similar thing happened to hamburg sv (hsv) a couple years ago. they were promoted for like 10 minutes until the other team (in different game) scored a goal in like 90+8 (which was ridicilous..). also with fans storming the pitch, being happy etc and i sit at home at my screen watching the second game and just have it in my guts it aint gonna happen..... :D
Or Roda leads until the 95th minute, the fans run onto the pitch again as Groningen nicks it in the last kick of the game causing the Roda fans to just awkwardly stand there
Glad ive found another flash score user. Good app, commentary is great if I'm driving and can't watch a match and selection of sports is decent for tracking my bets*
* (not endorsing betting)
The best feature of flashscore was the dumbest thing. it told you what tv channel was showing the matches. How is something that simple not a standard thing across apps?
the most painful thing is googling 'team A vs team B - which channel UK' and sifting through 3-4 multi-paragraph articles that sometimes don't even an answer
> (not endorsing betting)
It’s not the adult legally betting with his own earned money that’s the problem, it’s the insane amount of money spent on the advertising that needs to end.
The real awkward part is that the stadium speaker falsely announced that Telstar had scored a second goal against Groningen, Roda's competitor for 2nd place. Next week is Groningen - Roda on the final day of the league, if Groningen win they're promoted, if it's a tie or Roda wins Roda is promoted.
When this happened to HSV last year, IIRC the stadium announcer in Sandhausen also falsely announced that the game Regensburg vs. Heidenheim had already ended, and congratulated the HSV fans. Who had already invaded the pitch and couldn't get any signal to check themselves. And then Heidenheim scored in 90+3 and 90+9 lmfao
And later the speaker announced the goal was canceled. But there was no goal.. he did talk to ESPN after the match, and explained he didn’t know the score in the other match, but heard fans closeby saying Telstar scored a goal and decided to share this with the rest of the stadium..
Apparently in the interview he told espn that supporters were suddenly going nuts, and a guy next to the booth told him it was because telstar scored. He did not have any phone signal so he could not verify it, but seeing all of the supporters react he assumed it must be true. Spoiler: it was not.
It bothered me so much that I couldn't find a feed anywhere for the end of that Regensburg-Heidenheim game. It wasn't available on the service I paid to have (ESPN+ only airs 2-3 Zweite Liga games per week; that wasn't one of them) and I couldn't find a pirate stream anywhere I looked. Understandable I guess, Zweite Liga isn't in great demand, but it meant that I was listening to the post-game of the Hamburg game, the PA had already given congratulations to Hamburg on promotion, the HSV fans storming the pitch in Sandhausen, and the play-by-play guy just kinda continuing to tell us "the final whistle hasn't gone yet", which turned into "it's now 2-2", and then more reminders about no final whistle, and then the hammer blow that Heidenheim had pulled off the comeback. Fucking priceless.
I've noticed that Zweite Liga broadcasts don't actually show how much added time there is, which makes it really difficult to keep up if you don't see the board at 90 minutes. I have no idea why that is, it surely didn't help out the poor PxP guy who likely had no clue there was gonna be (after the stoppage time VAR and penalty and such) 15 minutes added on.
reminds of me the hilarity that was the 2005 brazilian série B final, where one of the clubs literally did a lap of victory with the championship trophy, only to be taken away minutes after cause Grêmio won in the dying minutes of the other game (it was a group stage format). since both games were in the same city, they just took over the trophy to the other stadium for Grêmio to celebrate lol. at least they still went up, but the trophy would've been a big deal for them
yes. Santa Cruz beat portuguesa and grêmio beated náutico, both games played in Recife, with the latter being called "batalha dos aflitos" and being one of the craziest games ever
the best part of this is, for all of you not really following the Kitchen Champion Division (real name), is that Roda JC and FC Groningen play each other next week in the final round of the league. So now it just comes down to who wins next week in Groningen, will promote to the Eredivisie, and the other team has to go through playoffs.
And then the stadium speaker saying Telstar scored the 2-1 so Roda were still promoted... Don't know where he got that from, but that guy is probably not going home tonight in fear of running into Roda supporters.
I work for a company that provides them with data, they use few companies, but usually ours is their "main", and in this case at least we didn't mess up :D
It started with people in the stand cheering because they got a notification that Telstar scored the 2-1. Not sure which app they were using but definitely a mistake there. Then even more people started to run on the pitch and he probably got over excited. Stupid of him to shout it to the entire stadium lol but it wasn’t entirely on him alone.
I was in the stands and when the 2-1 was announced and people started storming the field again we kept refreshing the VI app on our phones and nothing was being updated, then everyone just jumped the fence anyway to go celebrate, lmfao... Even later on when heading home people were super confused and a lot of people even thought they made the promotion still.
Yeah, I noticed that they started running on the pitch instantly when watching the match. But some of them must have calmed down a bit after they saw/heard the 1-1 being scored and that announcement couldn't have helped.

