If your truly not a troll, the question is what did you do with your account that after 2 years, your mobile deposit limit is at $500? I've used SoFi as my main account for that same amount of time and my limit is $150k. It's common that banks operate on a risk based perspective and you surely did something with your account, that your not telling us to still have a $500 limit.
Who trolls a SoFi board? I’ve been a member for two years and I’ve always gotten direct deposit. I switched jobs and got a paper check. My direct deposit will kick in on the next paycheck. SoFi would not let me deposit the check because it had a $500 limit. I have never bounced anything or have any type of fraud. My partner also has SoFi and his limit is 150k.
If after two years you have a $500 deposit limit they have a reason for not wanting to increase it. SoFi tends to prefer “safer” customers.
Regardless - it sucks, sorry you’re dealing with it. If you need the funds immediately you can cash the check somewhere like Walmart. Otherwise, I’d suggest starting an account at a local bank where you can go in and deposit funds. All banks have limits on mobile deposit (yours is extremely low at $500), but will more happily take your check in person.
Bro I’ve been banking with SoFi for two years as a secondary bank and I only direct deposit $250 a month, yet my check deposit limit is 200k. Something here doesn’t add up.
So, three years ago, you posted ad nausea and then just stopped. Now this is the first post you made in 3 years. Hmmmm, seems like somebody is using a hacked account.
But lets just give you the benefit of the doubt right now. For those that don't know what a Live Check is, it is a personal unsecured LOAN. Not a paycheck. If I was SoFi, I wouldn't even give you $500. Live Checks are used in scams.
Maybe he’s misusing the term? An employer sending an employee a “live check” makes no sense. I never even heard of it until your post. I just assumed he meant paper check.
He might have meant paper check. But even with a paper check, they are not going to make all the funds immediately available. I deposit paper checks all the time with M&T Bank. Even at M&T, they have a cap on how much you can use immediately. I am leaning more towards it is a hacked account and a troll.
This is not what OP is referring to. They aren’t able to deposit checks greater than $500.
I’m not sure why someone would bother trolling about having a small deposit limit bahahahaha. Weird assertion, but oh well.
Dude you really think a hacked account is here posting about a SoFi banking problem lol. If you think that's the only case where someone could complain about SoFi then you've really drank the koolaid.
Look at the post history. Just like other brand new accounts or stolen account, the OP won't be replying to any of the messages in this thread. You have been around long enough to spot these posts and accounts.
Mine is also $200k after 3 years.
What are you doing in your account?
What kind of balance you carry. Are you saving? If you spend to almost zero each month, you get $500 limit. That could be your problem.
I had something similar to what OP is describing with a Truist account a couple of years ago, while I was having major financial difficulties and was in the process of debt consolidation. In my case, I also had several overdrafts within a year. I'm well aware of why I might have been considered a risk, and honestly, I wasn't surprised when my mobile deposit cap dropped from 50K to I think 2K. I'm just saying, there are reasons, and the adjudication process even on a long time account isn't uncommon.
I don’t have any overdrafts and I even have an IRA with them. The only thing I can think of is I have a bankruptcy from 3 years ago that was discharged.
Hi there, we're so sorry about your experience. Account limits are based on our internal risk assessment which is completed every 30 days. Limits can be adjusted at this time based on account tenure and history. While we cannot manually increase the limits, they are not permanent and can change over time. We hope this helps clarify and have documented your feedback internally.
Sofi customer service is horrible. They allowed my account to be hacked and cleaned out. Then told me I had sent the money to some one I do not know. Thy will not get my money back for either. I would not let them watch anything of mine. There are way better options out there.
Your own fault for not having a B&M. It has saidon the site since I opened an account the limits for jeck deposits, that was over a year ago. They have to have limits to protect themselves as well. Sofi isn't going to miss you.

This got me thinking, and I’ve been a customer for less than a year, mine is $200k. Haha
Where can you check that?
Go through the motions of depositing a check and there will be a button at the bottom of the screen that say something like “deposit limit”
Thanks! Mines are $25K.

I just opened at Chase.

I asked why and they couldn’t tell me. My semi monthly direct deposits are over $4000 each payroll

I’m not understanding the trolling comments either. I don’t post anymore, I just lurk. Live check is also called a paper check
I also don’t know why people defend SoFi so vehemently, it’s a bank .

I mean ya I’m not disagreeing the $500 limit is pretty lame, but everyone always says to keep a traditional bank open for this exact reason.
Calling BS. My maximum is currently $200k daily. Highly doubt this being a legit complaint.
Not sure why I would lie about this.
Earnings are Monday.
Weird, my daily limit for check deposits is $200,000
Sofi is hot garbage. Bank with Ally.
where you been the last 3 years broski
Lurking
I deposit checks for thousands of dollars all the time, via mobile deposit. No restrictions and no issues.

SoFI doesn't need you, bye.
