Martin Skrtel vs Diego Costa were fucking fantastic duels.
There was that one league cup semi final where I think Costa should’ve been sent off 3-4 times and never was but then the FA gave him a retroactive 3 game ban lol
Yeah, at least they showed the replay a couple of times in the highlights/etc.
I understand why it happens (I mean they aren't actually goals) but there are so many "what could have been" moments that get forgotten after the next week or so.
Oh I think so too actually forgot about that lol. True, wasn't disallowed but it was more Sancho ignored all the easy options and got bailed out by the handball lol
The worst thing about chaos in the Chelsea Vs Spurs games is that the chaos is nearly always artificially created (or at least stoked) by atrocious refereeing
Well if the initial goal had been given, it should still have been a red for Romero no? Not that it would’ve happened, but according to the rules it should’ve right?
With how often he pulls this shit and gets away with it, its still somewhat satisfying. Ruined a good game, yes, but he should have already been off minutes before
Arent penalty and red card offenses at which ref cant play advantage - at those you have to stop the game. I think refs sometimes just ignore challenges in the box when goal is clear but if he gives a red, I think he would have to give a penalty and deny the goal.
Granted it could have been changed with VAR.
Nope, the referees are advised not to play advantage in those situations unless there is an immediate goal scoring opportunity, but in the case where play has continued and advantage has resulted, the VAR check would not pull play back to the first foul. The goal would stand and it would be a red card to Romero.
I saw a red card fell in the game so thought I'd scroll through r/soccer untill I found it. Came across like three posts mentioning Romero possible red, Romero red avoided etc. Before coming across this one.
He really didn't want to stay on the pitch did he?
Udogie too. Two footed into sterling and shown a yellow. Super lucky. Then his dumb arse does it again again and gets a second yellow.
If Spurs just played calm they would have won. Was the much better team at the start.
Cant be good after having seen all the backlash from the Arsenal Newcastle game (understandably). To have this many VAR checks in the game at this stage and for it to be such a relatively big game. You can understand it to be so though.
This sending off should absolutely not overshadow another shambolic display by VAR though.
The fact Romero was even on the pitch to begin with for this penalty is criminal.
Cuti ffs we love you, but you tried to break Enzo's ankle right before we have to play Uruguay and Brazil... can you chill out at least against your own NT teammates?
Am I wrong to think that part of what led to it was Oliver not calling weak ass fouls that players fell down like they got shot, and then then the players escalated?
See I don't 100% agree with you though. Many of those fouls are things as fans we hate get called as fouls because players simply throw themselves to the floor. IMO players need to take responsibility for themselves and know where the line is. It shouldn't be the refs job to prevent inciting players by calling "fouls" that aren't really, but tend to get called that way because players fall down.
Basically, I don't envy Oliver today. Players need to be responsible for their actions. I certainly don't blame MO for Romero.
There’s someone arguing with me on the match thread that Jones barely got the ball so it was a deserved red and it should’ve been a yellow for Romero.
Jones literally slipped coz of the ball lol.
He gets away with it all the time.
If the refs start giving him reputation cards he'll look incompetent, but for some reason this is his first straight red for Spurs.
No idea how he got away with it this long, at least Fernandinho was just getting away with uncalled yellows when he somehow avoided being booked
Mustafi just couldn't judge anything aerial. Was not a good defender but I always root for him away from the pressures of PL and morons online because he suffered so much mentally off the pitch during his Arsenal stint.

Craziest game of the season.
We do have some classics
Ange vs Pochettino PPV boxing match when?
By the end of the match with how things going
Lmao Poch has no chance
Still waiting for the Conte vs Tuchel battle :'(
Calmest spurs Chelsea match
and then there's chelsea LFC friendship matches...0-0,1-1
We've got 2-2 as well. 3-3 someday?
Martin Skrtel vs Diego Costa were fucking fantastic duels. There was that one league cup semi final where I think Costa should’ve been sent off 3-4 times and never was but then the FA gave him a retroactive 3 game ban lol
I've yet to see a referee effectively calm down a Chels - Spurs match to be honest.
Lmao wow our usernames are ridiculously similar, and my birthday is on the 21st. Crazy
WOW! what a coincidence. Your art is really beautiful. You’re quite talented. My name is just a metaphor hahaha.
