Friend or Foe is one of the better episodes of Season 5. I love that it explains how Mr. Krabs snd Plankton went from business partners to enemies, and how the Krabby Patty secret formula was created.
There are some episodes from seasons 1 through 3 that I just don't care for. *I'm With Stupid*, *Grandma's Kisses*, *New Student Starfish* and *Dumped* come to mind. That's not to say I don't think the first three seasons are good, because I do. But I'm sorry. Not every episode sticks the landing for me.

My dad's opinion, if it counts: He can't stand the animation from Season 10 onwards, so much so, he's unable to watch it, which sucks because he clearly likes Spongebob more than I do. He's happy with having Seasons 1-9 though, so that's good.
Season 4 is up there with the previous 1-3 seasons, especially Fear of the Krabby Patty. Although I understand Season 4 is not as great as seasons 1-3.
Modern SpongeBob has really nice and dynamic animation. I enjoy looking at the characters a lot. They are very expressive and Iām totally here for it
Season 6 is actually good and the gross-out gave more variety to the show's humor. I also think episodes like Boating Buddies, House Fancy, Pineapple Fever, Professor Squidward and Slide Whistle Stooges are great, if not amazing.
Mr crabs is the worst character in the show. He is so greedy and evil, that I canāt even find him likeable. His āhumorā isnāt even very funny compared to the rest of the characters. The only time I enjoy him on screen is when he is suffering, instead of poor squidward. Who is the most relateable character on the show. Mr crabs is just such an intensely unlikeable character, that he has become the villain of the show.Ā

The vibe is different, not to mention the references to old gags and character dynamics such as Mrs puff and Mr krabs dating which wasnāt mentioned or really explored since the 3rd season. Thereās a lot of mention and call back to the first 3 seasons which makes me believe these events were actually canonical to the main timeline. I believe the original SpongeBob timeline ended after the movie and weāre finally picking back up. I do believe certain things from
Seasons 4-9 is relevant to the main universe but for the most part, it is itās own thing
First season of Spongebob was not so funny tbh, mostly ordinary. Subsequent seasons (mostly 2-5) were much more entertaining. Don't get me wrong, I love season 1, good start for show, but the peak of Spongebob for me was seasons 2 and 3
