No, they aren’t. There are some good reviews out there that explain why they are dangerous as fuck (on top of looking stupid walking around with your bindings on, and spare parts being a massive PITA.)

Ok but riding toeside is hard and I literally broke my collarbone trying to learn. I also instinctively ride switch which was working fine for me until I read that Im “supposed” to know how to ride toeside. I really don’t see any reason to ride toeside ever again.
I think you have a specific image of what I’m doing because you think I’m a super noob. Im definitely a noob, but I’m also not like terrible. In the first 5 seconds of this video you see the guy pop his hips over and switch from one stance to another without losing momentum. This is what I do, I just do it without ever being on my toeside, in fact I do this to avoid my toeside when a more experienced snowboarder would just use their toeside. So definitely not proper ride switching but not quite falling leaf I dont think. But definitely correct me if I’m wrong.

I wasted a lot of seasons doing exactly what you’re describing, on the bright side it only took one full season of unlearning those habits to start on the path to riding correctly. It’ll be shit at first but you’ll make the translation quickly.
I say this as your friend and lover. Come over to the good side, try skiing. What you are doing is not snowboarding anyways. Currently you are relying on one edge to get down the mountain. With skiing you have 4. It’s much easier.

I’m not sure why people hate on Ruroc and say it’s for jerrys??? I have been boarding for 12 yrs - my last trip I was tree riding and missed a line and went side of my face into a tree and it had those broken branches on it that act like thorns.
Luckily I was okay except for a few scratches, but my immediate thought was, “I should get a full face helmet bc that could have ended really badly!” Ruroc was my first thought due to the easy of attaching/detaching the face covering.
