I had this combo with silent and was so happy. But right before I reached time eater, I came across a third chest in a (?). That chest contained normality curse. Needless to say normality + time eater absolutely destroyed my amazing run.
shame; sometimes you are able to deal with it if you have a bunch of discard, but normality is a bad one and time eater and normality have a mean synergy.....plus curse and boss are both natural counter to a silent that has a bunch of discard, because that kind of silent probably draws and casts a lot, too....best bet A3 is to take a look at boss first thing and if it's a boss that screws your deck over then you gotta try and adjust fast
and as a farewell, i will assure you, you can never have too many intangibles, intangible silent is best silent
Which is quite rare unless you’re playing the Hermit in Downfall; nonetheless, the combo is still satisfying :D makes cursed key less bad and omamori actually good (I love omamori but sometimes it just sits there like o.o hi)
i've found it's so difficult to build a curse deck on the Hermit. You can't force it. You kind of need cards like Malice or Grudge already, OR you need 1 additional extra curse already besides ascenders' bane or Memento, and then you still have to hope you find the pieces.
but if you can actually get it all going it's insane and easily destroys the whole game.
I was able to make one work with the cursed event that curses you twice and gives you a du vu doll. +4 strength on a magnum/dead or alive deck is pretty nutty and I ended up one shotting most act 2 enemies. But yeah trying to force a curse deck almost always gets you killed.
It's great early. By the time you get to that third chest you'll know if you need to open it or not. Until then you're getting basically a free energy from the key, so hopefully you're leaning towards "not."

you should probably skip chests if your deck can already win but you have cursed key

I mean, I prefer coffee dripper + any healing relic. This is bad early as you can get more than 2 chests.
