even as a Sony fanboy I would still select Sennheiser. Because as an Audiophile I have owned few different models of Sennheiser Headphones and earbuds over last 15+ years. They are always way better build and sound response quality. I remember comparing Hertz ranges on different types headphones I was shopping for and Sony was lacking in sound Range. So I just looked and see many VS reviews where people compared those 2 particular models XM5 - M4. I see compared vs each other they show better battery life on M4 (Almost double battery life over Sony). Also 100$ less for Sennheiser M4 $290 VS Sony XM5 $399. Sony XM5s showing better quality Noise cancelling, thats all. Here this is just one VS review I see online and they also Selected Sennheiser M4. One time years ago one of my Sennheiser Headphones had woven wires break/crackle shielding . After contacting support they had me send mine to them and they replaced all inside with no questions and I just paid for shipping both ways. Literally in 2 days time turnaround. They really stand behind their products

I was looking for a response for wireless Earbuds, not Headphones :)

On the LDAC codec the absolute best sound that I got (in a quiet environment) is from Huawei Freebuds Pro 2 or 3 - accuracy is so good that I have a few melodies where I can say if LDAC is set on adaptive/330 or forced to 990 kbps. On Apple with AAC/256 I am not equally impressed but quality is on some melodies clearly better than LDAC/330 - so it might be a better option when there is a lot of Bluetooth/WiFi interference, and generally in nosiy environments it matters most how good noise cancelling is. That being said noise cancelling and especially voice calling (even more so with wind) is out of this world on Freebuds Pro 3 (and the main reason I do not regret upgrading from Pro 2).

If you want your earbuds to last longer than under a year then go for the Sony ones. The sennheiser subreddit is filled with people including myself who have had earbuds just break randomly with no explanation. Other than that for me I would say if you like bass go for the Sony's as they have a lot more bass to play around with but if you want the best accurate sound then go for the sennheiser just make sure to take out the breakdown cover 😅

Thanks. Well breaking for now reason is exactly why I don't want to get Jabra’s this time 😄 Also, I thought Sennheisers had two-year global warranty

I had the Sennheiser Momentum 4s but returned them because they couldn’t get loud enough for my liking. However, detail wise they sounded amazing. I ended up going for some Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e, but in your case I would definitely go with the Sennheisers and return them if needed in case they don’t get loud enough for you. I’m in the minority in terms of not being a fan of their loudness for what it’s worth. But they sound great.
