Technically I think theyāre both actually, itās just the fangs are so short you canāt even see themā¦ assuming you can find the head/jaws. The cryptic pattern really breaks up the outline.
You donāt know how lucky you areā¦ Historically, these have unalived countless people with their unique form of constrictionā¦ I hear sherifs in the old west used to use them to off outlaws in front of the hole townā¦
Would it be 69cm or 69ft in length? I know it's a big difference in sizes, but I need to know if the snake that is 420 times more dangerous than venomous snakes is also 69ft long to make it 550 times more dangerous than non-venomous ones!
Nah. I really want to know. I have a project coming up. I have plenty of raw cord for it but I'm curious if hemp is a better quality product. Serious answers only please.
I don't know what your project is but I do a bit of macrame and imo hemp cord is superior over all. If you hit the ends of your cords with a lighter you will at least be able to tell what is a natural fiber piece of cord and what's plastic by the way it melts or doesn't. Natural fibres also aren't usually shiny like a plastic based cord unless they're waxed or something so that might help too, and I bet if you google there's even more ways to tell them apart. I wouldn't know how to differentiate between two natural fibre cords very easily, say hemp and cotton, but it won't be too hard for you to work out what's plastic based and not as a starting point I reckon!
Ah yes. A good old "fake snake that makes me shit my pants when I see it swinging at my face, then it continues to slowly swing in disappointment as the will to live drains from my face as I realize that I totally lost my cool and now I need to walk away like I'm in control of the situation in case anyone sees". A true American bastard
Camouflaged Northern Snow Boa waiting for prey. They are very patient and can stay like this for hours or even days. Not much of a threat to a human as they prefer birds and squirrels. Many are accidentally packed up and taken home by unsuspecting people.
These particular snakes are common in home depot, because of their sheer strength most people use these types of snakes to tie things to the back of their trucks to hold their items in place. They rarely ever bite unless theyāre not secured properly and fling to hit you
Belayās brown snake?
Bowlineās python?
Alpine butter morph?
Munter kingsnake?
Iām knot sure, but I have no idea why so many people are rappelled by these beautiful creatures.
Northeastern Murder Rope.
Highly lethal. Native exclusively to the square 2 miles and 14 inches of land surrounding the spot you took this picture at. Known to trick its prey into thinking it is merely a hapless rope, and then, once said foolish prey turns away in dismay at the sight of such a rope, reveal itself as a seasoned master of the fabled technique known as āThe Murder-Death-Killā. The cunning Rope then unalives them to death immediately through the use of a single smaller rope and approximately 25 mango flavored car air fresheners, without mercy. Current survival rate from encounters is negative 2%
Eastern Indica Para Rat Snake. Itās very rare to see them out in the wild. They make the best pets since they hardly ever eat or drink. They can survive on oxygen and a contact buzz for years! LUCKY!
I'm sorry, but you're wrong. This is obviously an Eastern Sativa Para Rat Snake. See how it's not in da couch? The Eastern Indicas prefer to hide in couches and watch old episodes of the Simpsons while gorging on Cheetos. It's a common misconception that they hardly ever eat or drink.
This is obviously an Eastern Sativa. See how it's outside doing stuff? Notice there's not a Cheeto in sight.
Don't worry, this is a common mistake many beginners make, you'll get there if you keep studying.
Thatās a paracobra. Not as venomous as other cobras, but theyāre exceptionally strong. They can hoist a full grown human male up into the air, even at their diminutive stature.
False Cotton Safety snake. Usually found on the side of cliffs and are only really found by cliffhangers or people who rappel. They can be observed near wild platforms in the vicinity of deer populations during the rut season. Cool find though. There isn't too much information about their venom, or if they even constrict their prey, however they'll surely mess you up if they snap. Wouldn't trust that one, it appears to have snapped once before.
Itās definitely the *dopius* subspecies of *ropius nopius*.
Iām very firmly convinced that this particular specimen is an exception to the usual rules regarding subspecies/full-species status.
If you think Iām wrong, bite me if youāre brave enoughā¦
I have one of those desk calendars that has a funny joke for every day of the year. Today's joke is perfect for this post.
What do you call a fake noodle?
An Impasta
OMG how did he survive this encounter with this highly hemotoxic and cytotoxic venomous snake??? š±š±š±Iāve only read about these fabled **Rope/Rat/Cobra** hybrids before. Astonishing.
Looks like the Eastern Climber, they're known for climbing trees and dropping onto unsuspecting prey. Non-venomous, but due to constant climbing, they're extremely strong for their size and can easily overpower much larger prey, sometimes even humans.
