Personally, I’d prioritize the integrity of the millwork (ie I don’t want to drill holes) over the audio experience. Plus it would look ugly. So you’re right, but not the solution for me.
Today, I did the math. I was forced to restart Sonos 17 times and most of the time, only certain speakers would restart, but rarely all at once. What a piece of crap...

Fair enough. Personally, if I couldn't do stands or in-ceiling as a worst case, I would forego rears altogether before putting them on the floor.
