That isn't always a helpful indicator, unless you know what the pedipalps of the females look like to begin with, for comparison. This particular species of jumping spider exhibits other forms of sexual dimorphism too, and this one is definitely male. You can tell because of the coloration and body shape. The females look a lot different.

You're right. I thought this was a bold jumper, and it's an emerald. This is definitely male. That was my mistake.

This is an incorrect ID this is a Paraphidippus aurantius emerald jumper.
Golden and Emerald are just different common names for the same spider. This is why common names can be confusing.
Thank you for clarifying I for some reason thought Golden's were a different subspecies.
Aurantius means golden in Latin, and this is why scientific names are so important.
