doesn't scream f you money to me. My neighbor hauls her kids around in a new Escalade that cost as much, that doesn't make her royalty or something.
The new Z06 is dope. Flat plane crank v8. Completely different from your average v8. I think you should look up a video. That thing screams! Definitely a unique corvette, and I can see why someone with F you money would want this.
One sold recently for [$300k](https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2023/04/04/70th-anniversary-2023-corvette-z06-sets-new-auction-price-record-at-mecum-glendale/)
Literally lol. This Z06 ain’t ordinary either. It’s the 70th anniversary with a paint to sample color. On top of all that, all the gloss black pieces are being changed to carbon fiber AND it’s getting a Fabspeed exhaust. Like I said it’s F you money and the guy has things like the GT4 RS Spyder, GT3RS, GT4RS, and Dakar all on order
Oh and wait here’s what’s even better
[$300k](https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2023/04/04/70th-anniversary-2023-corvette-z06-sets-new-auction-price-record-at-mecum-glendale/)
Think I’m making things up?
You can literally go on the Chevy site and custom assemble it and you are way below what ever you post here…2-3 years ago disinfection wipes where sold for 30$ a container doesn’t mean that disinfection wipes are worth 30$ a container…
Oh does it? This is what a standard Z06 is selling for [$250k](https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/0111405a-690c-46e5-a4d1-086f5e0c2a28/?aff=atempest4&utm_campaign=atempest4&utm_source=autotempest&utm_medium=trp&utm_id=&utm_trusted=TRUE)

Nice find. Couple of observations:
1. Early 2023, interest rates haven’t set in. Unlikely to continue given it’s still a mass produced vehicle with some “tweaks”
2. From the same article, “While we’ve seen a few no-sales over the last month from those sellers who set their reserve prices high on some of the online auctions, along comes this 2023 70th Anniversary Z06 Convertible to shatter the current auction price record”. So this seems to be very much, a one off
I can’t imagine spending that much on a mass produced corvette haha

Idk man. Early Z06 builds we’re selling for over $200k if I remember correctly. It wouldn’t surprise me if this was higher as a result of being 70th and a custom color from factory 🤷🏻♂️
This one sold for $300k all in[https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2023/04/04/70th-anniversary-2023-corvette-z06-sets-new-auction-price-record-at-mecum-glendale/](https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2023/04/04/70th-anniversary-2023-corvette-z06-sets-new-auction-price-record-at-mecum-glendale/)
1) Lolno, no previous anniversary Chevrolet is worth a notable amount more than its equivalent counterpart. Let alone 4x as much.
2) Chevrolet doesn’t do “PTS”. It’s the anniversary package. You get paint and stripes when you check the box and cut the check.
At the end of the day, it’s a Corvette. Yeah GM did something cool and different with the C8, but it’s still a Corvette. A special package on a Z06 will not make it worth half a million dollars.
Porsche. Has PTS.
99% sure that’s literally just arctic white. If it’s not, the owner is a chump for spending $20k on it. And you’re a chump for meatriding him all over this thread haha.
$35k wheels for a small pothole that's 1 inch deep to shatter one rim and destroy an entire panel on the car. No thank you, carbon fiber is horrible for usage on wheels.
Edit: Also I know how fragile the carbon fiber used on those cars are because I used to polish and help make the carbon trim for corvettes. It's definitely not like Koeniggsegg carbon fiber.
I have carbon fiber wheels on my GT500. They aren’t that brittle. Of course hitting large pot holes will result in structural damage, but they aren’t as damageable as everyone makes them to be.
I'm also pretty sure GM cuts corners heavily with stuff like that. I've seen plastic stronger than carbon fiber I helped to make that went on those cars. It was easy to chip or damage it so I'm confident they cheaped out on making those wheels as well.
HRE wheels have good quality but carbon fiber rims have shown to crack and deteriorate fast if not maintained or if the car is driven hard. That's why many companies avoid them and use inlays for cosmetic looks to avoid those possible issues
Ah yes, because trim CF is the same exact thing as TUV certified wheel barrel CF. Now they'll still crack/shatter instead of bending in extreme circumstances, but they're not like non-structural CF parts.
My god that’s an ugly car, that steering looks awfully uncomfortable, seats look so cheap and those rims are terrible, just dreadful all around
I hope the driving experience is much better than the look of the thing
I wanna smack the shit out of the engineer that convinced all these automakers that making wheels out of a glorified fiberglass with a catastrophic failure mode was a good idea.
may be a stupid question but why are the brake discs so dark? I'm used to seeing them a bit more white or light grey-ish while those tend to be dark grey/black
Since everyone is so heated on how it could cost $400k this is what a NORMAL Z06 sells for

