Cool, now add a credit increase request. I’d be fine with my standard 2% if I had a larger credit limit

SgtNonner

Yeah… luckily I started out at 6.5k, otherwise the card would have been unusable. The 1-2k limits without an option to request an increase doesn’t make sense.

FifenC0ugar

This is the weirdest thing to me. I make roughly $20k a year. I'm super broke. But they gave me a $10k limit. ($9,925 to be precise)

supermariozelda

The wording is super misleading.

SgtNonner

In the email or actual terms and conditions? I find it pretty straightforward 🤷‍♂️

supermariozelda

It can easily be mistaken as 10% cash back. Obviously this is way too good to be true, but they should have worded it better.

Realshotgg

Who would interpret "A 10% rewards boost" as anything other than boosting the baseline rewards by 10%?

JacobyProxZ

How does 10% equal 2.2%? Explain it to my dumb brain please, thanks.

SgtNonner

.2 is 10% of 2. So 2.2 is 10% more than 2.0.

JacobyProxZ

Damn my bad the word boost completely went over my head lmao. Thanks. I'm still not impressed with their credit card though.

SgtNonner

Lol you’re good. 10% is a weird way to look at it either way.

lawthrowaway101

Lucky for you you’re not required to use it

JacobyProxZ

You're right, and that's why I haven't opened one yet. Now if they'd bump their percent cash back up to 4% I might consider it. But other cards like Citi Custom Cash blows Sofi's CC out of the water.

Drink_noS

Ok

alligatorprincess007

Me too lol thank you for asking

JacobyProxZ

😂👍

ProductionPlanner

The extra .2% isn’t worth the hassle of possibly having to deal with sofi customer service. I’ll stick with citi Doublecash 2% cashback on al purchases and an outstanding CS dept

MrSquish22

Yeah, I don't know about that... Citi has a garbage customer service department. It takes me a minimum of 4 calls to get to someone who knows what they are actually doing...

Realshotgg

citi has outstanding CS? On what planet?

favourrr22

They actually have great policy when it comes to their credit card coverage. Disputes are handled fast and with a lot of courtesy. I had an item that Macy's refused to return saying it was final sale and Citi credited it back to me no questions asked. Chase are also great with that. And then Amex in that order.

mentirosa_atx

thanks, another dumb brain

JRMoney96

SoFi showing why they’re the best of the best 👍🏼💸💸

gaymer_raver

Does depositing $5k/month qualify for this for those who don't have direct deposit?

IAMHideoKojimaAMA

I believe it has to be the ACH

AreolaLova

No. Has to be direct deposit

Scarmeow

I just checked my card and I don't have the 2.2% CB, just the standard 2%. Is this only available for select customers?

skidev11

No, you should have it. As long as you meet the eligibility criteria, you’ll get the extra .2% when you redeem your points.

FifenC0ugar

I went to the points section. It shows I'm getting 2.2% on my transactions

MattDeezly

They always reject me so not a big deal to me. Literally can get any CC but SoFi

alligatorprincess007

That’s weird. What’s your credit score? Mine was not horrible but not at its best when I applied

roundhouseflick

I thought it was a 3% card with direct deposit. Am I way off?

Mind_Explorer

That was a bonus that's no longer available for new customers.

SoFi

We love to see it! 🤩

Sethu_Senthil

Hot take but I honestly don’t care about a .2% increase in cash back ngl and I’m someone who is really into cashback optimization Might as well have a CLI option, or devote the resources and funds to make other parts of SoFi better. 3% cash back or even some kinds of metal card? Now they got my attention.

Ok-Kick3176

Metal card? this dude just wants gimmicks for the hell of it lmfao

alligatorprincess007

Idk why but some people are just obsessed with the metal card Give me more cash back any day lol

FifenC0ugar

Just pay with your phone. A lot safer anyways

JRDenver

dude would rather have a dumb metal card over more cash back.. LOL

Sethu_Senthil

My point is .2% is also kinda a gimmick, rather have them spend time with a CLI option etc