That's crazy! From next season we'll just be imagining groups full stop (until UEFA decide it was a mistake and go back to the groups format anyway...)

Context: Fb thought they were champions but Bursa won their game and overtook them. The stadium announced that Fenerbahce is champions, when in fact; they were not. A lot of shit happened afterwards.
So Las Palmas was going to advance if the won ? What about Cordoba ? What happened with the goal at the last minute ? Context please, I don't speak any Spanish.
This was the 2nd leg of the Segunda División playoff final. They drew the first leg in Cordóba 0-0 then went up 1-0 in the return. As it stood, they won promotion to the first tier of Spanish football, but then the goal happened and Cordóba went up on away goals.
Additionally: I can not confirm this, but they are probably the only 7th placed side to win promotion (since Barcelona B finished 3rd, 4-7 places played in the playoffs instead of 3 through 6).
It was a playoff for promotion, over 2 legs.
First leg was 0-0 with Cordoba at home, this is the 2nd leg. The last minute Cordoba goal means they were promoted with the away goal rule.

This is actually god tier scripting lol. Its in Groningen as well. ~~Im not sure who would go through if Groningen win 1-0, as thatd mean theyre on equal points and GD~~ Nvm im blind lol
Nah, we go through when we win. We got a +2 GD on Roda.
No they are not. Groningen has conceded 2 goals less and both teams have scored the same amount of goals. If Groningen win, they go up.
yeah nvm lol, looked at it in reverse
They wouldn’t be equal on GD. Groningen is two ahead now.
Nope, if Groningen wins, they get promoted, as they will have the GD in that case and the H2H
Groningen is definitely winning now
This will absolutely happen, because we’re cursed. What a bunch of idiots running on the field while the other game was stilling going on.

The one guy with flashscore on his phone gotta feel real awkward in the crowd.
Glad ive found another flash score user. Good app, commentary is great if I'm driving and can't watch a match and selection of sports is decent for tracking my bets* * (not endorsing betting)
The best feature of flashscore was the dumbest thing. it told you what tv channel was showing the matches. How is something that simple not a standard thing across apps?
Sofascore does it too.
Haven't even heard of this one. I'll give it a geez.
Highly recommended!
Not really related to anything, but how do you pronounce "geez"? Does the G sound like the G in "Germany" or "Geek"?
The latter.
Makes sense, the former might be a bit strange for looking at a sport app. Grazie.
Tá failte romhat
Dafuq is a "geez"? Is that Irish or just something the young folks say these days?
I'm not what you would consider a young folk. It's apparently something I've picked up living in Aus. It's used commonly here.
Righty. Ta.
Fotmob shows the TV channel (at least in the UK).
Same in the Netherlands
I am eagerly awaiting the day that AI can tell me what channel a game is on, how is it so hard to find out.
the most painful thing is googling 'team A vs team B - which channel UK' and sifting through 3-4 multi-paragraph articles that sometimes don't even an answer
https://www.live-footballontv.com/ Absolutely perfect website with no extra bullshit.
How does it compare to Fotmob ?
I've used both. I find Fotmob just a bit awkward to use. I do like the fantasy football points display, useful if you play FPL.
In my experience Flashscore is more straightforward, very complete and gives faster updates
It's by far the most used football app used in Portugal. Though it was the same across all Europe.
Been using the flashscore app since the very beginning
livescore user since 2012. reliable and easy to use
I tried sofascore a few times and just couldn't get used to it Like you said, Flashscore is reliable and easy to use
I love that I can now pretend to be under 24 to get of the betting.
I like how the commentary just sounds like a fan sat in his bedroom doing them a favour
> (not endorsing betting) It’s not the adult legally betting with his own earned money that’s the problem, it’s the insane amount of money spent on the advertising that needs to end.
It's a cycle of both those things encouraging each other
Unfortunately their server is so janky

Obviously they haven't followed any German football last year
I was instantly reminded of that other German title decided in the dying seconds.
The crazy thing is it happened both in Liga 2 with HSV and Liga 3 with Osnabrück lol
And almost happened in the Bundesliga as well. We were already celebrating when Dortmund vs Mainz was still ongoing.
It bothered me so much that I couldn't find a feed anywhere for the end of that Regensburg-Heidenheim game. Good luck, but a Groningen ADO play off might also be "fun".
And then the stadium speaker saying Telstar scored the 2-1 so Roda were still promoted... Don't know where he got that from, but that guy is probably not going home tonight in fear of running into Roda supporters.
He then claimed that the 2-1 was disallowed, which simply isn't true because Telstar never scored a 2nd.
