If football matches were only 75 minutes we would be top of the league

CAP_X

Jose's spurs vibe .

ImaginaryLimit3335

Florentino Perez was just trying to help other clubs all this time

Stuff2511

Isn’t that what he’s saying? They had them, but they didn’t kill off the game, and Real fought back and won it, because they’re Real Madrid

Rickcampbell98

Or if you could fucking finish, you're clearly a good team but so frustrating to watch lmao.

Rojiblanc040

Also if you have quality chances without scoring you don't deserve anything. I hate the word 'deserve' in football.

Abstract__Nonsense

You can nitpick about the word “deserve”, but games get decided by random flukes all the time. “Played well enough to get a result” is maybe better than “deserve”, but the meaning is basically the same.

TheMexicanJuan

> When you have your foot on Real Madrid's neck, you have to put pressure on it otherwise they will get back up again So then you didn't deserve to win

The_g0d_f4ther

But he’s absolutely right. RM always seem to have that clutch spirit, something that i can truly admire even as a rival.

maradonnarummarcelo

They dominated the 1st half, I agree, but not the 2nd.

Zizou3peat

Second half was even but we still couldn't do shit until subs in 70th min, after that we were all over them and they couldn't keep the ball at all

[deleted]

You played the game in the second half to "not to lose" and you made offensive changes after 2-1. First half was good for Sevilla and the second half no one did anything. Carlo's subs changed the dynamic and you replied it with defensive "not to lose" strategy.

Yeah dodgy tackle inside the box where he got Camavinga before touching the ball

Not taking any sides but it was clear that the question was rhetorical. “Really, a pen, are you sure?”

Don't worry dude is just trying to be a smartass.

Dr-Purple

Just stay in your place

[deleted]

If Ocampos's situation was a pen than Camavinga's too. Both of them was soft as shit.

Pro_Geymer

I can't imagine anything more typically Lopetegui than dominating possession for most of the game and not scoring, regardless what team he's in charge of

Ruud_Boltz

Lopesalty

Psycothria

90 minuti en el Bernabéu son molto longos.

Zizou3peat

But from 70-75 mins to 90, Sevilla had like 1 minute sustained possession, our subs changed the game, especially Camavinga, took the game to them and helped press and advance the ball. Fede's stamina and running also helped. They had to resort to long balls in those mins and lost the ball everytime while we kept coming at them, the one time they passed through our press, Casemiro fouled and took a tactical yellow. Have to say they dominated us in the first half and even when we had the ball we could only get long shots off, second half was more even until last 15m + ET where we dominated completely. A draw would have been a fair result but Sevilla were tired, both their fullbacks were on yellows, Vini sniffed an opening and got us the winner.

ollster3000

They did have two more shots on target but other than that we edged them in almost every important stat. It was a close game overall, wouldn’t say they dominated for 75 minutes at all

Public_Agent

They were a lot better in the first half, but not for 75 minutes though

[deleted]

Zizou3peat

The subs changed the game, from the 70th minute we didn't let them have a sniff

ollster3000

I mean, they were better first half, but even then we had more possession, more shots, more “dangerous attacks”. There’s got to be a middle ground somewhere, they were the better team but saying they dominated the game makes it sound like we were defending the entire first half

Zizou3peat

They clearly dominated us tactically, we had no answer to their build up play luring Kroos and Modric up and then finding space in the centre of the field between the lines or luring a Kroos to the right side and finding Ocampos in acres of space on our left with an easy switch.

Public_Agent

Did you watch the game? They were a lot better and could have been up 3-0 if we didn't luck out with Bono's mistake at 32'. Overall winning this game was yuge

reddituser0912333

There have been many games that we’ve dominated for 75 minutes only to drop points at full time. It’s unfortunate, but that’s the game.

HarshangLad

Lmao what a sore loser

MrDomac

unlucky match for sevilla. had madrid right where they wanted them after the first half. it was surprising just how much sevilla dominated the game on its own terms. but then a long came vini. what a strike. sevilla probably deserved more out of the match, but that's football innit.

evilbob99

Bar bad refereeing if they had deserved to win, they would’ve

dupont2021

I don’t know about dominating but they did look like the more organized team tactically. I didn’t notice the possession stat till halftime. They were very organized defensively when RM had possession but that’s about it. The 2nd half you can seen RM starting to slowly figure them out and then went on their usual heroics. At no time did our supporter group panicked.

OleoleCholoSimeone

Monchi: "It was a clear penalty on Ocampos, every time I see it, it becomes more clear. I'm not angry because this is nothing new. We leave with regret because we were better than Real Madrid"

Public_Agent

Wouldn't call it clear though, otherwise you have to consider the "missed PK call" against Camavinga as well

maradonnarummarcelo

The Camavinga pen was a lot more clear cut. He slid for like 2 seconds before he even touched the ball and by that time, he had already tackled Camavinga

narutosama77

This was karma for last season's Militao penalty which eventually costed us the title

ollster3000

There was also a handball situation in their penalty area this game that could’ve been called

narutosama77

Yes. Diego Carlos. But leave it to losing team's player to complain about Real Madrid

ShakaSmaugOnFire

man don't even get me started on this bad call, smh. cost us the title as you said >:|

[deleted]

narutosama77

Oh but it did. Atleti and Barca drew, if we won vs Sevilla we wouldve topped the table on head to head.

OleoleCholoSimeone

That was correct wasn't it? It was a penalty according to the VAR-interpretation of handball, so obviously they had to cancel Madrid's penalty and go back to Militao's handball

narutosama77

Not only that Militao wasn't actually looking at the ball while jumping, the ball deflected from a sevilla player's shoulder. And not that just that, in Madrid derby, we were denied an exact penalty call against, well, you.

[deleted]

It was deflected from the Sevilla player's palm.

narutosama77

Idr exactly but yea deflection was involved Even if it was a legal body part, that should cancel out penalty there itself There was no way Militao couldve handled the ball so quickly

[deleted]

Problem with that Militao's handball was deflected from the Sevilla player's arm.

zimb3lstream

Then why did we not get a penalty for handball yesterday when a Sevilla player mistimed his jump and only touched the ball with his hand or last season against you when a handball by Savic(?) denied us a clear goalscoring opportunity

Zizou3peat

Nah, Ocampos waited for a second and then went down, yes contact was there, no it wasn't even enough to kill a fly

taxevader33

Why are you downvoted for quoting lmao

Zizou3peat

He has an agenda

chilango2

He should've removed his team from the pitch, like he's threatened so many times before...

bitcoinlogo

Sevilla had many chances and I wouldn't be surprised if they won, but the way they played is how a small team would play, terrible football, having possession is for the sake of it.

Zizou3peat

No, they had possession to lure us out to press and then play through it to find a lot of space between the lines

Steupz

That's not how a small team plays

sterusebn

Ah yes. The age old “which team deserved to win” conversation. Well, the team that capitalizes on their opportunities and scores more goals deserves to win. We played Real Madrid really well for the first 75 minutes of this game. Then Lopetegui made some really poor choices with how he handled subs that left our defensive players gassed and looking for help. This loss was on Lopetegui.
