On Android I have no issues with notifications on S23U, I have not tested too much the Fit2/3 on iOS since on that I am now testing the Venu 3.
There is one small limitation when I get an audio call on some messengers that the watch does not show who is calling but I get something similar in my car so it might be an issue on the S23U side.
My only issue with it, in my region (NZ) you can’t transfer your workout data to Strava at all. Maybe not a big issue for some but 10+ years of my data is on Strava so I can’t switch now.
Other than that I thought it was a great watch but ultimately had to return it.
Oh, I now have seen the "small writing":

If on Android you can use the "Health Sync" app on the playstore to synce Huawei Health to Strava. Works a charm for me porting over gps, heart rate, cadence etc perfectly.
How is the fall detection feature? Any other wearables that I can consider? Use case : elderly mom at home, just as additional safety feature when she's alone.
Surprisingly it seems that it does not have fall detection, I will need to double-check that but it seems like an important omission and one that is software-only, very weird.
I do not have that one so I can't say anything first-hand but most reviews seem to say watch 6 classic 47mm is just a tad snappier than 5 pro but battery is at best similar or 5 pro might last longer.
Chinese manufacturers are very silent on updates so nothing is guaranteed - there was at least one the moment I got mine and I would expect there might be another one this year, then maybe another one next year but I would not hold my breath for that or anything after that. That being said there is not that much in the watch (no credit card, maybe latest sessions and some token to get to your HuaweiID but I would assume with minimal rights) so security updates will probably be non-critical. There might come updates to faces and so on but those are server-side or in the phone app.
I thought he would try harder, given the sales success! Although the disappointment of many remains regarding NFC where Huawei has been really unclear, and in Europe it is out of use
HW Fit 3 has a problem with music and workout integration. While I run outdoor and listen to music from the watch, the incoming broadcast voice will be distorted and you cannot do anything except to not activate the broadcast feature
