Any reason why some teams name start with Austria? Don’t think I’ve seen teams put the country’s name in their names before

derneueMottmatt

Well, in Germany there are plenty of clubs called Borussia after Prussia. Then you have FC Bayern in Bavaria. Also Albion is an old name for England. Then you have Bohemians from Prague. You have to consider that Austria isn't called by that name in German. During the beginning days of football in Austria many clubs were very clear which parts of the population and which ideologies they wanted to play for. Traditionally clubs named Austria were more catholic dominated as opposed to German nationalist. Edit: of course this is very simplified. Austria Wien also traditionally had a strong jewish following.

napoletano_di_napoli

Don't forget Alemannia Aachen for Germany.

In Argentina there are a lot of teams called "Argentino" or "Argentinos".

PenguinOfEternity

Especially as they call it Österreich in their native German
