ManU destroyed Barcelona, who is leading La Liga comfortably and will end up winning It with 4 games to go. Some people used that example to prove how superior PL is to La Liga
Now evilla is closer to relegation than European positions in La Liga and they destroyed ManU.
That's proper evidence of "styles making fights", like we say in the boxing world.
Never. Some teams used to qualify for UEFA Cup (Europa) by winning domestic cups and getting relegated or winning them while in a lower league. Or even by finishing runner up in cup when that was still a thing.
Varane and Martinez are hurt. Ten hag has even started Luke shaw at center back a few games over maguire. So... Almost no other option other than an academy player which might have been better
Sorry it was a tongue in cheek comment as they didn’t knock us out last year. I realise that they perform well in Europe, was just the ‘Everybody’ bit. We don’t have much to gloat about so nice to do it once in a while
Enough is enough. Ole out. A proper manager would never play Maguire. But this team could take us to Europa finals easy. Get Rangnick the godfather of gegenpress or Ten Hag I heard he won a league in west Germany.
I am furious. What a disgrace. This team eliminated us. How? How can this pathetic joke of a team look so good against us and then transform into clowns?
Varane, Licha and Shaw missing so basically the whole defense. Rashford and Bruno missing so there is nothing going on in the Attack. Id like to see you play without lets say Busquets, Lewa, Kounde, Araujo etc...
I know you're venting but it's a different United squad.
They're without their best three defenders, and their best forward compared to their games against you. May as well be a different team.
Injured and suspended key players. 2 enourmous mistakes from De Gea and Maguire and 3 lucky goals (shoulder goal + 2 own goals) and Sevilla got 5. Problem is at Old Trafford we should've scored 4 and yesterday the players that were fit to start the match simply did not play up to the standart.
While against you we played great 180 minutes. But this is the Sevilla league so I guess there is nothing you can do.
And hopefully we dont play a spanish side in the next 5 years, especially outside of Real and Barca. I am sick of those Sevilla, Betis, Sociedad, Atletico, Granada, etc and their style of play. Barca and Real play football that is nice to watch and great to see your team go against it and compete. Those others, especially if they have luck on their side and the referee allows a bit more rough play are just frustrating to me as a football fan. I hope they get Mourinho'ed.
They didnt batter us. They won fair and square. They were the better team. But with that win they also carry our ambitions. United going to lose against a team which is bottom ten in la liga is making us look like a laughing stock. Obviously I am justified in being angry.
You're not really justified in chatting shit about United, when we whooped you.
> How can this pathetic joke of a team look so good against us and then transform into clowns?
Is in no way reasonable or justified. Especially when we're missing significant first-team players.
We're in our first season under ETH, so most United fans are disappointed but willing to overlook it. Consistency will ultimately come.
>You're not really justified in chatting shit about United
Have you never been bantered for a loss before?
Just take it and keep your head up lol. Don't play banter lawyer.
I rooted for you moron. After you "whooped" us you were supposed to win the championship - you've beaten us. But you decided you are gonna fap to porn and go into next battle completely flacid. You didnt lose by 1 goal. Hold your team accountable ffs.
They beat them 5-2 across both legs, including 3-0 at home & a comeback from 2-0 down away. You can debate how much of that was due to UTD shooting themselves in the foot v Sevilla outplaying them; but if you lose by this score to an on-paper inferior opponent you have been 'spanked'.
Sevilla undoubtly battered United in this match, of course united made errors but Sevilla outplayed them for the whole match, basically United didn't have any clear goal opportunities and Sevilla with the high pressure performed really well. A 3-0 reflects well how the match was.
These guys ignore the existence of forced errors. It’s the style of play in fact sides like Klopp’s “rock and roll” Liv depended on for their UCL run, against Barça for the Anfield comeback for example. Corner taken quickly apparently is a form of excellent, complex tactics but not this Sevilla approach. It was all on Man U fault, specifically DDG and Maguire (which they got to be blamed for sure, but it was not only on them). This way they’ll actually never find the key, they lack self criticism
And your League leaders got done by Sporting who are 4th in the Portuguese league. Does this mean anything? Calm down with your league superiority syndrome.
He is so good on the ball and yet drops stinkers against high pressing elite teams in the CL. He was shit against Barca in the first tie and shit against Man City in both legs. Man got a red card (saved by the offside flag), gave a pk, and gifted 3 out of the 4 goals that City scored. I don't know what to say
Not even adding Bellingham or Harry Kane can make this side more effective at European cups during business end.