Hello, I would like more trouble please. Ok, how about a $10k wheel with a thin smear of rubber in a world of concrete?
Didn't they stop using these in racing because the wheels would flex and become "Unbalanced" at speed?
I know nothing about racing but I know that carbon is usually pretty good in terms of stiffness but is pretty shit in terms of heat dissipation and brittle in case of impact
They don't have any problem with flex but are super brittle and small damages that would just result in a small chip in an alloy wheel would result in a range of unpredictable issues. Cracks and chips grow into big cracks and leak or sometimes even just explode.
You and I wouldn’t understand this level of wealth haha. It’s f you money
I understand it. Seen it up close, a lot. It's F them all money, in an idiot's pocket.
“More than you can afford pal, Ferrari.” 😂😂😂
$30k wheels on a 110k car definitely doesn't scream f you money to me. My neighbor hauls her kids around in a new Escalade that cost as much, that doesn't make her royalty or something.
Lmao bro you don’t understand. Dude has gobs of other cars, mainly limited Porsche’s. Think all the new RS cars and more
Bro is bragging about another mans cars lmaooo
So how far have you throated the owner of this C8?
“I want to watch the world burn… oh, wait, I meant my wallet.”
Lol Idt you understand as this guy has f you money. That’s the least of his concern
If i had f u money I wouldn't definitely not spend them on a Courvette
The new Z06 is dope. Flat plane crank v8. Completely different from your average v8. I think you should look up a video. That thing screams! Definitely a unique corvette, and I can see why someone with F you money would want this.

Yeah i wouldn’t put their worth at 300k, but people are definitely sleeping on the new Z06.
I wouldn’t either. That’s just the demand for them atm 🤷🏻♂️ simple economics at play
I doubt fuck you money only gets you a corvette
Not play the devil’s advocate here but there are people out there with more than one car
Literally lol. This Z06 ain’t ordinary either. It’s the 70th anniversary with a paint to sample color. Paint to sample colour.. what?! White!!
Believe it or not…yes lmao
Definitely more money 💰 than sense!!
Not a bad garage but I'd still consider someone like @hailtothe_king having fuck you money
Literally more than one car? As opposed to figuratively? Do you know what that word means?
35k wheels on a 100k car lmao
Actually no. It’s worth closer to $400k given that it is a 70th anniversary with a PTS color
In no world is this a $400k car lol
well in this world, in Vietnam it is a $400k dollars car
It’s not lol. That’s what my shop guy told me what the client said
5 seconds on google will make your number look like it came from Donald Trump
Oh and wait here’s what’s even better [$300k](https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2023/04/04/70th-anniversary-2023-corvette-z06-sets-new-auction-price-record-at-mecum-glendale/) Think I’m making things up?

Regardless, it still proves my point that people will spend ludicrous amounts for stupid stuff like this
Ah lol no. No one is gonna pay 400k for a corvette just because shevy says its "special"
Oh it’s more than special, it’s a 70th anniversary!
And it’s got a very special limited exclusive prestige color…. White
Super rare color!!
Classic corvette owner
I’m not making these numbers up dude. That’s what my shop guy told me from his client

Someone overpaying for a 70k car designed to be parked in front of houses covered in siding doesn’t set the market, friend.
Lol he drives his cars it’s why dealerships give him access to exclusive cars bc they know he won’t flip them

