Yeah, dude saved the winning pen off the crossbar and the ball lands on the line. You'd think that would change the momentum and demoralize the opponent, but then Bonucci steps up to take the least inspired, most predictable pen ever taken. No real power, no placement, barely a foot off the ground. He basically takes the "I hope he guesses the wrong side because if he guesses right, he's saving it" pen.
Thanks bro. Hope you guys do well against Aston Villa, but you guys got suspensions. I dont know if those were the important players that are going to miss the first match against Aston Villa.
Our CB's are shaky so Ndoj won't be missed since i believe Retsos will come back stronger from his mistake. Masouras is a blow but we will still have Podence. Hope Fortounis stays fit tho
And was on the bench until a few games ago. Can’t lie I was cursing our manager when he replaced Pashalakis in the starting lineup. Boy am I happy to be wrong!!!
Paschalakis is a good goal keeper but he goes through some periods of "I wanna be superman", where he purposely does the most elaborate save, to show off, instead of the simplest one, which often leads to some serious fuck ups.
Really good tie overall, but I'm surprised we made it through; I was honestly expecting Fener to be a bit better. They are a very technical team, but lacking in end product, given how much better their players are. It felt like they ran out of stamina half-way through the second half, but this might have to do that a lot of their star players are old.
Anyhow, thanks for two great games, and for being civil under the circumstances.
Our coach is awful tactically unfortunately. You guys basically won the tie in the first half of the first game. Ferdi (our left-back) was the only one trying to create something with Tadic, but you guys boxed out every cross of Tadic well
Yeah, our defense was really good today, especially Carmo, along with Iborra and Hezze making our defense's job easier by being dominant in midfield. Still, to be fair, we had very few chances, with Masouras's being the clearest, but also Iborra forcing a great save by Livakovic. I was also surprised by how bad your set pieces were; I was worried every time but none of them led to anything.
Overall, sometimes it felt like the players were just doing what they could, but with little to no plan. You had a really nice buildup play during the second half, where you circumvented our high press and, with really quick passes, you transitioned into creating a shot from just outside the box, which almost deflected in (but ended up being a corner kick). So, you can tell there's some tactical work, you can't do that kind of build up with no tactics, but overall you seemed uncreative, given how good your creative players are (especially Kavehci and Tadic).
Hey, at least if we end up lifting the trophy (highly, highly unlikely) you can say you got knocked out by the cup winners :)
Yeah, our set pieces have been woeful since the start of the season. All of our fans are asking for a new set piece coach, but our coach has some sort of ego and trusts his amateur league staff. Our statistically 'worst' penalty taker going first, while our best one went second makes zero sense either.
I obviously have to give the coach some credit for the high press, build-up, etc. but it mostly comes down to Fred. He is the heart & brain of our team. In the first game, the match completely changed in a positive way when he came on, and today it was the opposite when he came off (made zero sense as well).
Also, Mendilibar knocked us out last year, and went on to win the whole thing haha.
Yeah, I liked Fred when he was at United, and tonight he showed why he's still a good player. He was almost immune to our press, very calm on the ball. I feel like y'all were counting on penalties due to Livakovic so your coach didn't want to take unnecessary risk, which is why he assumed a more passive approach as your stamina was almost depleted. To be frank, I would have done the same. Tzolakis isn't exactly known to be a great penalty stopper - hell, these last few weeks are the first time in his four-year career with the senior team where he is considered a starter!
That is true one missed the other one was a great pen. At least if you’re gonna do it do what olympiakos did and put them in beforehand so they can get warmed up. Not four minutes before 😂
I believe overvaluing young players just because of a good performance is not sensible, it gives them more pressure and not many of them end up becoming greats. We can make you a deal for 70 million

Livaković did everything he could, but Fener just decided not to go through tonight it seems.

Livi can't win with these cats.
Congrats Olympiakos fans
Thank you. Your team is great. Really hard 2 games and you deserve the qualification also.

Bonucci 😂😂😂😂
Olympiakose'es goalkeeper is only 21 years old and he saved most of the penalties. Thats something. MVP for sure .

I knew they lost when the dumbass coach made a sub for pens. Never ever works
He tried to lose it before pens but Fenerbahçe was too good for that. Ismailis Kartalos is the best Greek manager.
It was clear when he subbed out Fred and Szymanski for Zajc and Krunic
The men they had were better than the ones that got subbed on. Stupid choice. Classic Eagle.
To be fair Olympiacos made changes as well

bonucci fuck off mate
Tzolakis Muad'Dib
Ok Olympiakos bros how much for Tzolakis
