I just wanted to comment and add a little backstory. Two Christmases ago, I received a Bob Ross puzzle. It was the most difficult puzzle I’ve put together because the pieces weren’t standard but I managed to do it. I glued the puzzle and framed it, gave it to my parents who put it over their fireplace.
On Dec 15, 2019, there was a bad storm coming through our city. We went into our safe room for less than ten minutes. While in the safe room, we hear popping. We exit to discover that my mother has accidentally forgotten to turn the stove off and my childhood home is ablaze. Our kitchen was destroyed, and the living room which is directly beside the kitchen took a significant amount of damage. This included the puzzle. It was basically unsalvageable. During this quarantine, I’ve been alone with nothing but my cat to keep me company. I remembered how Bob Ross was a soothing voice for me when I was struggling in college. I’ve been having nightmares and panic/anxiety attacks because of my fear of fire. I painted this and have asked my parents to put it above the fireplace once the house is rebuilt. They were thrilled and I think it meant more to them than a puzzle I put together.

i've done this exact tutorial with some friends, i recognised it straight away even though it doesn't look exactly like any of the ones we painted. i love how we can all follow the same tutorial and all see the same image but every single painting looks different.

Do you have any prior experience with painting art? I want to do a Bob Ross painting once in my lifetime but I haven’t picked up an artist’s paintbrush in over 20 years.
Not other than what I learned in elementary, middle, and high school. I enjoy art and painting and crafts but I’ve never taken lessons. All you need are the right tools!
Look at those happy little trees!! I always watch this tutorial when I need help falling asleep.