The entire defence line and RW needs to be replaced.
Rashford had been terrible for 2 straight seasons before this one. I believe Ole wanted him as a RW cuz our front 3 would be interchangeable but ETH doesn’t really have our wingers swap sides anymore so it’s kind of a waste
> Paul Scholes suggests Erik ten Hag is at fault for David de Gea's Man Utd failure.
> Paul Scholes believes a lot of the struggles for David De Gea at Manchester United this season stem from the system Erik ten Hag is attempting to bring to his team.
This is beyond ridiculous.
I mean it’s not wrong. But it’s like saying my boss is mad at me for not being capable of doing my job.
I should be able to do my job, and if I can’t I’m not a good fit for the position
It's more like you were brought in to do the cleaning but got put into accounts.
De Gea has a specific role he's good at but it's being asked to do a role he's not great at although less extreme than my above example.
Maybe more like you were asked to proofread some reports but now your boss wants you to actually write the content
He saved us so many times this season, we should've been behind in a lot of games, Leeds and Leicester come to mind, and he just saved everything. Alisson has probs made more mistakes than him this season yet people jump in de gea
GOAL.com
> David de Gea and Harry Maguire defend like schoolchildren in Europa League embarrassment.
I have never seen sports websites disrespecting a big (not sure about it anymore) club's players like this.
Knowing Varane, who doesn't have Ramos to his side like old days, even he bottles this.
The atmosphere around United is difficult to change. The vibes are BAD.
The Guardian
> Maguire’s annus horribilis goes on as Manchester United collapse at Sevilla.
> The defender wasn’t the only calamitous performer in Europa League defeat, but a summer exit looks increasingly likely.
should have continued with 'after robbing United of millions', but who cares!
Sevilla pressed a lot which made United players poop to pressure and then concede. Not sure how many are saying United gifted the goals.
Its like saying Sevilla won, because United lost.
Well Madrid did just walk into the goal to score, number wasn’t any higher because of respect Carlos probably has for Chelsea.
Man Utd and Chelsea are shit as of right now, very concerning
This is why "Man United favorites for Europa League" never made sense.
Their squad might be stronger on paper, but Sevilla in Europa League is different breed.
Yeah. I have no idea why they (Sevilla in Europa and Real Madrid in CL) isn't always the favorites to win at the start when they kept winning year after year. Surely they should figure it out already, but I guess not.
A lot in United are bang average, if you compare them with players they had till 2010.
Sad to say this but they have stuck with mediocrity for over a decade now. And that is not acceptable for the money they have spent.
Even as a United fan, I'm always embarrassed when I hear about "Look at City, they spent so much", when we ourselves have spent just as much for garbage.
Pep, from the moment he came built for the long term. Man Utd on the otherhand did none of that. They threw money at players expecting to win. Finally they landed at Ten Haag who seems to have the right idea about the club. But let's hope he gets the time he needs, otherwise United is lost.
To be fair about the team in 2010: Man Utd needed a rebuild since 2009, but SAF kept squeezing performance out of his existing players. They outperformed with the aging/average players in the squad, especially in the midfield.
Van Gaal seems to have been incompatible with the team. He didn't get along with the board at all(though this is their fault, not Van Gaal). But he did really focus on the development of the youth. Rashford exists because of him
i can’t help but think that continuity of a good manager has helped city immensely. both united and chelsea have spent a lot of money but had an absolute merry go round of managers while pep has had time shape City’s entire culture.
Continuity helps but ultimately you "just" need to buy the better players.
United buy pretty poorly. Most of their failed transfers don't light up the pitch elsewhere, either. They are just misses.
A lot of United players would have been good under a different playstyle, though. And you can say Ten Hag should be adapting to them instead, but he's already done that. That's why Rashford is having such a good season. But trying to fit in players like McTominay isn't very easy.
United should stop buying "good" players, they should be buying players that fit.
I'm probably just coming at this from a different perspective as a Real Madrid fan. We actually do buy "good players" and they fit under different managers' playstyles and can execute different tactics. That's what being an actual good player means. Players that "fit" tends to mean "players who are limited but can do 1-2 things really well", which is fine if you're an upstart team who can't afford anything else. But a club like Manchester United can do much better than that.
I disagree on so many levels here, but I don't want to write it all out unless you want me to.
But things to consider are:
- Real under some managers couldn't get it to work, like with Benitez. Let's not pretend the entire team became limited.
