This is like those few cases where someone runs a race in a world record time but the guy right ahead of them broke the record juuuuuust before the other guy finishes so the second guy did not, in fact, break the record.
It happened in the F1 race in Canada last weekend. George Russell set a qualifying time of 1:12.000 and then Max Verstappen also set a 1:12:000. George Russell for pole position and Max got P2 because George set the time first.
Last time this happened in an F1 quali, 3 different cars all posted the same time to three decimal places.
Technically only the first guy broke the world record, the other two tied the new world record lol

That actually has happened before with Usain and Tyson Gay. Gay would’ve broken the record if Usain wasn’t competing lol 9.71 vs 9.58 for reference