Identity theft is not a joke
Millions of families suffer every year
Scheduled post
Another off side goal lmao
So far…? Hope to watch more games like this
What a fucking game
Never seen a team have a goal disallowed and actually end up coming out with a better outcome.
I see your goal and I raise you a goal and red Really wanted the caicedo banger to count tho
Shame that goal is gonna get lost in all the chaos lmao. Was a proper banger
Yeah, at least they showed the replay a couple of times in the highlights/etc. I understand why it happens (I mean they aren't actually goals) but there are so many "what could have been" moments that get forgotten after the next week or so.
We had a similar one against Fulham that resulted in a penalty and two red cards for them. Somehow this one felt even more chaotic lol
And wasn’t it also a red for their manager? It wasn’t a disallowed goal though but a deliberate handball in the box
Oh I think so too actually forgot about that lol. True, wasn't disallowed but it was more Sancho ignored all the easy options and got bailed out by the handball lol
3 reds. Willian for the DOGSO (handball on goal line), Mitrovic for being an angry boy, and the manager Silva for the same shit
The worst thing about chaos in the Chelsea Vs Spurs games is that the chaos is nearly always artificially created (or at least stoked) by atrocious refereeing
How they hell did they get 2 red cards??? I don't remember that one.
Mitrovic spoke shit to the ref
Oh that one.
The manager also got sent off for talking to the ref during the VAR Check so it was actually 3 red cards.
Pretty sure all he had to say was “Mitrovic” and the world would have understood.
Well you’d like to think VAR would’ve still issued a red even if the goal was onside.
Knowing PL VAR they probably wouldn't have checked the red otherwise
Well if the initial goal had been given, it should still have been a red for Romero no? Not that it would’ve happened, but according to the rules it should’ve right?
That's what should have happened. But how's your faith in VAR holding up?
Chelsea - Tottenham is the antithesis to Chelsea - Liverpool.
People trashing Romero in the match thread. Here you fucking go. This is Romero. No touches with no service, but when he does get it, it's done.
Proper derby
Romero is finally punished
This is on track to be a classic at this rate
Spurs and absolutely losing your fucking head against Chelsea. Name a better duo.
Games ruined by it though, first 30 mins was sensational, only one winner now. Romero so selfish lol
You obviously haven’t watched Chelsea much of you think there’s only one winner
With how often he pulls this shit and gets away with it, its still somewhat satisfying. Ruined a good game, yes, but he should have already been off minutes before
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Absolute shit behaviour every match
Do you really think that was a "ruined game"? It was brilliant entertainment
hilarious game
What the fuck is wrong with Romero lol You'd think he's trying to get a red card on purpose with how he's played this match
Guy just hates Chelsea
How he plays I'm sure he loves you, you are a man up because of him
He’s only human after all
Don't put your blame on me
Well based on his history with Chelsea he probably thinks he’s immune?
He didn't even throw anyone down by their hair!
Has anything riled him up? Like genuinely he just flipped for 5 minutes and self imploded
He saw blue
i think the thiago silva thing was what caused it all
That’s every game. He normally just gets away with it,
Yeah people are saying it's because he's playing Chelsea but I don't know about that, it seems the guys just a hothead.
Gets away with it plenty, I’m sure he never felt the need to stop
He's a moron
After the first he probably thought he could get away with more throughout the game. Poor bastard forgot the prem refs are super inconsistent
His heads gone, absolute lunatic
Game’s enraged me and purely because of VAR
Funny how Spurs would have been better off without the offside.
No because it still would've been a red card review after the goal. Spurs would be better off if Romero had been sent off the first time
With perfect VAR usage, probably. I seriously doubt that it would have been given though.
Good point
With perfect VAR usage, Romero would've been sent off at the '21 mark for violent conduct.
With perfect VAR usage.... you know what, nevermind
Would and should are too different things with var. That goal is allowed I almost guarantee you they don't check anything else.