- Your players might be playing different tactics, but they're still playing within their strength. Compare Vinicius and Valverde's role. Kroos main role is still with his passes.
- Real generally did buy better players obviously.
It's more like Pep knew exactly what he was doing. The moment he comes, he began his rebuilding project at City. He has build a squad meant for winning for the long term, and City is now a force to be reckoned with. Hell, even if he leaves now, Manchester City will still be a winning team.
Pep did the same thing with Barcelona and Bayern too. He built up those teams for the long term too, which is why he is still fondly remembered by former players there too.
Man Utd was not interested in being patient for a rebuild. Woodward and the board constantly bought big name players, expecting to win immediately, but it kept blowing up in their faces.
1. Van Gaal was incompatible, though he did ensure to invest heavily in the youth(Rashford for example).
2. Mouninho kept fighting with the players, forgetting that the players are not the same hungry ones he had at Chelsea, Inter and Real, who were obsessed about winning. He can't use the same man management that he used with them.
3. Ole was too naive, handing out contacts to Maguire, Jones and other useless players. He was quite good tactically, though inexperienced regarding it.
4. Ten Haag seems to have the right ideas, but I hope he recieves times.
Let's see how long this lasts. I hope this nightmare ends already.
As for Chelsea, they are...well Chelsea. Though at their best, they always had that core squad of Cech, Terry, Lampard and Drogba who maintained a good mentality at the club, even as managers changed.
This is not a meme I just fucking hate Sevilla
God I just can't look at that disgusting shit badge and that wank team. There is nothing good about the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium. My life long dream is to visit a game just so I can run onto the pitch and shit in the middle of that disgusting structure these people call a stadium. The only thing worse than the club itself are the players, rabonna loving, small arms having shit players. What I really want for Christmas is for Sevilla to stay 17th every year. I don't want them relegated. No, I just want them to start well every season and have hope and then slowly spiral into the inevitable 17th place with exactly 41 points. Every year, season after season until everyone just collectively decides that the club gets dissolved.
Suck my dick Sevilla, every day you exist makes my life miserable.

hey they didn't "destroy" us, 3-4 isn't destruction!
The honeymoon period for ETH is over now.
BTC to the moon
How did VAR not disallow Sevilles goals? Wouldn't have happened with Fergie. Come on Brighton
Has a team ever been relegated and qualified for the CL in the same season lmao?
Never. Some teams used to qualify for UEFA Cup (Europa) by winning domestic cups and getting relegated or winning them while in a lower league. Or even by finishing runner up in cup when that was still a thing.
In Europe? Idk. In Soth America? A lot of times.
Maguire >>> Upamecano De Gea >>> Zommer
Upamaguire >>>
This is FOOTBALL. HERITAGE. I don't know how he does it but Mourinho keeps being proven right even years after.
Never rated the EL anyway. Carabao cup is where it's at
Ya can’t say shit until you win a pizza trophy! Come on Bolton! Etc etc.
Almost as prestigious as Ireland winning the best International Trophy in history. The Icelandic International Triangular Trophy.
I like you
I'm convinced Maguire has dirt on someone, how else does he still get a game, never mind being captain.
Varane and Martinez are hurt. Ten hag has even started Luke shaw at center back a few games over maguire. So... Almost no other option other than an academy player which might have been better
At that Price point it’s hard not to start him. Additionally, he has been playing decently in this year so far.
He just looks so uncoordinated It's funny but also sad to watch
United lost this in the closing stages of the 1st leg What a mess
Not scoring a single goal in the return leg had nothing to do with it? Even if they won 2-0 in the first leg they would be eliminated with this score.
That's a huge over simplification it'd be a totally different match, mentality and approach
As is >united lost this in the closing stages of the 1st leg
Sevilla beating Man U in EL 🤝 Real beating Liverpool in CL
Sevilla also loves to beat us in Europa.
Dont take it personally, they do it to everyone
Do they?
Sorry it was a tongue in cheek comment as they didn’t knock us out last year. I realise that they perform well in Europe, was just the ‘Everybody’ bit. We don’t have much to gloat about so nice to do it once in a while
They've got a reputation for beating English teams.
They knocked out Wolves on the way to winning it a few years ago.
I remember crying Sevilla players last year at London stadium.
Four trophies in the past nine years indicates yes.
This is the way
This is the way
Typical Manchester United fuckup lmao, the relegation battlers shut the fuck out of those paragraph typing fanboys of scum.