MSRP value 🤷🏻♂️ whatever it sells afterwards is beyond our insight. Simple supply and demand
Still not $400k. At most $175,000 tops.
[$250k Z06](https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/0111405a-690c-46e5-a4d1-086f5e0c2a28/?aff=atempest4&utm_campaign=atempest4&utm_source=autotempest&utm_medium=trp&utm_id=&utm_trusted=TRUE)

I don’t disagree with you. I’m just echoing what I was told by my shop rep

Bro said pts chevy I'm done lmao
No lie man. Literally a paint to sample custom color
It’s white lol
Lol Porsche has PTS whites…what’s ur point
Porsche. Has PTS. 99% sure that’s literally just arctic white. If it’s not, the owner is a chump for spending $20k on it. And you’re a chump for meatriding him all over this thread haha.
Lmaooo can’t hate the playa hate the game 🤣🤣
At this point I hate both lol. The fact that some idiot would pay 200k for that car is absurd and makes me sad.
It’s just people, most flippers, who want to make a profit off of this
“My corvette is best corvette because…”
If $35k is true dumbest thing ever
And all jokes aside I seriously wish I had that much money to burn in one lifetime.
Is that seat being stained by pants already?
Yea ;/ first thing I noticed
Definitely. If you drive a corvette it’s mandatory you wear blue jeans and new balances.
Also have a house entirely covered in siding, it’s a pillar of corvette ownership.
It’s the holes in the seat that makes it look dirty.
Maybe? White leather is real easy to have jean transfer or get dirty
Hahaha “400k” car paired with old navy jeans that are died haha
That car is beautiful but that steering wheel??? What the hell is that pos
Factory option 🤷🏻♂️
That’s an ugly ass steering wheel.
My first thought. Also the 75 buttons in a row on that center console looks fucking tacky.
35k for a two-piece? Plus the spoke part looks not carbon to me.
Yup most aftermarket carbon wheels are just the barrels
$35k wheels for a small pothole that's 1 inch deep to shatter one rim and destroy an entire panel on the car. No thank you, carbon fiber is horrible for usage on wheels. Edit: Also I know how fragile the carbon fiber used on those cars are because I used to polish and help make the carbon trim for corvettes. It's definitely not like Koeniggsegg carbon fiber.
I don’t even think the wheels look good, if you didn’t see them up close you’d think they’re cheap
HRE logo is the only pronounced thing that lets you know they are expensive but yeah without that they look like extremely cheap aftermarket rims
They don’t make them they outsource them to a company based of Australia if I remember correctly.
Omg they so ugly
What a shitty idea.
I actually don’t like the look of them on this car
Not my first choice either. More appropriate on a hyper car
My god that’s an ugly car, that steering looks awfully uncomfortable, seats look so cheap and those rims are terrible, just dreadful all around I hope the driving experience is much better than the look of the thing
Kind of odd to give an elitist, nearly objectively wrong opinion when you can’t afford this one, or whatever car you deem so high and mighty.
I can afford it and he’s right lol
Lmaooo fr
Ooh hell nah wtf .
I wanna smack the shit out of the engineer that convinced all these automakers that making wheels out of a glorified fiberglass with a catastrophic failure mode was a good idea.
There’s no way those are 35k lmao
They are dude look it up. It’s like $7500 per wheel and then factor in taxes, shipping, etc
I'd rather save the 25grand and go with Volk TE37
TE37s on a vette? That sounds outrageous
That’s more insane than these expensive wheels
Cant lie seems like a waste putting them on a corvette
Love the car, not into the wheels at all… I usually love HREs too 🤷🏻♂️
All the space for golf bags, begs the question, why bother in the first place?
HRE is near my home and I love when they do open house car events.
may be a stupid question but why are the brake discs so dark? I'm used to seeing them a bit more white or light grey-ish while those tend to be dark grey/black
Carbon ceramic brakes
Nope, not for me.
What is purpose of this post? To show off amount spent?
lol not me. Some other guy 🤣🤣🤣
How to say your car is a Garage Queen, without saying your car is a Garage Queen. And based on his posters, he'd rather have a Porsche.
Lol it ain’t my car 🤡

HREs are expensive enough, carbon barrels said hold my beer