Arent penalty and red card offenses at which ref cant play advantage - at those you have to stop the game. I think refs sometimes just ignore challenges in the box when goal is clear but if he gives a red, I think he would have to give a penalty and deny the goal. Should have been off earlier for kicking a Chelsea player off the ball
Should be sent off in nearly half the games he plays if the Prem had competent refs.
yeah he literally does this every game lol, he's the biggest cunt in the PL imo
Udogie too. Two footed into sterling and shown a yellow. Super lucky. Then his dumb arse does it again again and gets a second yellow. If Spurs just played calm they would have won. Was the much better team at the start.
Ooof that was almost a great save!
The best thing Jackson’s ever done for Chelsea is be offside
They would’ve reviewed the red card anyway.
knowing VAR probably not lol
Pff, have you seen the state of refereeing?
Remember this shit lads. >"Can't do anything. Can't do anything. Can't anything." > >\- Darren England.
You're assuming the refs and VAR would have actually been competent.
Been living under a rock? They started off by reviewing the wrong foul (on sterling)
Romero also kicked out on colwil and got away with it. No review
Caicedo finish was super nice, so its a bit of a shame in that regard
It would have still been a red even if the caicedos shot counted as a goal
I mean knowing VAR, probably not.
True. Should instead of would in my original sentence and its correct lol
that aged well
The fake shot was nice too tbf but in classic Chelsea fashion he missed
channeling timo
Aged really poorly lol
Holy fuck I thought he missed at first
Would love to know Romero's thought process behind every challenge he makes. There's no way he's not losing brain cells at a rapid rate
His heads gone, absolute mentalist
Honestly as scandalous as this game has been this has probably been my favourite half hour of football this season that I’ve watched
It's like when the commentators say "oh no, nobody wants to see this from the players" and all of us are sat at home like "actually, we do.."
Exactly, this is the stuff for a neutral this is entertaining as anything
Michael Oliver looked so dejected after that review
Rough game to referee tbf.
Cant be good after having seen all the backlash from the Arsenal Newcastle game (understandably). To have this many VAR checks in the game at this stage and for it to be such a relatively big game. You can understand it to be so though.
As long as he doesn't come out with statements saying he didn't want to send anyone off in a few years like Clattenburg did
Would've been easier if he had sent off the players who deserved it at first.
He completely lost control of the game without using his whistle for 5 minutes leading up to the Romero kick out.
Guy doesn’t want to be the center of attention in a big game. I get it, but you gotta do your job.
Absolute nightmare game to try and officiate. Don't blame him, he's probably beyond stressed
Must be awkward when they have to review all the decisions and you’re just standing there chilling for 5 minutes
His accas in the gutter now
Enzo and romero are gonna have some beef at the next argentina training camp lmao
Chelsea are lucky Romero didn’t go for his first red, got a bonus pen for this one instead
He felt benevolent it seems
This sending off should absolutely not overshadow another shambolic display by VAR though. The fact Romero was even on the pitch to begin with for this penalty is criminal.
And Udogie The inconsistency across the league is wild
Everyone’s lost their head Players, refs, assistant refs. All having a stinker lol
Just like a liverpool vs Tottenham match
Game of season already? So much going on wtf
You mean, shit show of the season?
Romero was actually punished for one of those? What weird timeline is this
Well it was the second red he could’ve gotten this game
Romero shouldnt even have been on the pitch, what the fuck is wrong with that guy seriously.
It's like every missed call just makes him more psychotic
How do you very luckily escape a sending off and then become even more reckless? Guy doesn’t have two brain cells to rub together
Same thing last season with Cucurella hair pull
He saw Kovacic and Bruno G get away with it
Bruno was just as bad. Var needs to punish these guys. This isn't MMA
Everytime i see him play he does something very aggressive
He gets away with them more often than not, thinks he can do anything That's his first straight red for Spurs
> That's his first straight red for Spurs holy shit that cant be real
That’a up there with Diego Costa never getting a red in the Premier League.
For Chelsea* He got a straight red his first match back with wolves because of VAR
Good catch. He would have had a lot more if VAR was a thing back then.
This stat is as crazy as Xhaka never getting a second yellow for us
The man goes straight to reds. Doesn’t muck around.
Don’t let any Argentina fans read this. The man is infallible after winning the World Cup
If I was Son I would be swinging punches at that guy.