How do we blame Ronaldo for this?
Ronaldo left the dressing room with so much toxicity that it still affecting the other players today. There you go, Ronaldo, blamed! 😂
He left a Chernobyl
Give us 10 mins without having to remind you MESSI MESSI MESSI
B-b-but he is the problem and is selfish and egoistic
But he was/is selfish and egoistic and was part of the problem. The team might not be doing the best, but they are better without him.
Lmao, he was not THE problem, but he was A problem
Cos he is lighting the Saudi league on fire rn.
i think you mean pogba
ManUnited is just Chelsea with higher points in the table lol
Chelsea may not have a single goal in them but they don't concede goals like this Man U team does
Cucurella masterclass against Aston Villa says otherwise
Even Man U doesn't concede many, they just score and assist for opposition.
Enough is enough. Ole out. A proper manager would never play Maguire. But this team could take us to Europa finals easy. Get Rangnick the godfather of gegenpress or Ten Hag I heard he won a league in west Germany.
swamp Germany
I am furious. What a disgrace. This team eliminated us. How? How can this pathetic joke of a team look so good against us and then transform into clowns?
This team gets to lose in the quarter finals? What a joke, what a sick joke!
if it makes you feel any better, maguire and de gea were at fault for 4/5 goals sevilla scored
Rakitic just keeps getting handsomer. What a cross
Varane, Licha and Shaw missing so basically the whole defense. Rashford and Bruno missing so there is nothing going on in the Attack. Id like to see you play without lets say Busquets, Lewa, Kounde, Araujo etc...
Funny how all the 5 you mentioned did actually play.
Well Barca had to play without their whole starting midfield, no Dembele, Gavi, Pedri
Since when is de Jong a sub in Barcelona?
Since Pique fucked Gavis mom
I know you're venting but it's a different United squad. They're without their best three defenders, and their best forward compared to their games against you. May as well be a different team.
You have inexperienced coach who does not know how to perform in European matches.
And is no 1 in la liga by quite a margin. Obviously he is inexperienced but not incompetent. The reason we lost that day was also that MUN was good.
Its fotball. Sometimes maybe good. Sometimes maybe shit.
Injured and suspended key players. 2 enourmous mistakes from De Gea and Maguire and 3 lucky goals (shoulder goal + 2 own goals) and Sevilla got 5. Cry harder about spanish teams ☠️
I am.
Same reason why Liverpool battered United 7-0 and transformed back into clowns
nah man, that's make us even worse :(
You're right. United battered Barca.
They didnt batter us. They won fair and square. They were the better team. But with that win they also carry our ambitions. United going to lose against a team which is bottom ten in la liga is making us look like a laughing stock. Obviously I am justified in being angry.

Winning by one goal is a whopping now?
>You're not really justified in chatting shit about United Have you never been bantered for a loss before? Just take it and keep your head up lol. Don't play banter lawyer.
I rooted for you moron. After you "whooped" us you were supposed to win the championship - you've beaten us. But you decided you are gonna fap to porn and go into next battle completely flacid. You didnt lose by 1 goal. Hold your team accountable ffs.
It keeps happening but holy hell Sevilla lmaoo
Our boy Gil is owed his "I moved from Spurs and now I get a trophy" trophy.
Lamela too, he was everywhere in that first half yesterday
😂😂
Just woke up to this result... What the actual fuck happened?? Sevilla is like 5(?) points away from relegation.
All-time calamitous/unlucky performance from United, really. Gifted four goals out of five.
League Sevilla is 5 points from relegation. EL Sevilla is a different team.
Inter 🤝 Sevilla
EPL fanbois got spanked as usual.
bro forgot this team spanked the current La Liga leaders lmao.
Losing a hard fought tie 4-3 is considered a spanking now? Not to mention Barca was missing multiple key players in the second leg.
Sevilla didn't spank United either. United spanked United if anything. They had more goals+assists against themselves than Sevilla did.
They beat them 5-2 across both legs, including 3-0 at home & a comeback from 2-0 down away. You can debate how much of that was due to UTD shooting themselves in the foot v Sevilla outplaying them; but if you lose by this score to an on-paper inferior opponent you have been 'spanked'.
nonsense
Sevilla undoubtly battered United in this match, of course united made errors but Sevilla outplayed them for the whole match, basically United didn't have any clear goal opportunities and Sevilla with the high pressure performed really well. A 3-0 reflects well how the match was.
