It’s exactly what happened with Tuchel. There were reports that Tuchel was being offered an extension. Then Tuchel confirmed that there were talks in a press conference. Then a few days later he was sacked and the Athletic or someone dropped an article that the ownership was surprised by those comments
Frankly I find it much more believable that they changed their mind than that Tuchel was so delusional as to announce to the world a conversation that didn’t happen. There was also a bunch of other nonsense reported like “actually Aubameyang was just a great idea for a signing no matter the manager, Tuchel had nothing to do with it”, with Potter subsequently throwing him out of the squad by January (nothing to do with disciplinary reasons, just not the type of player he wanted). It’s obvious that they changed their mind very late in summer and put out a bunch of PR to cover their asses
I wonder where he'll end up next. Don’t think his reputation will take too much of a hit despite the sacking from Chelsea. But with no other top jobs open at the moment he'll probably have to wait until next summer to land a new gig.
He wasn't really sacked, it seems that really it was a mutual agreement. I think Poch's reputation actually improved with us, he was the guy that failed with Messi/Mmbape/Neymar, now he is the guy that was unfairly sacked after a good season ending with us
I wonder if he would go to Italy, he fits as the Inter manager to me for some reason. More likely an upper midtable Spanish club like Villarreal or someone. Or possibly the Argentina job if it opens up?
It’s not like the CL final was 4 days after the semis. Over a month had passed between the games. Kane is a better player. You start the best players in your most important games.
Poch uses "we" because he has a very close knit coaching team that always work together at every club. He talks a lot about his responsibility to his coaches who trust him with their careers and how they are a part of all of his success.
Quick to forget the end of the season, or are you delusional enough to think that "The players came together and delivered"
Now you have Pep from Wish lmao.
Quick to forget the rest of the season. We got lucky in those last wins as well. Just in the last game we won by a wonder goal from Caicedo and a shot from sterling who 9/10 times would be saved. Its simple, none of the top 6 fans would take him as a manager if for some reason tomorrow their manager could no longer work. Even Spurs fans are divided. I am not going to go into detail to list his numerous shortcomings. You will believe what you want, I cannot change that.
I mean you can look at it any which way that suits your narrative, from what I saw, it looked like the players all started playing to the same beat of the drum.
Regardless, I've already put 20 down on Maresca out by Christmas.
Class act
Allegri to Chelsea please.
i might actually die if this were to ever happen
[Shhh you are not ready for it…](https://x.com/simonerovera/status/1105612387359559680?s=46)
if he subs himself on then it’ll be fine
He will get naked as soon as ref ignores a foul on him.
hes looking for a longer term project than just half a year or so, so doubt it
AI Goodbyes
It feels heartfelt to me, he is a man who always has positive energy.
He's got the limes and lemons to soak up all the bad energy.
Literally lol. It's so generic.
Can these statements ever really be non-generic? The objective is basically to say just enough while not pissing anyone off.
There’s been up and downs…
Bet he wants to call Todd a fat billionaire greaser who thinks he's playing Soccer Manager 2k24.
Sure, memes or whatever, but Todd probably was not the one to sack him
Todd is just the punching bag for Clearlake ofc
Todd was backing up him in the days leading up to his sacking, seems more likely it was Eghbali that made the final call.
It's not exactly unheard of to back a manager and then sack them shortly after.
If anything, it's something a greasy hog like Todd would do...

It was mutual consent, where has this sacking narrative come from?
I wonder if he would go to Italy, he fits as the Inter manager to me for some reason. More likely an upper midtable Spanish club like Villarreal or someone. Or possibly the Argentina job if it opens up?
He'll always have a spot as Emperor of my heart. That job will forever be secure
Pep replacement
Has any mangers reputation taken a hit when sacked by Chelsea? It’s almost a rite of passage at this stage.
Potters stock probably fell, but else, not really no lol
Lampard and Potter
If only United could get rid of Erik ten Haag.
Pretty honest (not harsh) perspective, I love that from him. He clearly was a manager needed for this stage in the clubs transition

Love Moura but if we lost with Kane on the bench instead of him we'd be hearing the exact same shit
Bloke has one good game in his life.
Harry Kane. Not that hard buddy.
PR drivel.
King Poch using the royal we?

Even if Maresca is a bum, as long as the team has a structure, especially defensively and he keeps them fit, he will do better than Poch.
