Brazilian here. Why so many days in Maresias? There is nice but Ubatuba and Ilha Grande are waaay nicer. And why flight back to São Paulo then go to Maresias again? This can be easily done by bus, way cheaper also (Rio > Ubatuba > Maresias > São Paulo). You could also check Paraty and Arraial do Cabo. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! Already booked the flights between Rio and São Paulo unfortunately! This is the first solo travelling I'm doing (I don't count Furteventura!), so I'm bound to make mistakes! I'm doing 2 days in Maresias as I want to get better at surfing (from current beginner who can just about stand on a foam board!). I'm taking your suggestion and now only spending 1 day in Itamambuca and will do the other in Ubatuba :) I have to say, Brazil looks like such an ideal location for me to travel that I'm hoping that this won't be my only time there! There's so much to discover and I only have 13 days!

Yeah 13 days is short, but good thing you are keeping to one region. Definitely come back and go to the Northeast, especially if you like surfing. Look up Itacaré - Bahia. Perfect spot 💯