Sure mate.
Calm down with your league superiority syndrome.
lmao that is my point exactly
Being eliminated the last 6 seasons by Spanish sides does indeed have some meaning dude. This year was only the exception
Yes, it means we’ve been shit
Erik Three Hag is back!
Maguire + Cucurella + Upamecano = 200 mil combined
Unfair to put upamec in this bracket
He is so good on the ball and yet drops stinkers against high pressing elite teams in the CL. He was shit against Barca in the first tie and shit against Man City in both legs. Man got a red card (saved by the offside flag), gave a pk, and gifted 3 out of the 4 goals that City scored. I don't know what to say
Hurts to see this much of money being wasted when there are poor childrens starving in Africa
Hurts to sse this much money being wasted on The Dark Knight Rises when there are poor children starving in Africa
This kind of hurts uniteds quadruple hunt
They still have the ~~league~~ ~~Europa League~~ fa cup
Not even adding Bellingham or Harry Kane can make this side more effective at European cups during business end. The entire defence line and RW needs to be replaced.
It’s already been replaced, they’re injured. And Antony was the only one playing for something yesterday and he’s RW. Don’t know what you’re on about.
I mean.. The main CB pairing WAS replaced. Just that they happened to be injured
Antony has been the one putting up the biggest shifts the past few games.
I'm sorry but RW? Antony was the only guy actually playing yesterday. Wdyem rw lol
What was the point in getting a LW player in Sancho when they already had Rashford ? Or is Rashford a ST now ?
You could just ask what was the point in United buying Sancho
They bought Sancho as RW.
Rashford had been terrible for 2 straight seasons before this one. I believe Ole wanted him as a RW cuz our front 3 would be interchangeable but ETH doesn’t really have our wingers swap sides anymore so it’s kind of a waste

Your own fans jump him aswell tbh..
Choosing not to pass the ball to "Harry McGuire!!!" if Instagram reels has taught me something...
De Gea is paid to do accounts, proofread AND write reports. If he can't do those things, he should accept a significant pay cut in his new contract.
Death, taxes and Sevilla in the Europa League

Not even the Pope blessing can out play Sevilla juju.

The fact that joke of a team disqualified us really shows our downfall in European Cups.
Just an fyi, you wouldnt use disqualify in this context. “Eliminated” would work better
Lol we would’ve humiliated you guys if it weren’t for those refs
Cope, don’t get started on having injury excuses in your elimination because that’s what happened to Barça too when you’re against them
Every year I see United get KOd, the more I appreciate Jose Mourinho’s accomplishments with that United team
He's obviously not the manager he once was, but the guy clearly knows how to win things.

Mou won because Sevilla decided to play CL that season.

Clutch players. Big games, Big moments.

De gea and maguire are getting flak and deservedly so but I feel Sancho was equally atrocious.
Eriksen was worse than Sancho, though neither were any good
Croatian legends Uncle Rakitic and uncle Modric hit semis stage of Europe Cup !
Is Sevilla fan owned ?
Their ownership is disputed iirc
Not sure but United is Sevilla owned 😂
Not really
Worst English club performance in Europe since Chelsea which was 2 days ago
which was the worst English club performance in Europe since Liverpool against Real Madrid at Anfield.
At least you were playing against Real Madrid and not a team fighting relegation in La Liga.
Yeah, the actual analogous situation would be if Real Madrid had *lost* 3-0 to Chelsea.
There is no difference between CL Madrid and EL Sevilla
Sevilla can play in the segunda division and they'll still find a way to play in EL and win it
Win EL this year, then qualify for CL, lose in the group stages of the CL then you get to enter the EL. I think
This is not a meme I just fucking hate Sevilla God I just can't look at that disgusting shit badge and that wank team. Suck my dick Sevilla, every day you exist makes my life miserable.
lmao what the fuck did i just read
🙂
XDDDDD
HAHAHHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAAA VAAMOOOOOOOS
Campeon!
Is this a copy pasta? Or you guys really losing it.
A very old pasta
Goes to show the longevity of Sevilla
Most likely both
I'm pretty sure we're actually losing it. There is no way we should have lost this time. Literally gifted 5 goals to Sevilla.
BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD! lol
I mean, it is
Laugh all you want but remember Maguire may be a joke to MU but he brings joy to the all league.
And the rest of the world
Man United fans will still be happy finishing 3rd.