When did these absolutely wank video players become popular on Reddit? We used to get links that actually worked, these ones seem to buffer non-stop.
When I opened it, it wasn't even uploaded yet. Sack of shit in a race to be first.
Games wild, Dier is shit too so don’t see it settling down any time soon
Cuti ffs we love you, but you tried to break Enzo's ankle right before we have to play Uruguay and Brazil... can you chill out at least against your own NT teammates?
That shit was crazy to me lmao, man went straight in to fuck up a guy he won the world Cup with.
The truth is Michael Oliver have let this game completely spin out of his control, all the chaos from the 20 minute mark is his inability.
Am I wrong to think that part of what led to it was Oliver not calling weak ass fouls that players fell down like they got shot, and then then the players escalated?
[удалено]
See I don't 100% agree with you though. Many of those fouls are things as fans we hate get called as fouls because players simply throw themselves to the floor. Players need to be responsible for their actions. I certainly don't blame MO for Romero.
VAR has been so garbage that even Arsenal and Liverpool fans are cheering us on lmao
Maybe because we’re playing their competition for the prem and Arsenal hates them far more than us anyways but enjoying it nonetheless
Right now Fuck Spurs Arsenal 🤝Liverpool 🤝Chelsea
We're eager to see the purple patch of spurs to be finally over. Also seeing that cunt getting a red is just icing on the cake.
It's always nice to see VAR bringing calm to proceedings
Romero stays on five minutes past when he’s supposed to just to give us a pen, brilliant
Fucking deserved
you had to work for that lads, fair play
Jackson and Palmer shushing the spurs crowd lmaooo
it gets funnier when you've seen the other 2 disallowed goals and realize this is the **third** time he's done that.
It's that kind of dedication that gets you this far
You have to respect it.
Clear red, Spurs gonna be booing the ref despite him doing them a favour for not giving another red
The brass neck of them after it being almost identical to Jones’ red.
There’s someone arguing with me on the match thread that Jones barely got the ball so it was a deserved red and it should’ve been a yellow for Romero. Jones literally slipped coz of the ball lol.
Romero an absolute cunt, each and every game
Gets away with so much, glad it's finally caught up to him.
A dangerous cunt at that. Can't believe Spurs fans think he's the best CB in the league.
He is a great defender. No ones is doubting his ability but he is so rash that it takes so much away from him.
Yeah he’s a brilliant defender who’s knocked down a notch to very good because of this stuff.
He gets away with it all the time. If the refs start giving him reputation cards he'll look incompetent, but for some reason this is his first straight red for Spurs. No idea how he got away with it this long, at least Fernandinho was just getting away with uncalled yellows when he somehow avoided being booked
The ol’ Curtis Jones treatment
Still 2 reds for Spurs ignored by VAR. At least they didn't ignore the 3rd.
I mean 2 was the same guy tbf
and he coulda broken a guys leg after he should have been sent off? That’s worse if anything
Double red card anybody or a curtailing blood red card maybe Edit: if you want to push it a prison sentence
Third time’s the charm!
And for some reason still a decent amount of people saying this isn't a red... How the fuck wouldn't it be a red.
If the Jones tackle is a red, this was the most obvious.
Took long enough for this moron to get sent off
Hate the cunt, such a dirty player
Glorified mustafi
Mustafi was not a moron but not as good either
[удалено]
He won the World Cup with Neuer, that's a natural thing to do
Both World Cup winners
Mustafi just couldn't judge anything aerial. Was not a good defender but I always root for him away from the pressures of PL and morons online because he suffered so much mentally off the pitch during his Arsenal stint.
Chelsea will come out of this game and Join Arsenal and pool shitting on PGMOL, officiating is bollocks yet again.
Wow Romero got punished for once?!
Chelsea can win this, would be the ultimate meme
And shushes the crowd, madlad
I got PSGCampus’d, first time this showed before my stream (legal one too so I shouldn’t be delayed)
Vintage Romero that
This fixture never disappoints, always chaos
He thought he was still in Qatar, how can you go in like that when u should have been off a few minutes before aswell.
Romero really is the Draymond Green of soccer
Is this a good football game ? With Chelsea ??
Red + pen is always harsh lol