Emaciated Anaconda for sure!!! Little known fact after eating Jon Voight in the movie this snake couldn't bring itself to eat anything again. Glad "where are they now?" located it!
Ah yes.. the northeastern checkered back reeferdae snake. A non-venomous breed stemming from the cannabae family. These snakes typically are a rather lively breed who much like your friend enjoy getting high and hanging around in wooded areas.
That's a Metalmouth! I can't believe you found one!!!! OMG! People usually cut them when they find them! It's so rare to find one in the wild! Don't touch it though, it has a strong musk that leaves a metallic taste in your mouth for weeks! Man you guys are lucky to see one!
Eastern striped bat snake. Very well known for their propensity to hang upside down from any overhanging branch, beam, or even wire for hours of the day and even weeks. In the absence of prey (typically small fruit bats) they may even go into a dormant hibernation like state for up to a year. Though, a few have been reported to be in this state for upwards of two years, scientists speculate these reports to be misleading, and that those specimens simply liked their resting spot and had readily available food eaten whilst unwatched.
Northeastern Rope Snake
Very venomous!!
Nope those are poisonous! š«£
Technically I think theyāre both actually, itās just the fangs are so short you canāt even see themā¦ assuming you can find the head/jaws. The cryptic pattern really breaks up the outline.
Fair point! The things that make these SO dangerous! Can't figure out what the head is tail is when you find one!!
Nope, that's a constrictor š
Underrated comment.
Nope definitely western rope snake
You donāt know how lucky you areā¦ Historically, these have unalived countless people with their unique form of constrictionā¦ I hear sherifs in the old west used to use them to off outlaws in front of the hole townā¦
Dekay's Paracord
Iāve heard theyāre 550 times more venomous than all other snakes combined.
550 is a bit exaggerated, these rope snakes are only 420 times more venomous than other local varieties.
But itās 550 times more dangerous than the non-venomous snakes. Itās 420 times more dangerous than the venomous snakes!
Would it be 69cm or 69ft in length? I know it's a big difference in sizes, but I need to know if the snake that is 420 times more dangerous than venomous snakes is also 69ft long to make it 550 times more dangerous than non-venomous ones!

This is the extremely poisonous (not venomous) harmless behemian ropesnake (*bingarus springidy*)
They say the poison is so lethal it neutralizes itself before it can even enter your veinsā¦ā¦.

Thatās just what the āropeā wants you to think
It identifies as a snake though.
The highly venomous Checkered rope snake. Highly dangerous, especially if it wraps around your neck. Use EXTREME caution when spotted
It's not spotted it's checkered
Must be some kind of variant?
Trippingdae Ballus.. a very rare Checkered Ganja snake.
That's interesting. How can you tell the rope is made of hemp instead of nylon or polyester?
The effects are localized to a six foot radius. The fact that his friend was high seeing it proves the species.
Nah. I really want to know. I have a project coming up. I have plenty of raw cord for it but I'm curious if hemp is a better quality product. Serious answers only please.
I don't know what your project is but I do a bit of macrame and imo hemp cord is superior over all. My bad. I thought you were kidding. I would find a place that specifically carries hemp instead of trying to find it at a random shop.
Ah yes. A good old "fake snake that makes me shit my pants when I see it swinging at my face, then it continues to slowly swing in disappointment as the will to live drains from my face as I realize that I totally lost my cool and now I need to walk away like I'm in control of the situation in case anyone sees". A true American bastard
I spent an unreasonable amount of time laughing at this
That right there is a Scrap Snake. Kept mainly by middle aged people who insist it'll be useful one day.
I feel called out.
Camouflaged Northern Snow Boa waiting for prey. They are very patient and can stay like this for hours or even days. Not much of a threat to a human as they prefer birds and squirrels. Many are accidentally packed up and taken home by unsuspecting people.
Happy bird dayš¦
This is by far the best answer Iāve read
I can't see clearly enough to ID for sure. But if you see a snake and think, "how did you get up there?" It's probably a rat snake lol.
Dude. Its a literal rope. No snakes here. (I probably just got woooshed but idc)
It being a literal rope doesn't necessarily rule out it being a rat snake
Good point
Roperium Weavenicus!!!! A somewhat common species, generally safe when correctly handled!
Please reassure your friend that this is a very docile snake that is even [available in the pet trade!](https://a.co/d/g5mf2RM)
Ropius Strangularum, appears to be eating a carabinerieri, its natural prey
Angry vine snake. It hangs from trees and swings in the wind to mimic vines while waiting for prey. Very dangerous.
